MEMORIES AND ABU HORMUZ

MEMORIES AND ABU HORMUZ
Episode 10 - Don't Go

"Marco! One headed your way!” the warning came from Haruhiro.

"I know! You don't have to tell me!” the reply came quickly from Marco.

Barto and Udin were placed at the front, while Vina and Alice fought from a distance. One of the three Goblins that Barto and Udin had fought had slipped past them, then charged towards Vina and Alice. Marco was the one closest to one of the Goblins that broke through. Although he and Haruhiro

supporting the front line by being one step behind Barto, they also have another duty to protect two attacking girls from a distance. Marco moved to intercept the monster.

Although sometimes Marco damage the formation by running here and there and do things as he pleases

alone, their teamwork had increased within thirteen days since they first came to Damroww and started hunting Goblins. And today, Marco can work together without protest with the rest of the Party.

Marco shouted his skill, "[ANGER THRUST]!", and launched an attack. Marco thrust his sword at the Goblin using his newly learned skill, but his range was too far. Of course, his attack missed far.

"I escaped?! It's definitely not an ordinary Goblin!” Marco argued.

"Of course it's a normal Goblin!" Haruhiro snapped at him while exchanging glances with Udin.

Barto and Udin could definitely hold two opponents alone, so Haruhiro rushed to sneak right in

behind the Goblin who attacked Marco using his rusty sword.

"Damn it!" Marco sees Haruhiro, deflecting the Goblin's attack.

Stop staring at me! Haruhiro thought while deciding which point to target.

It was not only Marco who learned new fighting techniques. All Party members returning from the Guild

each of them has learned a new skill. However, they were all still at the stage of learning the technique in theory, and no one dared to apply it to actual combat. But without the courage to try to use the skill in battle, they would never master it.

Since he had paid a sum of money to learn a new technique, then Haruhiro was determined to use it in actual.

Easy to say, but hard to do. For some reason, the Goblin continued to focus on Haruhiro, the monster swung its sword at Haruhiro recklessly to stop any surprise attack that would be launched by him. Haruhiro had trouble finding the gap. If Marco can distract the monster .. but it seems like he can't be expected. Marco is not the type of fighter who can fight the enemy directly, and so is Haruhiro.

They were both afraid of facing the enemy head-on, and preferred to attack from behind, or at least from the side. That was why, both Haruhiro and Marco always surrounded the Goblin, and tried to attack from behind. Of course the Goblin did not want someone behind him, so he kept circling, and the next movement could not be predicted.

"Someone...do something!" Vina pulled Kukri and jumped towards the Goblin.

Surprised, the Goblin stopped moving for a while, and Vina swung her Kukrinya in a cross pattern.

"[CROSS CUT]!"

The goblins screamed and retreated quickly. He had superficial wounds from the shoulder to the chest. Now, he's headed back towards Haruhiro.

Now! Even as he thought that, his body was already moving. In an instant, he approached the Goblin

and thrust his dagger on the monster's back [BACKSTAB]. The Goblin's skin was quite soft, so Haruhiro's dagger had sunk four inches into his body. Haruhiro pulled him back and retreated, then the Goblin began to stagger.

The goblin coughed up blood, and it seemed that he was getting ready to do something. Then suddenly he fell, but he was still alive. Even under such circumstances, he still insisted on fighting back.

"Huh?" Haruhiro looked at the collapsed Goblin. And the Goblin looked back at her.”Did I ... stab him at the fatal point? Or wrong point?”

"I have to kill him!" Marco jumps towards the Goblin and slashes the monster's neck with his sword.”YESS! I got my Vice!”

Vina narrowed her eyebrows.”Vina thinks that Dark Knights are really barbaric.”

"I'm not a savage! I only have honorable abominations! We, the Dark Knights give

offerings to the God Skulheill. We seem to be inhumane and have no feelings. But we bleed knights and never shed a tear."

"Oom rel eckt," Alice chanted while drawing elemental letters that flew through the air with her wand.”Vel dash!"

Mages use the power of magical beings called Elementals, and Elemental shadows that have just

called by Alice looking like black and curly seaweed. It was a [SHADOW ECHO] spell magic, and it flew forward while making a strange VOOSHH sound.

Alice could choose to learn Alev, which is fire magic, Canon, which is ice magic, or even Pfatlz, which is lightning magic. But he instead chose Das, which is shadow magic. Haruhiro has a feeling that Alice may be revealing her true personality a little.

The shadow elemental smashed into the nape of the Goblin who was still fighting against Udin. However, it

not only did it affect his head, but rather the entire body of the monster began to tremble.

"Well! Gah!”The goblin screamed with a strange voice.

[SHADOW ECHO] is not a magic that burns, freezes, or stings, but rather deals damage through high-frequency waves. Udin was great, he continued Alice's attack by giving a punch using his stick, then kicking the Goblin until it collapsed.

"[HATRED’S CUT]!" Marco viciously attacks the fallen Goblin.

Attacking a collapsed enemy was a "special" skill Marco had. Logically, he would not even need to be a Dark Knight if his abilities were just that. Marco's sword slashed the air and did not hit his enemy. His catch was deflected after hitting the hard-boned side of the Goblin's head.

Marco was upset.

"DORC!! Who do you think you are?! Take-take this! And this! And this!” Marco shouted while hitting again and again.

While Marco “ abused the dying Goblin”, Barto was still fighting against the one remaining Goblin. They had to finish, but it seemed Haruhiro did not need to help. The goblin attacked wildly, screaming, and slashed at Barto with his rusty knife. Barto intercepts his attack perfectly, and uses a giant sword to fend off the rusty blade. The Goblin movement stopped.

Barto has the upper hand. He had considerable strength, and he had learned advanced techniques. While grunting, Barto fended off the Goblin knife with his own sabre, then he used it to cut off the Goblin's face, [SPIRAL SLASH]. Barto does not have speed, but he is quite agile. The goblin grimaced and retreated backwards.

