Love Or Friend?

Alexa & Livian

"What are you and Miss Polly talking about?" Livian asked after Alexa came out of Miss Polly's room.

"Miss Polly assigned me to list the students in my class to participate in the race held on Wednesday, May 20."

"Hey, that's-that's it"

Alexa then cuts Livian's sentence, "Our school anniversary? Yeah, you're right."

"What are the competitions that will be held at this school?" Ask Livian again.

"Basketball games, singing competitions, ballet dancing, etc. I don't know, I don't remember everything."

As silence surrounded them before Alexa returned to speak, "I'll be back in my classroom now, Gaby and Jenny must be waiting for me at this time. See you later, Livian! " Axa waved at Livian.

But Livian calls Alexa's name, making her stop her footsteps and turn around to face Livian who is still standing in front of Miss Polly's door, "What's up, Livian?" Ask Alexa.

"What... You want to have lunch with me at break today?" After a year of attending the same school, Livian finally emboldened herself to invite the girl she liked to spend time with her. Engraved a smile on Alexa's lips, "Sure... I'll bring my two best friends. See you at the cafeteria this afternoon!"

"Wait Alexa, that's not it" Alexa doesn't wait for Livian to finish her sentence, she runs into her class leaving Livian behind.

"... I mean. I'm just taking you, just you." Livian said again, even though Alexa can't hear it. He sighed, "Yes that's it... Maybe next time." Livian then smiled at herself and returned to her class.

At 11:00 p.m., Alexa, Gaby and Jenny meet Livian in the cafeteria, "Hi, Liv! Have you been waiting for us for a long time?" Say hello to Alexa while sitting in a chair opposite Livian, followed by her two best friends.

"Well, that's fine." Livian said then spread her shoulders, "The three of you order food first. I'm still waiting for my friends."

"Friends? I didn't know that you're having friends too. As far as I know, you're a loner." Jenny was a little soft while wagging her hair which she pigtailed back. All Livian could do was chuckle, then answer Jenny, "I have a friend. Andy and Alvin will be here any minute."

"What!" Alexa and Jenny together. The two girls then looked at each other and laughed at each other, making the atmosphere even more clunky.

The one waiting arrived. Alvin and Andy approach the four of them without saying a word, while Jenny and Alexa freeze in their respective places when they see the person they like, sitting right across from them.

"Are you going to order or just sit around waiting for the class bell to ring?" Said Livian Alexa and Jenny; also Gaby who was apparently busy playing her phone earlier with silence. Without asking, Alexa immediately stood up from her seat, "I'll just order." He said he glanced at Jenny and Gaby, "What do you want to order?"

"As usual..." Jenny answered while turning her eyes to Alexa for a split second, then looking back at Andy who was sitting right to the left of Livian. Alexa smiled amusedly at Jenny's behavior, then looked at Gaby who did not stop typing something on her phone, "How about you, Gaby?"

Gaby finally took her eyes off her phone, "Sorry, what did you say?" Gaby asked innocently, making Livian, Alvin and Alexa laugh, "So you didn't listen to us talking?" Livian said in between her laughter, "I didn't expect you to be funny, Gaby."

Gaby felt her face blushing red, this was the first time Livian had called her by her nickname since they knew each other. Unknowingly Gaby glanced at Livian silently. Livian then looked at Gaby and their gaze met, making Gaby feel her heart beating fast.

The notification sound from Gaby's phone made her turn her gaze away from Livian. Phew, it's a good thing that my attention was distracted before I went crazy because of Livian, Gaby's mind. He then checked the notification that apparently came from his Instagram account.

"Gabby..." Alexa touched the blue-haired girl's left shoulder, Gaby raised her head, "You haven't told me what to order yet, have you?" Alexa.

"I want two sandwiches." Gaby replied. Maybe adding more food will make me forget about Alexa and Livian, Gaby's inner self.

"Are you willing to spend it?" Alexa's a little bit sleazy.

"I... Really hungry. Now go..."

"Okay, okay. I'll leave without you asking." Alexa answered while chuckling and then followed Livian.

After ordering food, Alexa and Livian talked about their school anniversary while waiting for food to be served, "Did you join the race at the school anniversary later?" Ask Alexa when opening a conversation.

"Yep, Miss Ely recorded it in my class this morning."

"What race are you following?"

"I actually wanted to do a singing competition, but Alvin-"

"Alvin why?" Ask Alexa quickly with a worried look.

"He put me on his basketball team. Of course I didn't reject her, not only because she was my friend but I wasn't sure that Miss Ely would pick me in that singing race."

Alexa smiled obliquely then patted Livian's right shoulder to encourage her, "Don't get discouraged like that, Liv. Not only are you afraid of failure, everyone is afraid of failure. But don't make it an excuse to make you back off from achieving what you want."

Livian smiled warmly at Alexa and felt her heart blossom as the girl tried to encourage her. I'm getting more and more convinced about how I feel about you, Alexa, Livian's inner self.

Alexa just realized her hand is still holding Livian's shoulder, "M-sorry." He then pulled his hand from Livian and felt awkward. The food that was served saved Alexa from the awkward atmosphere, he and Livian brought the food to the table where their friends were.

Before the two of them arrived at the table, Livian asked Alexa again, "It seems you were worried about Alvin, Alexa! Do you like him?" Livian was really to the point this time. Alexa is shocked by Livian's question and nearly removes Gaby's plate of sandwiches from her hand.

"I-i... W-why did you suddenly ask that?" Alexa asked nervously.

"I didn't mean anything. No wonder you like Alvin, he's a popular student and girls will do anything to be his girlfriend. Take Bianca for example..."

Alexa gasps, "Bianca... Who?"

"You know... Bianca Rasya Roland, son of our vice principal, Mr. Roland's."

"You and Alvin are Bianca's class?" Alexa made it clear what she was thinking.

"Do you not know?" Ask Livian. Alexa just shook her head, "I wonder how it happened, but I'm so hungry right now. Let's continue this conversation later, shall we?" Alexa said while stroking her stomach, Livian laughed at her and nodded and they walked over to their friends.
