Love Or Friend?

Love Or Friend?
The Speculation of Jenny

POV Author

During a break in the cafeteria, Alexa and Gaby noticed Jenny who had fallen silent earlier, Gaby finally spoke, "Today you just fell silent, Jenny. What's up?"

The one asked just chewed and swallowed his food, then smiled ignorantly at his two best friends, "Don't puzzle at us, Jenny." Alexa.

"I know something you're hiding." Jenny said as she looked at Alexa and Gaby alternately with her eyebrows money up and down. They both widened their eyes until their eyeballs almost popped out. These two girls were busy with their own thoughts, what Jenny revealed about me, inner Alexa and Gaby.

Looks like Alexa doesn't want to know, "I-I'm going to the toilet." That is the reason Alexa thinks about it today.

"All right, we'll wait-out"

Alexa immediately cut Jenny's words, "No need to wait for me, maybe I'm a little long in the toilet. See you at the class! " He ran away from his two best friends.

"I think you're the only one who wants to know the truth, Gaby." Jenny said after Alexa was no longer visible around the cafeteria.

"Okay, tell me. What do you know?"

"I'll give you two questions and you'll have to answer them honestly, okay?" Jenny said as she placed her hands on the table with her palms facing up. Gaby put her right hand over Jenny's, "Again."

"The first question is, did you really tell Andy that I liked him?" Jenny asked as if she was interrogating a criminal.

"Ti.dwd. I just gave her your phone number after I told Andy about Bianca."

"Don't think I'd trust you because you're my best friend, Gaby." Gaby would open her mouth, but Jenny silenced her, "But I'll believe you this time." Continue Jenny while grinning.

Gaby improved her sitting position and began to enthusiastically, "The second one?"

"You sure you want to know?" Jenny raised her next to her eyebrow.

"Of course I am."

"Okay, it's about Alexa."

Gaby gasps, "Alexa?! What's wrong with her?"

"Did you see that he was close to Livian?"

"What do you mean say that, Jenny?" Gaby asked sarcastically. Somehow he was always upset whenever the two names were connected, and the bad part was that he could not help his frustration.

"Aren't you paying attention? Alexa and Livian are so familiar these days, they even came together at my birthday party. Maybe they like each other?" Jenny's eyes looked up as if she was thinking.

Gaby won't bother, "Yes, maybe you're right. Maybe Livian likes Alexa, and vice versa." Gaby said, though her heart said something else.

After finishing their lunch, Jenny and Gaby rush to their class after hearing the bell sign the learning will soon begin.

At 14:00 all WHS students returned to their homes, including Jenny, Gaby and Alexa. The three girls walked towards the bus stop not far from their school in a quiet atmosphere.

Alexa said, "Why are you both quiet?"

Jenny and Gaby were seated at the bus stop, followed by Alexa, "There's nothing interesting to tell." Gaby answered.

Not long ago Gaby was sitting with her friend, Andy's car passed in front of the bus stop and stopped right in front of the three of them, "Hey, girls! Are you going home?" Andy asked, they nodded, "I can deliver you guys." Andy offers.

Gaby and Alexa grin without Jenny noticing. Just as Alexa was about to agree to Andy's offer, Jenny refused, "We're going home alone." Jenny uttered her sentence irregularly and her tone was so fast that Andy, Gaby and Alexa looked at her confusedly, "Eh, I mean, we can go home alone." Jenny grinned as she ended her sentence.

Initially Alexa wanted to nag Jenny, but Jenny had already refused. The mood would be awkward if I forced Jenny to change her decision, inner Alexa. "Jenny's right, Andy. We'll just wait for the bus." Add Alexa.

"You sure?" Gaby asked before approaching her brother in the car. Alexa nodded.

"Okay. See you tomorrow, girls!" Gaby waved to her two best friends.

While Andy focused his eyes on Alexa, "See you, Alexa." He said with a smile, Alexa smiled back at him.

Gaby cleared her throat when she saw her brother never start the engine of his car, making Andy disperse his gaze from Alexa, "You too, Jenny." Andy said again as he glanced at Jenny and smiled. He drove his car away from the bus stop.

"Did you see it, Alexa?!" Jenny screamed in excitement while gripping Alexa's left arm, "She smiled at me! Andy smiled at me!" Jenny cried again while jumping up and down like a child, still gripping Alexa's arm firmly.

Alexa grimaced in pain and tried to pull Jenny's hand off her arm, "Jenny, stopped! My arm hurts."

"Ups, sorry." Jenny took her hand off Alexa and scoffed innocently, "Just today I'm so happy." Shouted Jenny while stretching her hands to the side. Alexa just shook her head and smiled at the behavior of the brunette girl.

"Are you done?" Alexa asked somewhat sarcastically as Jenny fell silent. The one in question only scoffed and nodded, "Eh, I just remembered." Jenny said, raising one of Alexa's eyebrows, "What do you remember?"

"I haven't told you about Gaby and Alvin."

Hearing the name Alvin mentioned, Alexa felt wrong behavior. Why are you talking about Alvin and Gaby?