Haruhiro shouted to give his spirit, "Majulah, Barto!" And Barto stepped forward, then he slashed diagonally with all his strength, yelling.”THANKS!!"

This Barto technique [RAGE CLEAVE] was the most basic skill taught to Warriors during training in the Warrior Guild. It looked like a technique that could be easily mastered just by watching, but it was very difficult to hit the enemy using that skill. The reason why Barto yelled "THANKS" when using [RAGE CLEAVE] was, he wanted to say "thank you for letting me kill you”.

But behind the words that seem compassionate, stored a great killer power.

The giant sword of Barto cut the Goblin from the top of the shoulder to the middle of the chest. He turned his sword and the Goblin shot up into the air, still pierced. Then, with brute force, Barto threw it far away. The goblin flew when Barto drew his sword.

Marco ran towards the Goblin, and shouted a deafening scream of victory. Then, he started “hijacking” Goblin by using his long sword. Vina not only thought that Marco's actions were brutal, but also completely barbaric. And when he finished cutting off the Goblin's body, he used a knife to cut off one of his pointed ears.

"Three Vice in a row!" He laughs with joy.”The total of all of them is 11, and it can upgrade my demonic-power! I could feel it, and I could call him to whisper something in the ears of the enemy, so that their attention was diverted! Cool!”

"What do you mean, 'I can feel it?" Haruhiro sigh.”So you can only feel it? Looks like the Demon belonging to the Dark Knight is useless on reality.”

"Hey! I heard that, Haruhiro!”Marco gushed back. ”Don't insult my Zodiac! I will subdue him to curse you!”

Apparently "Zodiac" was the name Marco gave his Demon. Or is that his real name? Or maybe it's a pet name? Haruhiro doesn't know, but it doesn't matter. That doesn't change the fact that it seems like the creature isn't much use

"After all, I was right. You can't even call the creature during the day, " said Haruhiro.

"Stupid! After I gather 11 Vice, then the Demon level will rise! Now I can call him at sunset and sunrise!”

"We have returned to Atalante at sundown, and no one wakes up at sunrise."

"Rubber. But. "Vina joined the conversation while puffing her cheeks. His eyes said he was angry. His facial expression is hard to read. ”Because the master is a person ****, then he is better like that.”

"I'm not the master! A demon is not like a pet! It's sort of me being overrun by a Demon. After all, he is a Demon!”

"So that means," Alice said with a gentle laugh and avoided Marco's gaze, "before you use it to curse Haruhiro…. You were the one who got cursed first.”

"Yes, I guess that's true. Wait....... WHAT?! Seriously?! Zodiac, is that true? Answer me, Zodiac! Oh, it's still daytime, so he won't listen to me…"

"Good work, everyone," Udin said as he looked at them with a smile. ”Did anyone get hurt? It doesn't seem like anything, but I'll heal anyone who's hurt. If everything is fine, let's see what the contents of the Goblin pouch this time.”

"Me! I. I'm…. Me! I'm gonna do it! Let me do it!” Marco offered himself up. Inside those three Goblin bags were seven silver, two seemingly precious stones, three fangs and bones that were not sure whether or not they could be sold, and several pieces of trash that had no price. Regardless of what price it would offer for the stone, it meant that they had obtained around ten silvers, or at least eight silvers.

They had left Atalante at seven o'clock in the morning, arrived at Damroww at about eight o'clock, and now it was past noon. They proceeded to bury the Goblin's corpse in a shallow pit, then took a lunch break not far from the place. Their lunch supplies were bread, dried meat, and

sort of. They put it on a backpack or bag. Lunch breaks are a fun time for them.

"Must be grateful." Vina cut off some of the dried meat she had packed, and placed it on the ground. Closing her eyes and clapping her hands, Vina prayed. ”Thank you, Eldritch. Here is an offering from us because you always give protection.”

"Is praying and giving offerings before eating.." Haruhiro asked as he bit the bread, "is something that the Hunter Guild needs?” He bought it from a Tattan Bakery store located outside Nishimachi. The bread was hard as a stone, but cheap and tasted quite delicious.

"Yes," Vina opened her eyes and turned to look at Haruhiro. ”The White Goddess Eldritch is a giant wolf, and a bad relationship between her and the Black God Rigel, who is also a giant wolf. We can hunt safely, this is all thanks to Eldritch.” protection

"In other words, the Hunters worship him, ‘kan?" Haruhiro. "Goddess Eldritch. Would it not matter to you, if you had to pray to an existence that was very uninformed about him?”

"It's okay," Vina laughed.”Eldritch is big-spirited, I don't think he's going to get angry just because of something like that ... Nothing makes him angry either.”

"I think ..." Alice held a kind of donut cake in her hand. ”Goddess Eldritch understands Vina's feelings. Or at least, I believe so ..”

Udin took a drink from the leather gourd, and nodded to approve it. ”Sure, words do matter, but more importantly the feeling behind the words. When we, the Priests, used light magic, the spell did not work if we recited the wrong spell, but it did not look like Vina's prayer on

Goddess Eldritch.”

"Vina is full of feelings" Vina said as she opened her arms wide. ”When Vina sleeps at night, Eldritch comes on in Vina's dream. Vina asks if he can ride Eldritch, and Eldritch says he can! Vina climbed onto his back, and Eldritch ran so fast! That's really awesome!"

"So," Marco said as he frowned and chewed the meat sheet in a noisy voice, "where is the funny part? I heard your story from earlier to find the funny part, so where's the funny part? If you haven't prepared the joke well, then I swear I'll hit you!”

"A joke?" Vina blinked and tilted her head.”No funny part.”

"What !?" Marco brandishes his index finger with lebay.”You idiot! What good is a long story without a joke?! What would you do if I drowned in disappointment?”

"Why indeed?" Said Alice in a small voice.”If you drown…. Yes just die.”

"Hey!" Marco points his finger at Alice.”Oi! Oi! I heard that! I heard what you said, Alice! You want me dead, don't you!”

"I'm just saying. What if you drown?”

"If you want me dead, just say it politely! You're so bad! You're the worst human I've ever met! Worst of the worst in history!”

