Episode 4: Lucas's

4. Lucas

“I think he just an ordinary boy. But I think I’ve underestimated him.” —AliceTristan.

The road is so quiet. No one passed by and it was very quiet. Alice wondered why the streets could be so quiet. There are lots of houses along the way. But it's all like uninhabited. Like someone was intentionally trapping him.

Having not found a suitable victim, the monster turned to the victim who had been lying lifeless and sniffed it. Seeing the victim no longer moving, the monster now turned towards Alice and Lucas. Alice even felt her hair standing up when their eyes met each other.

“Yes geez. Regret once,” murmured Lucas. Disappointment was clearly etched on his face. “All because of you.”

“A-me!?” alice asked in a high tone while pointing at herself. The girl immediately sewot and almost boarded the apitam. “Kok me!? Just right?!”

“Yes geez. No, Alice. Where can I blame the lady I just met today,” Lucas replied with a chuckle. Now he looked at the monster before him with sharp eyes. “This is his fault.”

“So, you want to help what not?” asked Lucas without looking at the girl.

“No! I'll get help! There must be officers patrolling around here!” alice shouted as she ran away. He left Lucas who could not help his surprise. Alice bit her lower lip and whispered to herself, “Sorry Lucas. I cannot ... use this power in front of you.”

But, baby, the choice was wrong. The monster was even interested in Alice's whereabouts. A pair of monster eyes glistened with bloodlust. As if it got a very tender prey, saliva to the point of dripping from the tip of its pointed teeth.

“MIAAAWR!!”

Alice wildly. A second later, the monster pounced on him from above. Alice quickly dodged by jumping back away from him. Again, the claws were swinging ferociously. Likewise with his mouth that is always wide open as if to swallow it round and round.

Alice gulped. He tried hard to avoid it nimbly. Fortunately Alice had a slightly pliable body. But for a long time he was also overwhelmed because of the monster attacks not only once but many times. It also could not last long because his steps were limited and now his back had hit the wall.

But why was Alice targeted?

Alice screeches. Avoiding attacks from cat monsters is quite troublesome to mess with the environment around the streets. The monster intensified and now jumped right in front of Alice. Alice was silent for a moment and when the claw was just above her head, she threw herself down and used the snow to slide under the monster's body with a wide gap.

“Alice!” Lucas suddenly came and hit the monster with his right side until the monster slammed away. He grabbed Alice's arm and ran away.

“Lucas!?” Alice surprised. He thought Lucas was just gonna leave him. But instead, Lucas held his wrist tightly. “Why did you help me?”

“Dumb question, Miss. You really can't read the situation, huh?”

“But Lucas!”

“When grasping your wrist I can feel it,” murmured Lucas quietly. But Alice can still hear it clearly, “We both hide her. Either for their respective purpose.”

“What ..?” Alice nodded in disbelief. Alice could have guessed what Lucas meant, but she didn't want to accept that fact.

“I have an idea.”

Alice glanced back. The monster seemed to bounce back after its head accidentally hit the trash can. Just now that the monster was back up, suddenly a pedestrian accidentally entered the deserted road.

“Huhuwaaaa! Monsterr!!!” one of the pedestrians who almost passed the road immediately ran away. “Please! Help!!!!!”

Capturing the sound, the monster's attention was diverted. Then he pounced on the pedestrian who tried to escape. Alice who saw that immediately gulped. Especially when the attention of the monster turned back to him.

“Alice! To the dead end alley!” exclaim Lucas.

“Hah!?”

“I'll finish him off. But can't be here.”

“You mean? How?” Alice exclaimed in panic. “Sial really!”

Their hands were released when the monster pounced back. The claws accidentally injured Lucas' arm tore his thick jacket. Lucas moved to pull out the dagger he had prepared. But it turns out that the monster made a trick move and blew Lucas away with his free tail.

“Haha! How awesome a monster like you can think!” lucas said as he tried to stand back up. “Now I won't mess around.”

Alice blinked as Lucas confronted the monster. The man pulled out two blades of daggers that he had hidden behind his jacket. His hands seemed shrewd and expert in the way he grasped the dagger.

Alice was wide-eyed when she saw the thin grin on Lucas' lips. With a faint-looking thin electric flash in his hand. The girl gulped. It seems that the estimate is correct.

A SREEEEET!

Like lightning, the man moved quickly by swinging the dagger. Alice again gulped. No normal person can move that fast. Just know that the monster's body has been filled with deep cuts and scratches.

“Lightning speed!” Lucas pushes the monster's body into a dead end alley until the monster falls helpless. The number of injuries all over the monster's body made the monster difficult to get back up.

Alice flabbergasted. From the end of the alley, he could clearly see the electric glint in Lucas' hands clutching his dagger. The look on his face was different compared to when he met him earlier.

“Alice,” Lucas calls and turns to face Alice. “I don't know why I didn't dare to use it. Though I can clearly feel the existence of that energy.”

“No. You're wrong,” Alice denies it. “I'm different from you.”

“Really?” ask Lucas. He sighed and smiled softly. “While I was so happy to find you.”

BUAAAAGHHH!!!

Lucas' body was thrown suddenly until his back hit a concrete wall. His temple was bleeding and his consciousness seemed to be declining. The monster had bounced back and looked furious at Lucas' actions.

“Lucas!” exclaim Alice fearfully. He stared blankly at the monster before Lucas. “Gosh ... do I really have to use this power?”

Alice grimaced when she felt that there was a deja vu in her mind. Alice remembers, it's the same as before. Back when he was still shackled in the restraints of the bad guys, his twin brother would protect him and sacrifice himself to the point of death. And at that time Alice could only watch it without doing anything. Because Alice is weak.

Is it time to not be silent anymore? Alice did not want to continue being a spectator, but on the other hand she was also afraid of her power.

Alice took a deep breath. Unknowingly his pair of emerald irises seemed to light up like a green gem shining in the sun. “I'm really fed up with you guys,” muttered Alice as she advanced a few steps from where she stood.

The monster immediately floated his deadly claw towards Lucas who had not changed position. Only a few stops before the claw hit Lucas, the monster's body was suddenly surrounded by grains of water and immediately trapped in a large water ball.

“Particle control,” murmured Alice.

“Alice!?” Lucas looked at Alice who was standing not far from him. The girl was staring intently at the monster while pointing her right hand forward.

“You can move Lucas?” alice asked without looking at the man. "I am weak. I can't hold it for long..."

“Ya... I'm fine,” Lucas stood up and grinned thinly. He took out a new dagger from his thick jacket. But the dagger this time looked longer and had a different color than before. “I'll finish him off, Alice.”

Alice nodded in understanding and then moved her hand. The water ball followed the direction of his hand. He threw out his hand, throwing the water ball quickly towards the concrete wall.

“Alright, I leave it to you!” alice shouted while pulling her hand.

Instantly the water ball disappeared and the monster hit the wall very hard. Lucas also took advantage of this opportunity by moving quickly piercing the heart of the monster. Not just once but many times until the monster actually died drenched in blood.

“Finally,” Lucas wiped his forehead looking at the body of the monster lying lifeless. Now he turned to look at Alice who was stroking his chest in relief. “My guess is right huh, Alice?”

Alice threw a look of caution as Lucas approached. “What do you want now?”

“Join with me,” Lucas replied with a sinless grin. He extended his hand. “We need your ability.”

Alice nodded quickly. “Hah!?”
