chapter 16 Secrets of the Heart

Aqila fell asleep in class with her head bowed on the table until the English lesson ended, Rizal deliberately let her know that Aqila had experienced a heavy inner shock. He woke up when Laras shook his shoulder.

"Aqila, go home yuk" asked Laras

"Laras, why didn't you wake me when Rizal sir came?" aqila asked regretfully

"Pak Rizal seems to have deliberately let you rest" Laras replied with a smile

They left the empty classroom to the school gate. Ibu Laras had been waiting in front of the school gate as usual and Laras hugged his mother spoiled. They split after the white Avanza car brought Baras to his destination.

Aqila came home on foot in the hot sun, she used to walk every time she left and went home from school to save money given by her mother. A shiny black Pajero car approached him, Arif's face was plastered along with the opening of the car window.

"Aqila, let's go up" Arif asked

"Thank you for the offer, but I'd like to walk" Aqila said, shaking her head.

Arif did not want to give up, he got out of the car and approached Aqila.

"If so, I will also go on foot" Arif said with a smile.

Aqila was stunned, she pegged for a while for not knowing how to behave.

"Where would Arif walk?" ask Aqila

"In your house" said Arif relaxed

"Hah" Aqila was shocked

"maha..." Arif laughed happily at Aqila's shocked expression

Arif did not reply but instead looked at Aqila

"Can't I stop by your house?" ask Arif

Aqila shook her head

"Why?" arif asked, he was not satisfied with Aqila's attitude.

Aqila took a deep breath

"Because we don't have a house. Mother chose to take a walk in a room through a narrow alley at the end of the road, about two kilometers from here" replied Aqila

"Two kilometers? do you go out and go home every day to go that far?" arif asked to make sure he was worried he heard wrong

"yes" said Aqila

"Then I'm more determined to accompany you because this is my first experience" Arif said with a smile. He then approached his car and ordered that the driver not have to drive him again.

Wanting Aqila to prevent Arif's crazy decision but he had no power, he finally gave up. Arif is happy to be able to walk with Aqila even though the heat of the sun burns her skin. Arif was astonished by the distance traveled and the many narrow alleys that passed through him even though Aqila had said before. Arif was so concerned to see the number of small children who looked thin and dry as malnourished, he bought a lot of chocolate and sweets and then distributed them to the little ones, and in an instant the number of children increased until there were some children who did not part. Arif then buys more chocolates and marinades to hand out back to the little ones until everything is evenly split, their innocent smile and thanks to him cools Arif's heart. Arif and Aqila also smiled happily infected by the joy of the small children who were still innocent.

After walking far enough, Aqila finally reached her residence, she asked Arif to wait outside to change clothes, then returned and let Arif enter. Arif then entered and sat on the floor, his eyes exploring the condition of Aqila's narrow and seedy residence, there was a sense of pity that appeared in his heart. Warm tea water was served to her then Aqila came out for a while and returned with a small meal to accompany the warm tea.

"Please drink the tea and eat the cake" said Aqila

Arif without hesitation drank the warm tea in front of him because the journey far under the hot sun made him thirsty, then devoured the food served. Aqila smiled at the incident then she poured back the warm tea in Arif's glass. Arif and Aqila's hearts were filled with joy that she had never felt before, a natural happiness driven from the deepest of hearts