"No need to think about it, Alice," Vina said as she hugged Alice and patted her head gently. ”You don't have to listen to the talk of this lowly creature. Alice did nothing wrong. This lowly creature is a bad man. He's so low, and can't even be called a human, geez.”

"I'm still human!"

"A messy-haired human?" Haruhiro said while defending the girls, "Yes, messy hair ..." then Marco glared at Haruhiro after he realized that he was being insinuated.

"The messy hair has nothing to do with this!" Marco said as he pulled his hair. ”In fact, messy-haired people are good people! People who are not messy-haired cannot be called human!”

"Then ..." Barto swallows bread the size of a fist.”It's okay if I'm not human."

"Vina too" said Vina.

"Me too" added Alice.

"Either." Haruhiro agrees.

"Wait," Udin said with an almost serious expression.”Let's think about it rationally. Is messy hair really a problem? I don't think that's a problem. There is absolutely nothing wrong with messy hair and also the owner of the hair. In fact, messy hair is probably

victim here ...”

"Huh?" Marco pulls his hair.”The victim? My hair? Does that mean that I am the suspect ?! And does that mean messy hair will be a bad thing!?”

"Marco, I'm just kidding."

"Cursed you Udin! You always grin when you say everything, so I can't guess if you're serious or not! You are a thick masked traitor!”

"D-He's not so!" Alice suddenly stood up with her face reddened. He looked so angry that there was steam floating from his head. ”Udin is not a traitor! Pull back your words!”

Marco jerked.”H-hey, even so, I have a point, right? I also have the right to ridicule others."

"Pull back your words!" Indict Alice.

"Good! I-i understand. I'll take back my words. Udin is not a traitor. And he never wears a thick mask. He is a white soul. Likewise with his body. Her body is very white. I see her body every time I shower with her. So white. Sangaaaat white. It's too white to be the size of a man. Women will be envious when they see it”

"White ..." Alice swayed back and forth.”Udin Body... white ..”.

"Whiter than a girl, yes," Udin lifted up his Priest robe and also the shirt under the cloak.”I don't think so. Haruhiro, is my body that white?”

"Er, yahhh ..." Haruhiro looked at Alice and Udin in turn, many times.

Her stomach was white, but Alice's skin was more beautiful. But that's not the problem. Haruhiro already suspected this. But now he was increasingly convinced that Alice liked Udin. Didn't Udin notice it? If so, Haruhiro felt sorry for him. However, he also had the feeling that Udin was actually aware of this.

"I guess your body is quite white, ahhh now I just realized. Yeah, very white. And your skin is also very smooth, " said Haruhiro.

"Skin... smooth ..." Looks like Alice could faint at any time.”Skin ... smooth ..."

"Alice .. are you okay?" Vina moved to support Alice's wobbly body.”You can't fantasize too deeply. You better fantasize once in a while. The alice? Alice?”

Alice sighed heavily, then leaned on Vina, in a daze.

Oops, Haruhiro thought. Maybe I'm overreacting ... But at that moment, he realized how attractive and sweet the girl named Alice was.

Marco scoffed with disdain and ignored them. He began to eat his provisions, while emitting a fed up aura. Is it possible that Marco was jealous because he also liked Alice? And Alice seems to be interested in Udin, so Marco is angry about it?

If that is the case, Marco will have to rethink things. All this time he hasn't done anything

it can also make girls interested in him. In fact, everything he did only made the girls even more hate him.

"We've really been a good team" Udin whispered.

"Oh?" Answer Haruhiro.

"We can kill three Goblins at once without any problem, and now nobody gets hurt. Vina became more proficient in using Kukri from the bow. In fact, he was already good at using both types of weapons. If we plan carefully we might be able to kill four Goblins at once.”

"I understand ..." Haruhiro thought about it for a moment.

Barto and Udin could kill one Goblin each. While he himself, Marco, and Vina will handle the other two Goblins. Alice could immediately cripple a Goblin with the [SHADOW ECHO] skill. If the others could kill their opponents quickly, then the Goblin that had been crippled by Alice's magic could definitely be finished off easily.

"Yes, we might be able to handle four Goblins at once," Haruhiro agreed. "Barto is very necessary for us. He was so big, that his existence alone had already intimidated the opponent. He can also use his giant sword with good accuracy, so that when he swings it, a crushing blow will land on the opponent.”

"I think so too," said Haruhiro.”Barto's swordplay is quite proficient."

Barto swallows another fist of bread.”H-really? I don't understand, but it seems like I like doing work that requires precision and accuracy.”

"It doesn't suit you!" Marco exploded in anger for no apparent reason, leaving Barto undaunted. ”Or at least that's what I think."

Haruhiro glared lightly at Marco. ”Barto is pretty good. At least, he wasn't as bad as the reckless messy-haired man whose words always hurt others."

"Oh?" Marco reply. ”Are you talking about me? You know that my nickname is “Accurate Tornado Machine”, right?”

Vina who was still patting Alice's head to calm her down, peeked at Marco with a cold look.”Vina was convinced that no one else had ever called her by such a nickname."

"Marco is so amazing "the serious expression of Udin shows that this time he is not joking.”He always attacked, attacked, and attacked with all his might. He was never afraid of failure, so he would probably master the skill faster than anyone. Everything, including myself, we tend to

avoid risk. If not for Marco, we would never have started an attack.”

"Is that so?" Marco's expression casts doubt.”In that case, my nickname now is the Attacker Tornado Machine?”

"Keep the Accurate Tornado Machine?" Haruhiro said that to correct him.

"And Alice ..." Udin stop. It seemed that Udin had to be careful when he was about to judge Alice, as the girl's feelings were very fragile. ”Alice has a good understanding of greater range. The effect of Das spells is to confuse or sting the enemy, and also support the team in a battle. He chose

to learn shadow magic, so that he can help us in an emergency. Isn't that right, Alice?”

