82. The Hard Truth to Believe (1)

The next few days ....

Jihyuk was done with his work. He and his assistant returned to the hotel where he was staying. Inside his room, Jihyuk and his Assistant chatted.

"It's not felt, it's the third day" Jihyuk said, taking off his suit, he removed the buttons on his shirt and took off his shirt.

"Please take a break, Mr. CEO. Later that night, I'll come to take you to meet Mr. CEO Hezkiel Winter" the Assistant said.

"Oh, I almost forgot. If he invited me to dinner. I thought he wasn't interested in meeting in person outside of work hours" Jihyuk said.

"Yes, from the rumors I heard, he was not like that. He would definitely limit private meetings outside of work hours." Assistant explained.

As it turned out, Jihyuk's assistant was already looking for a little information about the people who were about to meet his superiors. He also gave some of the information to Jihyuk.

"you mean? I don't understand." Jihyuk said.

Jihyuk's assistant was silent for a moment, "Hm, I don't know for sure what the cause of his change was. But, from the information I heard, lately he has been experiencing a slump. Some sources mention many triggers. One of them is a sudden divorce and a scandal of infidelity committed by her lover." explained the Assistant.

Jihyuk frowned, "Waw, you know everything. Did you hire a reporter here, to figure that out?" Jihyuk was a little shocked, as his Assistant knew to a great extent the personal lives of his business associates.

"That's not what I mean, Mr. CEO. I did a little bit of figuring out, just in case this information was needed. We don't know how our opponents are talking. Since you're just here for the first time and you've met some new people" the Assistant replied explaining why he's looking for information.

"Yes, I get it. I wouldn't blame you for that either. Anyway, the information you gave me was pretty useful. It's just, I was astonished." replied Jihyuk.

"Right?" ask the assistant confused.

"But I shouldn't have those thoughts. Isn't that natural? people in high positions must have scandals and complicated personal lives. No exception to your own boss." Jihyuk said. He spoke with a gloomy face.

The assistant was immediately surprised, "The CEO should not talk like that. You ... ah, sorry. I better go to prepare the meeting materials tomorrow. Please just rest. Excuse me." the Assistant just left Jihyuk. It seemed, the Assistant knew his limits to speaking.

Jihyuk was speechless, he looked far ahead with a blank look. His mind was a little troubled by what his Assistant had told him.

"Fraud, huh? why is there always a third party? why is a relationship always broken by it?" jihyuk. He closed his eyes and clenched both his hands.

A taxi pulled over and stopped on the side of the road. A woman came out of a taxi and stood by the road. The taxi immediately left the woman.

The woman looked around. He looked away at a house. Just as he was about to step into the courtyard of the house, a car came and entered the courtyard.

The car stopped. From the car, someone got off. Oneorag and the woman looked at each other. That person was Dion, and that woman was Merry. Dion was curious when he saw Merry. He approached Merry and asked.

"Hallo, Mistress. Looking for something?" ask Dion.

Merry nodded his head, "Yes, is this address correct?" asked Merry while handing over the paper that he had held.

Dion received and read the inscription written on the paper, "Yes, right. Who are you looking for?" ask Dion curious.

Merry looked around then, looking at Dion. Merry seemed to be hesitant and confused. Seeing that, Dion asked again to be sure.

"Do you know Christian Greey?" merry looked at Dion.

Dion scrunched his forehead, "Sorry, what's looking for him? can I know the reason?" ask Dion again.

Merry looks agitated, "Look. I don't know where to talk from. But, I came to ask for help." Merry replied in a voice that sounded sad.

Dion looked around, "Come, come with me first. We can talk slowly. Right now, the person you are looking for is still in the office. I'll take you to see him. However, first. I'll need a convincing explanation, if you know someone you're looking for" Dion said.

Both moved places. Dion took Merry to a coffee shop not far from his home. Dion did not want his mother to see the presence of Merry which had made Dion suspicious. Moreover, Merry turns out to know Christian, his stepfather.

In the coffee shop ....

Merry finally reveals her biggest secret. Something he had been hiding for a long time. Although actually reluctant, but Merry had no other choice at that time.

From Merry's confession, it was revealed that Merry and Christian were once in a relationship. However, the relationship must run aground, as Christian is betrothed to another woman by Christian's parents. Unable to maintain the relationship, Merry then chose to leave. That's when she realized something, which was pregnancy. Merry is pregnant with Christian's son. When Merry wanted to tell Christian, Merry saw that he was married to a woman of arranged marriage. Merry paused his intention and chose to leave.

" ... that's it," Merry told me at length.

Dion was shocked, "Are you sure and earnest by your statement, Madam?" dion still couldn't believe it.

"Very sure. I can prove that if Christian wants a DNA test. My daughter is indeed his biological son." replied Merry.

"How old is your daughter now?" ask Dion again.

"Twenty-seven years," Merry replied without hesitation. Merry looked at Dion, "I'm sorry, if I'm presumptuous. But, you haven't answered my question. Do you know Christian?" ask Merry.

"How, yes. It can be said to be more than just knowing. He is my stepfather." replied Dion honestly.

"Pa, step-father?" merry muttered. "meaning? that woman had a child when she married Christian, did she?" Merry who does not know just the origin of guessing.

"Oh, that. You seem to misunderstand. The woman you're referring to may have been his previous wife who died. Me and my Mama were just lucky people, picked up by Him on the streets. Even though he and I have no blood ties, he cares deeply and thinks of me as his own son." explains Dion.

Merry was shocked to hear Dion's story. He did not expect, if the woman he married had died and his heart was remarried.

"So, is your mom married to Christian?" ask Merry.

Dion shook his head, "No. The second marriage never happened. However, in order to protect us, he made a fake marriage certificate. I think he only intended to marry one woman in his life." explains Dion.

Merry frowned, "Then, what of the marriage was ... Christian has a child? and are you alone with your mama?" ask Merry again.

"I'm just the two of you with my mom. And for your first question ... Papa has a daughter." replied Dion.

Merry was silent, and so was Dion. They are soluble in each other's thoughts.
