The morning atmosphere in the hospital was quite tense. Because it has been three days now Kiran never awake and drizzle, increasingly making the atmosphere uncomfortable. Especially for Darren who had seemed agitated.
Darren walks back and forth in Kiran's gurney. For some reason, today he was so agitated as he remembered his son. Darren felt something bad had happened.
" But every day I see it still good. So he couldn't possibly why - why, Kan." murmured Darren. He ruffled his waist while holding his head suddenly dizzy.
Darren exhaled a long breath he tried to stare towards Kiran and tried to be calm. He sat back in the gurney and gently gripped Kiran's hand. Darren. He gently kissed Kiran's hand which felt so weak.
"I need you so much, Ran. I can't hold all this alone." said Darren. He felt his heart so empty, as if there was no more happiness in it.
Darren pensively stared at Kiran. According to doctors, Kiran's condition has started to improve. However, Kiran was not aware. Kiran looked so good and reluctantly opened her eyes.
"You don't want to see our son, Ran? He must need you very much, dear. Come awake! Don't be like this!" darren said again. Her tears rolled down her cheeks.
Darren's breathing was choked and his chest was tight, as if a rock was pressing down on him.
"Is your dream much more fun, Ran? Are you happier with your dream?" ask Darren, who certainly won't get any answers.
Darren smiled as he sighed softly. He closed his eyes for a moment while carrying Kiran's hand to close to his chest.
"I knew you wouldn't leave me, right? you must be fighting to get back with me and our son, right?" darren's mumbling. His smile grew wider, although tears also wetted his cheeks.
" Darren, what about Kiran?"
Darren flinched then turned his head towards the source of the voice. He smiled with relief as he saw Helena standing in the doorway. Darren let go of his hand gently.
After that, without much talk. Darren moved from his seat. He walked over to Helena and hugged her. Darren's cry broke out instantly. Her shoulders shook violently as she felt the warm embrace of her mother.
"Ma, I'm so scared" whispered Darren. He was crying like a child who was missing something. However, Darren did not care at all. Right now he just wanted to reveal all his unrest to Helena.
"What are you so afraid of, son? Everything's fine, right?" ask Helena. He gently rubbed Darren's back to give it a bit of serenity.
Darren shook his head. And said, "Everything's not okay, Ma. Kiran is not conscious yet and my son is weak. Now I'm helpless, Ma. What am I supposed to do?" darren asked as he let go of Helena's embrace.
Helena exhaled slowly. His eyes warmed up when he saw Darren's situation. Helena knew that even though Darren was always cold and strong towards others, his heart was weak and fragile when he was around her.
"You don't have to do anything. Don't act stupid like that time! You prayed enough for Kiran's recovery." she stared fixedly at Darren's face higher than hers.
Darren scrunched his forehead. "Where do you know that time, I....."
Darren let out a long breath. He's sinking.
"Of course from your Om? Who do you think you're from, hm?"
Darren smiled faintly. Her mood was much calmer now after talking to Helena.
"I feel very angry, Ma. I can't take it because Kevin so easily manipulated everything that Vanesha's innocence."
"But that doesn't mean you can do that, Darren. Don't act just to beat a dusty grain like it." Act like a classy person!" said Helena. His voice was so firm that it made Darren even a little surprised. Because, all this time Helena has always been kind and gentle. But why has it changed now?
Either Darren's feelings alone or it's true, but Darren clearly sees the radiance of anger from both of Helena's beads.
"You don't have to take care of people like them. By the way, granddaughter of a mother girl or a boy?" helena asked him, trying to divert the conversation so as not to discuss things that made him angry.
"He's a man, but his body is still very weak, Ma. I'm also afraid something bad happened to her" Darren said.
"Don't talk like that, Mama's daughter-in-law and granddaughter will definitely be fine" Helena said as she patted Darren's shoulder gently.
Darren nodded while confirming Helena's words. He sat on the sofa while looking at Helena who was sitting next to Kiran.
Darren grimaced as he pinched the base of his nose. His head suddenly throbbed and felt a little dizzy. Because since last night he hasn't slept.
"Why is my mom coming now?" darren asked after a moment of silence.
"Actually from yesterday has arrived, Darren. But Papa was exhausted so we decided to come now" replied Helena.
Darren nodded his head. And he said, "Where is Papa now?"
"Something outside seems to be talking to your brother, Daniel."
"Then I want to go out, Ma. Please take care of Kiran"
"Yes, you calm down. Mama will definitely take good care of Kiran."
Darren smiled faintly and then moved from his seat. After that, he passed away leaving Helena and also Kiran.
"How's Kiran doing, Darren. Is there progress?" ask Kenzo. When she saw Darren coming out of Kiran's in-room.
"No change yet, Dad. Because Kiran was still closing her eyes.". Darren replied while sitting next to Kenzo.
"You're patient, maybe Kiran is taking a break from her tired life after marrying you" joked Kenzo, he chuckled as he patted Darren's shoulder.
Darren rolled his eyes lazy, although notoriously cold, but Kenzo often gave jokes to him or Daniel. Well, even though the jokes aren't funny at all.
"Where's Daniel, Dad?" ask Darren
"He's home he said there's important business."
Silent. Both of them chose to be quiet and busy with their own thoughts. Until Kenzo took the initiative to open a conversation with Darren.
"How's your son doing?"
"Until now, the condition is still weak, Dad. The doctor said it would take a few more weeks to completely restore his condition.
"Then be thankful. Don't forget to always pray! And Yes....., how was it yesterday? Did you lose or win a fight with Kevin?"
"According to Dad?" Darren. Different from Helena who often forbid him to do rough. Kenzo is just the opposite. The old man often supported him if there was a feud with Kevin.