Alice looked fascinated for a moment, then she fell silent but nodded. Haruhiro also thought that Alice's nature was like that. The girl preferred to choose a more specialized Das spell, rather than a common spell like fire, ice, or lightning that was easy to understand. Maybe it didn't really suit her, but Alice never chose anything just because she liked it. He chose something based on what all the Party members needed most.

I'm idiots. Thought Haruhiro. I really don't know at all.

Next, Udin turned his gaze to Vina.”Vina is very brave. Maybe he is the bravest of us all. As a healer, I sometimes wish that he was more careful. But if there is danger, Vina will not think long to help.”

"Is that so?" Vina pointed at herself. Expressions soften. ”Vina is not so afraid when fighting anyway, but so far no one has called Vina as brave. Maybe you're right. Sorry because Vina is not good at playing the bow, even though Vina is a Hunter.”

"Everyone has his own weaknesses, and things he can't do well" Udin told himself. ”Maybe that weakness will be a fatal point for us, but we are a team. We cover each other's weaknesses.”

"Right," Vina nodded a few times. ”Very right. From now on, the flashing is not to the detriment of the team, and Vina will do her best for it.”

Marco mocking.”Sepentile? Mean important? Try saying everything correctly. Terpentile has no meaning.”

Vina directly covered the chest with her hands. ”Vina wonders, what it's like to have a well-fitting chest. It must be different from Vina's current possession.”

It was better to immediately stop this conversation, so Haruhiro interrupted, "Maybe yours is a type KW II."

Vina looked at Haruhiro, with a completely serious expression. "Haru, do you really think so?"

"Err. Who knows?"

"What do you mean by KW II's chest? Does it look cute?”

"D-C.. ..." Barto began to say. Everyone's attention was suddenly drawn to him. Sweat suddenly began to pour on his forehead, and he rubbed it with one hand.”U-uh ... Never mind. Really, forget it."

"Now I'm getting curious" Alice said as she continued to stare at Barto.

Barto turned his gaze to the ground and after a while, he finally said, "Sorry."

With his apology, then no one else looked at him ... What the hell was he trying to say? Alice was not the only one who was curious.

The conversation lasted for a while until they finished lunch. Then the search for Goblins in the afternoon began. However, Haruhiro realized something strange. Udin had already praised others a lot, but he did not say a word about Haruhiro. Maybe Udin just happened to forget about her. Or maybe he doesn't deserve the credit.

Did Udin demean Haruhiro? Although they often spoke, whether Udin was just looking at him

as someone who wants to liven up the atmosphere? That's a sad thought. But that doesn't mean Haruhiro can get close to Udin right now, and then asks bluntly "Hey, what about me?"

Expecting praise from others is a sad thing.

Forget it, he told himself.

Maybe Udin just forgot, or maybe when Udin was about to praise him, the topic of conversation had changed unintentionally, so he preferred to continue the conversation. It must be one of those two things, and that's Haruhiro's assumption. With such positive thoughts, little heart Haruhiro felt

sedikti (very little) is better.

Concentration. He must concentrate on the task at hand.

Haruhiro raised his hand, as a signal for the team to pause. "Something's in there ..."

The scouts were at the forefront, so all the Party members quickly went into hiding. And as usual, Haruhiro had to come forward alone. Sometimes, Marco was still willing to accompany Haruhiro to come forward, but to be honest, it was better if he did not rely on the man.

Of course, he as much as possible did not make a sound when moving. But once he had enough money, he wanted to learn the Thief [STEALTH WALK] skill. There must be some kind of trick to being able to move around secretly, and he wanted to learn that. She wanted Master Barbara to teach her.

There is a Goblin located on the ruins of a two-story building made of stone. Some of the second-floor balconies had already collapsed, and some of the walls on the first floor had also collapsed. But on the remains of the balcony there is an armored Goblin with a sword tied to his back. The other goblins were sitting on the first floor. The body is big enough to be the size of a Goblin.

The normal Goblin body size was as tall as a human child, as for the rather large Goblin measuring 4 feet. Any Goblin that reaches a height of more than 4.5 feet is considered a giant. Even so, the Goblin who was sitting on the first floor looked different. It was hard to tell from this distance, but it seemed he was more

bigger than the Goblins on the remains of the second floor.

[1 foot = 30.48 cm, then 4 feet = 122 cm.]

This was Haruhiro's first time seeing Goblins like that, and he also did not clearly see the type of weapons carried by them. Clearly, they were wearing armor on his body. Haruhiro continued to scout the area around the building, but there were no other Goblins around him. So, Haruhiro concluded that their opponent this time was only the armored Goblin and the giant Goblin. He also went back to where the others were.

"Bad news," he reported.”There are only two, but one of them is huge. It's almost the same height as us.”

Udin's eyes widened slightly. ”He is Hobgoblin. That is, another Goblin species, but larger and more powerful than Goblins in general. They are quite savage but not so intelligent. Sometimes, other Goblins use it as a waitress.”

Marco licked his lips.”If he had a servant, then he would have been quite rich. That is, he must have brought a number of valuable items.”

Haruhiro scratched his chin with a fingertip. ”Maybe it's true. He was wearing armor, and the Hobgoblins were also wearing armor as well as a helmet. It seems that the helmet is too big if we wear it on the head.”

Barto sighed loudly. For Warrior, a profession that requires him to face the enemy directly, protective equipment is the most important equipment. However, the price of armor was very expensive. They were unable to afford new types of armor, so the only option was to get armor that was the right size to fit his body, and was extremely rare. Or go to Blacksmith to adjust the size of the used armor. Therefore, neither they nor Barto to date have merely worn the used protective gear provided by their Guilds

respectively.

"Two Goblins." Udin lowered his gaze down while thinking.

Vina's eyes pointed at the sky as she said, "If it's only two, Vina thinks we can finish them off easily.”

"If I could seal one of them with my magic." said Alice while confirming the grip on the stick, "it would not be difficult afterwards."

"Vina will also try to attack with a bow. Although Vina often missed, Vina's arrow will definitely attract the attention of the Goblin .”

