Chapter 30

"Sam," call Nicholas lethargic.

Sam patted Nicholas' shoulder excitedly. Alex is also seen pacing back and forth in front of Zahra's room worried.

Sam still does not know about Zahra's true health condition. He was the calmest of the three.

While in the room, Zahra checked Dr. Smith began to wake up. He opened his eyes slowly and found Dr. Smith was checking himself out.

Dr. Smith let out a heavy sigh, "Zahra, you can't delay the treatment any longer."

"I'll talk to your brother about it" continued Dr. Smiths.

When Dr. Smith was about to leave, Zahra immediately restrained the tip of Dr.'s suit. Smiths.

"No, doc. Please, don't do it. I don't want to upset my family. Please, just make another excuse like I'm exhausted, packing blood or something. Please," Zahra's pinta with teary eyes.

Dr. Smith sighed again. He was very reluctant to fulfill Zahra's request. Because it would put Zahra's life at risk.

"All right, I'll start treatment procedures next month. I promise," Zahra gave up on her family's doctor's trust.

Dr. Smith still half-heartedly nodded to Zahra's request.

"Ok, I'll call you next month for therapy" says Dr. Smiths.

With great force, Dr. Smith had to lie to Nicholas. He came out of Zahra's room with a nurse.

"Doc, how's?" Sergei Nicholas.

"Everything's fine, he's just eating carelessly" says Dr. Smith tried to lie.

Alex and Sam breathe a sigh of relief, but not so with Nicholas who has known Dr. Smiths. Nicholas is suspicious of Dr. Smith asked her to come to his office.

Dr. Smith could only follow Nicholas into the study.

"Tell me the truth" said Nicholas firmly.

"Sorry, Nicho. Your sister is in desperate need of medical attention. She should begin proper treatment immediately. She put it off a long time ago. She promoted she'd do it next month, but I'm not so sure of her condition."

Nicholas nodded in understanding of Dr. Smiths. Nicholas was actually very worried about his sister's condition. But, he knew very well how stubborn his sister was.

After the departure of Dr. Smith, Nicholas pondered in his study long enough to leave Alex and Sam confused. But, Sam and Alex would rather go to look after Zahra than have to serve Nicholas who is sometimes very cruel if he gives a job.

Nicholas thought of his own way for Zahra to be cared for in the near future and also the right reason for mama and papa they did not know about Zahra's condition for a while.

"Sam, where's my brother going?" Ask Zahra while wailing.

"Maybe in the study, he went to take Dr. Smith and not yet here" replied Sam, feeding Zahra porridge.

Nicholas who hasn't visited Zahra after dropping off Dr. Smith made Zahra feel lost. Although, when they were together more quarreled. But Nicholas is still the best brother to Zahra. Moreover, Nicholas was the only sibling he had.

Zahra just nodded and continued to eat the porridge until it ran out. Zahra doesn't know if Nicholas already knows about his true condition.

On the other hand, Nicholas is busy taking care of all of Zahra's files because he will insist on asking Zahra to do treatment as soon as possible.

"Mrs. Anton, please help me take care of Zahra's leave of absence teaching on campus. In the meantime, I will take over the students under Zahra's guidance, be it internships or final assignments" Nicholas told the rector of the campus.

After everything was done, Nicholas walked after Alex and Sam who were accompanying Zahra who he had not had time to look at.

"Feel better?" Nicholas asked gently who appeared from behind the door.

"Boss! Thank goodness you came at the right time. Your sister almost killed me earlier, she went berserk asking you to come."

"It's good that you're better" said Nicholas.

Zahra pouted at her insensitive older brother and remained indifferent as usual.

"Can't you be too attentive to me?" Zahra cried with anger.

Seeing his sister still raging, Nicholas approached and hugged her warmly. Zahra could not hold back her tears anymore. He was crying in Nicholas' arms.

"Hey, why? Is anyone sick? I need you to call Dr. Smith again?" Ask Nicholas streak.

Zahra shook her head slowly and did not want to let go of her embrace. Nicholas understood that with his only brother.

"Sister, where's my phone? I haven't called Hanna, she must be worried."

"Just use my phone" said Nicholas.

Nicholas was very reluctant to leave Zahra even if only briefly.

Zahra tried to call Hanna.

"Hello,"

"Hey! Where have you been? Your number hasn't been active all day," Hanna was worried.

"I'm doing fine. I forgot to put the phone where," said Zahra in a carefree tone.

Seeing Zahra start to cheer up again, Nicholas chose to stay away and gave her time to chat freely with Hanna.

"Oh yes, I was notified by the campus. He said my guide was replaced because you took a leave of absence."

Zahra was confused, he never applied for any leave. In two days he will be home. For what reason Zahra applied for leave especially until Hanna's supervisor had to change.

"Huh? I-I didn't apply for any leave. It seems like it was the campus's fault" said Zahra still confused.

"Oh, don't think about it. Let me take care of that. What do you want me to buy?"

"Hmm, how about a girlfriend for me?" Hanna said.

Zahra immediately nagged at Hanna's request. He was going to match Hanna with her brother who was almost an old virgin.

"Can't! Besides that!" Zahra's snapping surprised Hanna.

How not, Zahra never yelled at Hanna even once. Now even Zahra snapped yes suddenly.

"Hey, I'm just kidding!" Snap Hanna back.

Hearing his sister speak by shouting made Nicholas barge in and immediately snatch his phone from Zahra's hands.

"That's enough, you rest. It's night." It's night."

Zahra grumbled, he was still cool talking with Hanna and was just turned off by Nicholas. He had not even said goodbye to Hanna to sleep.

On the other hand Hanna was confused by Zahra's phone which suddenly died. However, he did not bother because the phone between countries cost expensive and if only a short phone call is a very reasonable thing.

"Goodnights, Zahra.... " Lirih Hanna while looking at the night sky from her bedroom window.

"Hurry back, a lot of things are troubling in my mind. Come and calm me down" Hanna said.
