Magical Particles
Episode 1: Run

1. Run

“Run like hell and get the agony over with.” – Clarence DeMar.

The man is still awake. He was still running regardless of the pain all over the body. His mind only thought about how they would survive without incising the slightest wound on the girl on his back.

“Vian, enough ... I can run by myself.”

Alvian insisted on running and ignored the whining of Alice, his twin sister. He knew the great danger that was being threatened when he was in the middle of the forest at night.

This forest is one of the outer regions that are free. That is, attacks by bandits and wild animals can occur at any time. If they were really unlucky, they could meet an infected animal—or just call it a monster.

Even though it was just a worst-case scenario, Alvian did not want to take the risk of taking a leisurely walk. Therefore, he will continue to run to bring his twin sister up to the gate of region VII, the smallest region and open to the middle to the bottom.

Alvian smiled wryly. Not only did he run away from territory VI, but also ran away from the fear that gnawed at his chest. The man didn't want his sister to know that his heart was racing against all this.

Another bit. The dome of region VII has been seen! I can't give up!

Alvian shook his head once more, bracing himself back. He swore he would not waste this golden opportunity. The opportunity that comes after five years of waiting to be free from suffering.

“Vian, I can run by myself .. My wound has recovered,” whispered Alice draping her arm around the neck of the sister. “Come, put me down. Your leg must be hurting, right?”

Alvian shook his head, insisting on keeping running. Although actually his body has begun to refuse to run, but he will continue to force. Like the exercises long before this moment, his muscles had been trained to keep up with his brain. All the suffering of the past five years has forged all of his physical stamina.

SRAAAK!

“Vian ..!” Alice flinched when she realized there was a rustle following her from the right side. “We followed.”

“What!?”

Alvian growled in annoyance. He looked down, staring at his reflection from the moonlight. Then he glanced over from the end of his eyes, realizing that the shadow of the wolf chasing him was not just one.

“Take the left side when I give a cue,” whispered Alice and immediately answered with a nod. Alice pinched, waiting for the right time.

“3 …. 2... 1... Now!”

Suddenly, Alvian jumped to the left side, avoiding the muzzle of the wolf that wanted to devour him from the right. Alice did not stay still, she broke away from her twin sister and shot an arrow right in the wolf's eyes.

“AAROAARRGGHH!!”

Not mempan. The arrowhead is like an ant bite, neither bleeding nor weakening the wolf's movement. Precisely that ferocious animal increasingly appears to be actively attacking.

Now it was Alvian's turn to pass, then stick the dagger he had prepared. But unfortunately, the results were not satisfactory. Instead, he was almost bitten when Alice was late to give an arrow attack on the wolf's muzzle.

The wolf slowly retreated. Other similar wolves also sprung up from behind the bushes. The four pairs of purplish eyes looked wild with saliva dripping from behind sharp teeth. The hair that meets the body of the animal also looks rough and pointed. His body color is dark too. Alvian and Alice soon realize that the four wolves before them are not wolves that can be harmed with ordinary weapons.

Alvian and Alice immediately stood on their backs. Prepare to avoid the herd of wolves that began to run attacking, trying to devour them blindly. With a sharper instinct than that of the wolf, the two of them were able to dodge easily. For some reason, the trick movement was easier to make the wolves collide and bite each other.

“They are infected, yes?” whispered Alice, still doubtful of the state of the animal before her.

“Looks, yes. They don't deserve to be called animals anymore, do they?” Alvian turned back to Alice. His pair of emerald irises seemed to be blazing staring at the wolf who was back up and growling. “Monster.”

“This is only the second time we see a real monster?” asked Alvian, grinning thinly. His hand is ready to move. “Well, looks like we could try using that, right?”

“They can't die if using a regular weapon,” Alice bites her lower lip, preparing to give an attack.

“Except using special weapons,”

“Or abnormal strength,” dreadlocks Alice while raising her palm.

SRAAASH!

The water circle surrounding them Alice whispered back while pointing her palm forward, forming a barrier made of water. The four wolves were instantly provoked, assuming the prey wanted to escape. With a single jump, the four wolves broke through the water barrier.

However, before the wolf's body fully penetrated, Alvian immediately threw out his empty right hand and instantly, the water barrier froze in a split second. The attack managed to trap, and pierced the bodies of the four wolves right in the heart. Alvian instantly shattered the ice chunks encircling them and let the four wolves fall and lay lifeless.

“Uh, scary,” muttered Alice gazed at the slices of wolf bodies bathed in bluish blood, blood that signified that the animal had become a whole monster. He put his hand on

alvian's arm when it passed.

“Perhaps if we use that power from the beginning, the fight will be fast,” said Alvian while cleaning the edges of his dirty clothes.

The two were silent for a moment, dissolved in each other's minds. Eventually, they looked at each other like mirrors.

“But our power is not accepted in society, right? We who are born damned,” the weeping Alice who began to tremble faintly. Alvian realized it was directly stroking the tip of Alice's head. “I am afraid ... this power .. hakaka ..”

“Be calm," Alvian touched his shoulder. "We proved to them that we're not the damned child they said we were."

Alice nodded weakly then lowered her head and noticed their shadow reflected off the full moon. Three shadows.

Uh, three?

Alice was wide-eyed when she noticed another shadow right behind Alvian. Reflexes, Alice pushes the sister's body without cues. The attack was very fast, even Alvian did not have time to think what was going on. In just two seconds, Alice's body had been drenched in blood followed by a thunderous laughter from the black-robed figure.

“A .. Alice ...” Alvian's body trembled violently at how bleeding her twin sister was. His feet immediately limp. He rested on his knees, shook the pale face of the twins, and touched the wound. “I ... this is not possible .. Ali ... ce .... ALICEEEEEE!!!!!”

“Death is indeed suitable for the girl. Poor girl born damned.”

Alvian's petrified. His empty gaze somehow made his pair of emerald irises turn into flaming crimson. The soil he was walking on began to freeze and spread to the other end of the land. A great power seemed to envelop him as Alvian stared at the cloaked figure.

“Lice ..” Alvian growls and wipes away her tears. He stood up and looked at the figure with anger. “I'll kill ... I kill you ..!”

“Ahahaha! You idiot!" the cloaked figure increasingly laughed thunderously. Not caring about the temperature and the environment that turned increasingly cold, he looked at Alvian lustfully as if he wanted to devour him round and round. As fast as lightning, he moved and suddenly was already standing before Alvian with the right palm covering his face. “You always can't control it, te-hee.”

“Vi ... an ..!”

And instantly Alvian felt it was all dark.

“Conscious, ALVIAN TRISTAN!!!”