Udin glanced at each Party member in turns. Perhaps this was because Udin had praised them, but clearly, their spirit was burning and all the Party members wanted to take part in the hunt this time. The tension in the air is thicker than usual. Perhaps only Haruhiro was not particularly excited as he was not praised by Udin, yet he did not want to spoil the atmosphere.

"Let's do it."

A battle plan was made quickly. Haruhiro, Vina, and Alice will attack first from a distance. Once the enemy realized they were being attacked, Barto and Udin would take up positions on the front lines. While Barto handled the Hobgoblin, Udin would serve the Goblin in armour. Haruhiro, Marco, and Vina will emphasize the attacks from the sides, while Alice supports them with long-range magic.

The entire team formed a circle while facing each other, and stacked their hands in the middle.

"Fights!" Udin shouted it out in a low voice, and the other Party members responded in unison "Everything or nothing!" with a soft voice.

They had started a small pre-fight ritual some time ago, but in Haruhiro's heart, he had always felt that it was a strange ritual. ”Why should you say 'Fight!’ and ‘Everything or nothing'?” Thought it hard.

Alice tilted her head to one side. ”I don't know .. but somehow, I'm no stranger to such exclamations.”

"Vina has the same feeling" Vina said. ”But Vina doesn't know why. It's weird."

Haruhiro leads Vina and Alice to a two-story building. Udin, Barto, and Marco followed at a distance of about twenty feet behind. The Vina arrow had a longer range, but Alice's magic was only 30 feet in range. Would they be able to approach a Goblin within a 30-foot radius without being detected?

It will not be easy, or even impossible, because the building is fenced by wall debris that seems still quite sturdy. There is an open space about 50 feet between the wall and the building itself. When they crossed the wall, the Goblins would definitely notice them.

Haruhiro approached Alice. A faint sweet fragrance filled his nose. Haruhiro's lips that were close to Alice's ears whispered something, "Alice, are you wearing perfume?"

"Huh? What are you talking about?” Said Alice.

"Err, stop. Excuse me. It's a bit far, but get your magic regarding Goblins from here?”

"I'm not sure enough .. but I'll try."

Alice pressed her hands to her chest, and tried to take a quiet breath. Vina took out one child

arrow from its place, and curl the bow in the ready position. None of the Goblins looked at them. Vina and Alice simultaneously took half a step forward to leave the barrier wall, and Alice drew a flying elemental letter using her wand.

"Oom rel eckt vel dashboard!"

A shadow Elemental that was shaped like a black curly ball exploded from the end of his stick, with a loud VOOOSSH sound! At the same time, Vina released her arrows. The arrow flew over the armoured Goblin's head, making him shocked, then the Elemental magic hit the Hobgoblin on the left arm. Hobgoblins snorted, as his entire body began to tremble.

The armored goblins turned around, then looked towards them.

"They've seen us!" Haruhiro Shouts.

"Let's attack!" Udin gave the order.

The hobgoblin picked up a large thorny significance lying near his feet, and began to rise with a staggering motion. The [SHADOW ECHO] spell has worked well. The armored goblin was also holding something. What is that thing? Some kind of weapon? The object was straight in shape, and was furnished by a sort of miniature arc at the end. And the Goblins were armoured to aim the thing directly at Haruhiro and the others.

Haruhiro quickly grabbed Vina and Alice's shoulders, then opened his mouth to warn

they took refuge in the wall. But before those words came out, arrows shot towards them. Vina and Alice fall backwards as they are pulled by Haruhiro. He snorted and retreated quickly.

Then, there was pain. Right arm. An arrow. I don't know when that happened, but one

the arrow was stuck in his right arm. It hurts. Pain, pain, SAKIIIIIT ONCE. He bent down, squatted, and groaned. No matter moving or being silent, the pain continued to sting intensely. The pain could barely make him breathe.

Alice was shocked when she saw him.

"Himaru!" Vina placed her hands on her back gently.

Haruhiro groaned in pain. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Because the pain is so bad. Is he going to die? He's gonna die, right? Deaths. Not likely. He doesn't want to die. But this pain….. GET SICK. Help me .. anyone .. This is really bad. He won't stand it.

"Mahiro!"

That was Udin's voice. Udin came to him. And without any warning, he pulled an arrow out of Haruhiro's arm. When the arrow was plucked, Haruhiro felt a lump of flesh gouging along. Blood flowed from the wound that was quite wide and deep. Udin, I'm gonna die. You're gonna kill me so I don't overload this team, just do it...

But Udin did not notice as he immediately formed a hexagram with his hand and began chanting the mantra, "Oh, light, under the protection of the Luminous God ... [CURE].”

The light shed from Udin's hands began to bandage Haruhiro's wounds. Even though he was being healed,

the pain has not faded at all. Haruhiro flinched and flinched and flinched again. The pain was so bad that he had trouble breathing.

Eventually, the pain began to subside. He was finally able to breathe normally, yet he was still hesitatingly touching his right hand. His arm was submerged in blood, but it no longer hurt like that.

"Tam!" It was a call from Marco. ”Quick! I can't keep holding it!”

"Are you going to be okay?!" Udin shouted at Haruhiro, and Haruhiro started to nod. But Udin was already moving away when he did that.

Oh, true. While Udin was healing Haruhiro, the others were still fighting. Haruhiro glanced

building and seeing Barto fighting Hobgoblin, while Marco and Vina fighting Goblin in armour. Does Udin intend to go to support Marco and Vina? Alice hit Hobgoblins using the [MAGIC MISSILE] spell, but the magic barely affected her.

Haruhiro panicked. If Udin were to join Marco and Vina, they might be able to overcome the armored Goblin. But they also had to do something to Hobgoblin.

"Hold, Bartp!" Shouted Haruhiro excitedly, while he prepared towards the back of the Hobgoblins.

Hobgoblins must have focused only on Barto, because he did not pay attention to Haruhiro's arrival at all. If that happens, then Haruhiro should be able to easily levitate [BACKSTAB] on his enemy. But for some reason, he had trouble approaching the monster, so his skill could not be activated. The hobgoblin was slightly taller than Haruhiro, but he was not as tall as Barto. After all, Barto's stature is much wider.