"What's d-with them?" Alexa asked a little nervously.

"Don't you realize that Alvin likes Gaby?"

"Nope-no. And if that's true, are you sure Gaby likes Alvin too?"

"Are you kidding me? Who doesn't love Alvin? She has everything girls want: wealth, good looks, and the leader of the basketball team."

Yes, of course the criteria Jenny mentioned earlier are true. But Alexa likes Alvin not because of that.

Alexa nodded briefly, once again Jenny shouted excitedly as Alexa thought to herself, "Look, the bus has arrived." Alexa pointed at the yellow bus approaching the stop. He and Jenny boarded the bus and went home.

The alexa POV

I put my sling bag on the study table and sighed violently. Did Gaby and Alvin really like each other?

Ugh, I mustn't let those thoughts interfere with our friendship. I should prioritize friendship over love.

Sometimes I start to doubt, is the liking I have for Alvin just a temporary crush?

There was a knock on my door, and then it opened and Mom came up from the other side of the door, "Hey, Honey. Sorry if I'm bothering you." Said Mother.

"It's okay. Please come in, Mom!"

Mom entered my room and sat down on the edge of the bed, "Mom see you're not happy today. What's up, Alexa?"

I sat down next to Mom after taking off my shoes, "Nothing, I-"

"Alexa, I know when you're lying. It's clearly visible on your facial expression."

Both of my hands clasped together, "Actually, I got into a bit of trouble." I was nervous, because this was the first time I ventured to tell Mom about a guy I liked, "I-I like someone at school."

Mom paused for a moment, then grabbed my braided hair and loosened my hairband, "That's great!"

Mom's answer surprised me, to be honest, "Mom not angry?"

"Why would you be angry when you hear your daughter is close to someone? Tell mom, when are you going to introduce her to mom and dad?"

I exhaled slowly, "Mother, don't be so quick to hope, because I heard Gaby is also close to her."

Mother who had combed my hair with her fingers stopped her hand, "So right now I'm in need of advice from Mom." My next.

"Mom thinks you'd better keep your friendship, honey. Because Gaby is a friend who has supported and helped you rise up when you're in trouble." Mother combed my hair gently back, "And one more: if she was the one who was destined for you, you'd be together someday."

"Thank you for listening to me." I said and hugged him. Mom hugged me back, "I'll always be here if you need me, Honey." Reply while releasing a hug from me, "Now, you go take a shower to get your mind refreshed."

"Okay, ma'am!" I said while bowing my body and giggling.

Gaby POV's

Tiring day, that's a good word for this Wednesday. Today has become even more upsetting since Jenny told me about Alexa and Livian's closeness.

"Conscious, Gaby! Alexa is your best friend! You should be happy for her!" I muttered with a slight cry as I threw my body onto the bed. Maybe I yelled too loudly, because Delancy came and knocked on my door.

"Gaby, are you okay?" Delancy asked as I let her into my room.

I then took a sitting position, "No, I'm not okay." I said honestly. Delancy sat down next to me, "You want to tell me?" Delancy asked, I agreed.

"How do you think your best friend likes someone you like, Delancy?"

"Well, I'd be frank with my best friend if it was the guy she liked"

"You know that being honest isn't as easy as it sounds, is it?" I interrupted, "It takes a lot of courage to say honesty, let alone to your own best friend."

Delancy then reduced the distance between us and held both of my shoulders, "To be honest is not easy, but a sweet lie hurts more than a bitter honesty. Remember that."

"But-"

"Delancy!" My mother's screaming voice rang out from downstairs, it just so happened that she came home from the office sooner today. And yes, my room is located on the second floor of this house.

"Mrs call me, we'll continue this conversation." Delancy said and then took her hand off my shoulder, "You take a shower first, and then you think about what I said." Delancy continued, and she left my room.

Freshness enveloped my entire body as I finished my bath, then I wore a plain blue T-shirt and short, knee-length black pants.

As soon as curiosity haunts me, there must be a reason if Mama today came home early, my inner self. I walked out of my room to the living room. I carefully stepped my foot down the stairs.

In the living room, my mother and a man were sitting on a long sofa. They seem to be talking about something important. Not that I meant to be disrespectful, but I had to eavesdrop on their conversation to stop this curiosity of mine.

"...I hope you will cooperate with my company, Mrs. Bloom. We can both benefit." The man said to Mama.

"As I've said from the beginning: I'm a person who doesn't trust others for granted. So, you have to wait for a decision from me with a rather long time."

The man seemed to have no other choice but to agree with Mama, "Alright then, I will wait. I have to go back to the office now. Thank you for your time, Mrs. Blooms!" Said the man while extending his hand.

Mama then stood up and shook the man's hand, "It's not a problem, Mr. Turner. I'll let you know if I've made a decision."

Mama then drove the guest to the front door, while I set foot back to my room.

"Turners... Turner's... Turner's... Why does that name sound familiar, huh?" I muttered while tapping my index finger onto my chin.

I seem to have heard that name...

As if I had just felt a slap from an invisible hand, "Alvin?!!"