The thorny buttocks were made of wood, but it was quite heavy and thick. If hit by the object, even the steel armor belonging to Barto will be dented. Moreover, the steel armor that Hobgoblins wore further compounded the problem. Not only the body is protected by armor, but also the legs and head. In other words, almost

there was no place for Haruhiro to plug his dagger. The entire body of the Goblin was covered by armor.

“THANK YOU!!" Barto shouted the Warrior's call while using the skill [RAGE CLEAVE].

Haruhiro almost shouted to encourage Barto, but the words stuck in his throat. Barto's giant sword hit Goblin's left shoulder, but the blow did not scare him. Even his opponent did not launch a quick counterattack. Then the Goblin swung his seat, and Barto hardly

able to deflect the attack. No, actually Barto did not deflect the attack. That punch was what caused him to stumble backwards. Horses fucked. It's pretty bad. Barto will soon collapse.

Haruhiro rammed himself into Hobgoblin's back. He tried to scuttle his opponent, while thrusting his dagger simultaneously. The knife produced a deafening noise when scraping metal. It's no use. His weapon could not penetrate the armor. But whatever it was, Haruhiro temporarily managed to distract the Hobgoblin. And now the Hobgoblin swung his seat towards Haruhiro. He jumped, and almost hit by the blunt object.

However, this is bad. She's afraid. He felt like all his internal organs were falling out. He felt as if half his life had already been plucked out by the death angel. He retreated unconsciously.

"I-I can't do this .." whispered to myself.

"Oom rel eckt vel dashboard!" Alice chanted the spell again. The shadow elemental hit the side of Hobgoblin, and he was violently shaken.

Barto swung his giant sword at Hobgoblin's trembling, motionless head. Spark fire

it flew when the sword clashed with the helmet, and made it curve inward. The monster staggered too.

"Now!" Shouted Haruhiro as he rushed towards his opponent with a fist.

Hobgoblins are scary indeed, but if they can knock them to the ground ... However, before Haruhiro could get up, Udin shouted his name. ”Haruhiro, over here! Marco is ..!”

"What?!" Haruhiro sees that Marco has collapsed, and blood seeps from his neck. ”He got an incision in the neck!?"

While Udin heals Marco's wounds, Vina is forced to face the Goblin in 1 vs. 1 armor. The goblin swung his sword at Vina, and continued to corner her. Its bad. Haruhiro is forced to confront the Goblin, and interrupts between the monster and Vina.

"Oi, Gob…..! Over here!"

Haruhiro tried to distract him, but the focus of the armored Goblin was not entirely poured out on him. Now, he and Vina must face the armored Goblin. No way, Haruhiro's condition had not fully recovered, and that meant it was impossible for him to face the monster despite having the support of Vina. The armored goblin swung a sword that was almost the same length as Marco's. He avoided his attack. Holding back, fending off, and dodging was all he could do right now.

This goblin was different from the other Goblins he had been facing all along. He is fast, agile, and Haruhiro has a feeling that this creature has trained well with his weapons, because he plays his sword quite dexterously. Haruhiro only survives by relying on a dagger, and if he makes one mistake then, he himself does not know what will happen.

Is Barto okay alone? Haruhiro was worried, but he was not given a second chance to take his gaze away from the armored Goblin.

"[SWEEPING SLASH]!" Vina attacked the armored Goblin from behind.

It was an attack skill using Kukri, but the Goblin had read his movements. That monster

twisting his body to fend off Vina's attack, then replying with a stalk that caused Vina's Kukri to slip out of his grasp. The armored goblin prepared to finish off Vina with the final strike.

"I won't let you!" Haruhiro threw his own body to pounce on him, but the Goblin had also expected the attack.

His sword turned towards Haruhiro. No way! Haruhiro thought so. He still had time to swing his dagger to fend off the saber, but he could not completely stop the speed of the sword. The Goblin sword swiped and slid at the edge of Haruhiro's dagger, and there was a loud whirring sound. Even [CROSS GURAD] could not stop that.

The Goblin Sword was slightly immersed in his right arm, so it again made him shout due to the sting of pain. Haruhiro's dagger was out of his hand. The goblins moved, and gave a final attack. I will be cut off, Haruhiro thought.

"[ANGER THRUST]!" It was an attack from Marco. The ultimate attack of the armored Goblin misses its target.

Marco had jumped from the side, and thrust his sword tip at the Goblin. The monster fell down, and

he managed to avoid Marco's attack. Just a short pause, the monster launched a counterattack. Marco retreated backwards and sideways.

"Damn! Stop moving, you rich goblin!” Marco swears.

Marco's face was pale and he was sweating profusely. The wound has healed, but the blood that has been shed cannot

refunded. Despite that, he managed to save Haruhiro. Twice Haruhiro almost lost his life today. His arm is badly injured. The Goblin Sword had cut with a deep wound. The pain caused him to be unable to move his right arm, so he forced himself to pick up the dagger with his left hand.

"Mahiro!" Udin came and immediately prepared a light magic spell.”O light, under the protection of Lord Luminous ... [CURE].”

Haruhiro gritted his teeth against the pain. When his wound healed, he directly observed the area

approximate. Barto, somehow, managed to survive all the Hobgoblin attacks with great difficulty. His feet are starting to wobble. Alice crouched down, it seemed like she was exhausted from using too much magic. They could no longer expect help from him.

Haruhiro had a feeling that even though Marco was a careless person, he might be able to hold Goblins in armour for longer. It turned out that Vina's arm was also scratched, and blood poured out from her wound.

"Done," said Udin. Haruhiro touched his arm to check that the wound had healed. He turned his gaze towards Vina.

"Vina! In here! Udin will heal you!” Haruhiro Shouts.

"Vina with papa!" heard an answer from him.”Vina can still go on!"

"Haruhiro, change his position! Vina, come here!” Udin.

However, when it came to exchanging positions, Haruhiro's mind was filled with uncertainty. He realized that Udin's breathing was a little breathless. Has he used his magic too much? Haruhiro's class is Thief, so he doesn't know about the rules of magic. He was confused who to follow. Should he obey his heart

alone, or Udin's orders. Of course he believed in Udin more than himself. Doesn't matter. Everything must be fine. There should be no doubt in his heart.

Haruhiro exchanged positions with Vina. He wanted to put pressure on the armored Goblin, but hesitation made him unable to do anything. If he attacked, he was afraid of receiving a counterattack. Did Marco think the same of him? The goblins were too skilled. There was no hole in his defense that could be pierced through.

The goblin also wore a helmet on its head. It was a Goblin that was not only equipped with armor, but also a helmet. Not likely. Although Haruhiro could land a blow with his dagger, it would only be condensed by the armor. The same thing will happen to Marco's sword. What about Barto's giant sword? But Barto was still bothered by Hobgoblin attacks so he could not handle 2 opponents at once.

Checkmate, Haruhiro suddenly thought so. They've been cornered. They can't win the fight this time. There was no way they could win this time. But he already knew about it. He had already realized that he had lost a great deal, even before this battle took place. What would happen if they lost? What would happen if they were defeated? Are they going to die? Will they all die?

Haruhiro glanced at Udin, who was about to finish healing Vina's wounds. After they finished, the two of them approached Haruhiro's side.

"Haruhiro, help Barto!" said Udin, and Haruhiro nodded reflexively.

He wasn't sure if leaving them both was a good idea, but Barto really needed help. Haruhiro moves to take a position on the fight against Hobgoblin.

Then something happened. Hobgoblins chanted a terrible screech, swinging a barbed club at Barto. He moved his giant sword to block, but he could not stop Hobgoblin's attack completely. Hobgoblins attacked again, again, and continued to rain down on Barto. It was only made of wood, but the weapon did not break. Barto, seemingly exhausted, grabbed his sword with both hands. He gripped the handle and tip of the sword to block the Hobgoblin's blow. The attack was truly incredible, and he was forced to kneel down to defend

his body does not collapse. Blood flowed on his head as one of the thorns pierced the side of his head.

Hobgoblin kicked Barto to the ground, and he delivered the final blow. If Haruhiro

letting that happen, then .. This is very bad. Very bad. Haruhiro ignored his hesitation to defend, and directly attacked Hobgoblin's back. He targeted the monster's arm, but it seemed impossible.

Haruhiro managed to ride the monster, but Hobgoblin thrashed to bring himself down. The monster let out a long howl full of anger.

"Forward, Haruhiro! Keep bothering him!” Udin shouted while healing Barto.

Not likely. It was impossible for Haruhiro to continue to last any longer. Hobgoblin elbowed her ribs so hard, that Haruhiro almost lost consciousness. Its bad. If he faints, then it'll all be over. If he is thrown, he will die. He's definitely gonna die.

This was the moment when something truly frightening happened. He did not know what was really going on, but he was sure that his body was thrown and his back hit the ground. Hobgoblins kicked him before he could get up, thus making him even more stuck on the ground. He can't breathe.

"B-Ban ...." He croaked. Help me ... He did not know who was coming to help. Yet someone was actually approaching towards him.

It was Udin. He landed the [SMASH] skill on Hobgoblin's head using his short stick. Hobgoblin had a helmet to protect his head from being hit, however, it seemed like Udin's technique was enough to give him a mild concussion.

"Hurry up!" Shouted Udin. ”Haruhiro, wake! Run on! Everybody, run!"

Yes, Haruhiro thought as he jumped to his feet. Run, right too. They had no choice but to flee. He turned around to leave, then suddenly stopped. "What about you?!"

Udin attempted to retreat even as he continued to attack Hobgoblin.”Of course I'll catch up! Hurry up, and run first!”

Barto, whose head wound had just healed, focused his gaze on the armored Goblin, then he shouted, “STILL!" He attacked him with the skill [RAGE CLEAVE]. He missed, but it managed to make the armored Goblin hesitate to attack.

Marco and Vina turned around to escape, and Alice had also fled. The armored goblin screamed and grabbed Barto's back with his sword, but thanks to his armor, Barto did not suffer any injuries. Haruhiro was right behind them, and he turned to look at Udin as he continued to run.

"Udin, everyone's running!" Shouts.”Quickly follow!"

"I know!" Udin replied, as he leaped back and gave Hobgoblin two consecutive strikes on the chest.

Hobgoblin faltered and Udin quickly turned around, then ran. The armored goblin sheathed the sword he had been using since then, then pulled out his other weapon. They are not out of danger yet. Haruhiro concentrated on continuing to run forward. Just then, the Goblin armored something at them. It swirled in the air, before finally hitting Udin right on his back.

A sigh rang out from Udin's mouth, and he seemed to have trouble running.

"Tam!" Haruhiro Shouts.

Udin immediately replied even though he had trouble restoring his balance. ”I'm fine!"

His legs look solid, maybe it's just a minor injury. Hobgoblins and armored Goblins continued to chase behind. They have to keep running. Keep running. Fortunately, they made a map. Now it is felt that the knowledge of the layout of the city of Damroww is very useful. They did not get lost as they continued to flee. They were also able to avoid the areas that other Goblins would often pass through.

Haruhiro and the others kept running. They ran even with breathless breathing, and

fatigue continued to weigh on their steps. It was as if their lives did not last longer. They continued running until they no longer saw the pursuers. And the first one to stop running was Udin.

No, actually he didn't stop his run. More precisely, he collapsed to the ground.

"U-Diiinn.." Haruhiro tried calling Udin's name, but not a word came out of his throat.

His back. Udin's Back. Something was sticking out of his back. Something that has a knife. That

it is a curved knife. It looked like a throwing knife. None of the party members could say those words. Everyone looked at him, but not a word came from their mouths. Silent. What can they say?

Udin gasped, trying to stand up. But he can't. All he could do was roll over. ”I suppose ... no problem... if .... you guys .... go .... first ..”.

"Tam!" Haruhiro knelt down by Udin's side. Would it be okay if he touched her? Doesn't it matter? He doesn't know. ”Udin ..lukamu .. healing magic! Use healing magic to heal your own wounds ..”

"Right." His right hand moved to touch his forehead, but it immediately fell limp back to the ground, as if every single energy had dried up. ”My magic ... I can't ... use it ..."

"Don't talk!" Shouted Marco.”Take it easy, don't try to talk! What are we going to do?” He begged the others.

Alice staggered to Udin's side, then knelt on the ground near Haruhiro. He held out his hand, and

when her trembling fingers touched the knife stuck in Udin's back, the girl immediately pulled her hand back. An expression that could not be revealed appeared on his face.

Udin's face was like that too. Not only white, but very pale. Barto's body stopped moving and stiffened like a rock, he was like a huge statue.

"Whoa ..." Vina was rummaging her hair so that it was getting tangled. ”What should we do?"

"What ... what does it mean ..." Haruhiro felt like his chest was torn to shreds.

What do they have to do? Think on! What can they do? There must be some way! They can't just sit there on their hands! Udin, please tell us ... Please ... Tell us what to do ... Udin .... But Udin's breathing was getting lower and weaker.

"You'll be fine," said Haruhiro.”You'll be fine, so hang in here ... Hang on, okay?”

Udin looked at Haruhiro.”... Haru .. hiro ..."

"What's wrong? Udin, what's up?”

"I ... I .. sorry ..."

"What's? Wh why? What's for?"

"I .. can't .. everything ... Haru .. hiro .. please ..."

"Please? Please what? What do you want me to do? No.... no, do not say such things, Udin ...”

"I .. can't see ... Is ... everything ... is here?"

"Yes! We're all here! Udin, everything's here, so don't go!"

Udin seemed to be exhaling deeply, as if he was sighing.

"No! Don't leave! Udin! You can't leave! Don't go, Udin! Please ... don't go ..”

He inhaled, then exhaled again. And at that moment, his eyes seemed to sparkle as if they were turning into glass.

Alice puts a hand on her chest.”The heart stopped ..."

"Breath help! Give him a breath of help!” Marco shouts at Haruhiro who he thinks has better insight than he does.

They began to breath in relief, as if it would solve everything. They all talk simultaneously about what to do. They pulled out a knife and stretched out the man, then gave him a mouth-to-mouth breath of relief.

Minutes passed, tens of minutes passed, perhaps even more than an hour passed as they tried to save his life.

"T-Shouldn't I... We just stop?" Barto looked like he was going to cry. ”Still Udin ... We don't have to do that to her anymore …"

"Then what should we do?!" Haruhiro snapped with anger, before finally his calm returned. He continued speaking in a soft tone.

"What should we do? We can't leave him here alone. We can't just leave Udin here.”

"Magic." Alice looks. Her eyes are swollen and red. ”Maybe there's a way to save her with magic. Light magic can cure it.”

"That's right," Vina said as she nodded vigorously.”Alice's right. Magic must be working on him. Definitely work. We can take him to the Priest Guild, and their temple.”

"The Temple of the Luminous God?" Alice wiped the tears off her cheeks using the back of her hand.”I have to go there? You told the servant of the Dark God Skulheill to go to the enemy territory?”

Barto lifts Udin in his arms.”I'll take him."

"Let's go, let's go" Haruhiro said, giving a nod.

Marco and Haruhiro offered Barto to take Udin in turns, but Udin refused. He wanted to carry Udin alone from the northern end of Atalante, all the way to the Luminous God Temple. As they set foot inside the temple, they were stopped by a group of men dressed identically as Udin.

One of them seemed to recognize Udin. It seems his name is Master Honnen. The master himself came to meet them. His body was quite sturdy and mighty, and he looked more like a Warrior than a Priest.

The first thing that came out of his mouth was, "What has happened?"

His voice was quite distinctive, it reminded Haruhiro that Udin had once told of his Master being so resolute, and his voice was deafening. The memories he had with Udin came out of his mind, and he could not stand it anymore. He knelt before Master Honnen.

"Please! Please help Udin! I'll do whatever you want! Please save her!” Haruhiro pleads.

"Slummy Boy!" Master Honnen's voice boomed. ”Even the Luminous God of Light that shines brightly cannot bring the dead to life! Udin, you *****! You're an easy kid who has rare and promising talent. We educate you with high expectations, and teach you the best healing magic, yet you have wasted your own life!”

"YOU SHIT!" Marco hurriedly stepped forward to grab Master Honnen's collar.

Vina stopped him while interrupting, "No, no!"

Marco scowled against him, probably because he saw a torrent of tears on Master Honnen's cheeks. Alice could only fall glued to the cold temple floor Barto was still standing while frozen. Despite that, he still held Udin in his arms.

"The only thing we can do for him is.." although his tears are still pouring out, Master Honnen spoke in a voice as loud as a rock, "burying it properly. On this frontier, the dead who were not properly buried would receive the curse of the Wright King and become one of his servants.

Usually, the transformation into a zombie will take 5 days. However, some people only take 3 days to fate the same.”

For some reason, Haruhiro suddenly wants to laugh, even though he knows that this is not the right time to laughSo, you want to cremate him?” ask Haruhiro.

"Yes. You need to put it on the crematorium where we can burn his body. It is located outside Atalante. To prevent the curse, after his body was purified by the fire, his ashes would be buried at the top of the hill."

"One more thing," said Haruhiro, "if I may ask."

"Ask what?"

"Does that require money?"

"I'll pay if you don't have money."

"No" Haruhiro sighed. It was a very deep sigh along with a raging rage of anger. He doesn't know who to be angry with. Does he have to be angry at himself who is useless and stupid? "We'll pay for it. It's not that we don't have money. Even though we don't have enough money, somehow

the way, we'll think of a way out. Udin was more than a friend to me we were teammates, and he was also a valuable companion. We owe him a lot.”
