Happy Him

In the rear gazebo, which is surrounded by various types of flowers and fish ponds. Melvin and Andress sat together and enjoyed the morning with a cup of coffee that the smoke was still billowing. They deliberately separate themselves from the crowd, choosing a quiet place to be alone.

“You so moved today?” Andress asked as she placed the coffee cup in front of her. Melvin drank his coffee first, then put it on the edge of his wooden chair. His eyes did not move from the fish pond.

“Iya Ko's. Later in the day, Meida and I will go home to our house in Malang.” Melvin replied with a smile. Andress took a slow breath, she drank her coffee again with her eyes looking at the leaves swaying in the wind.

“Secap it?” Andress asked back with a face that looked objectionable. Undeniably there is a sudden streak of sadness in her heart, when she heard her sister would be taken away by her husband.

Melvin rolled up the blue shirt he wore up to his elbow, then thrust his long legs towards the front.

“Iya Ko, we will go home to the house that I have prepared. We were hoping you would take us. But today coincides with the removal of Mrs Grace's ashes on the beach, so you can't deliver us.” Andress nodded her head listening carefully to her sister-in-law. His face could not cover his sadness. He tried sincerely and steadfastly, accepting the destiny line that had been reserved for him.

The greatest point in life is to let our loved ones be happy, even if not with us. At first it hurts, but later it will get used to itself. It takes a lot of pretence to try to smile.

Believe me, the person who laughs the most, the widest smile, is a very fragile person. He just pretended to be happy, to cover up his solace.

“Vin, please take good care of my sister. Don't ever hurt her, if you hurt her, it's the same you hurt my heart.” Lirih Andress with a bright view towards some fish in the pond.

Undeniably, the feeling is still there. Even with all his might, he tried to stop him. Doesn't treating pain take time?  That's what Andress is feeling right now.

Perhaps continuing to study abroad is the best option. Seeing them smile happily, made my heart seem to be pinched and back in pain.

God, if going later is my best way. Every step I take, I want to be happy too. Give me his replacement. Find me with my true love.

Andress rubbed the corner of her suddenly watery eyes. His inner turmoil, enough he and God alone know.

“I hold your words Vin. If you hurt her, I'll take it from you, I'll take it away, I'll never bring you together again. I let go of her to make her happy, because I know you are her happiness. I want my sister to be happy, even if I am injured.” Parau Andress with her own face. Melvin turned his head towards his sister-in-law in confusion, after hearing his last words.

“I promise Ko. Meida's happiness is my top priority.” Melvin's promise smiled as she shook her hand amidst her confusion.

Andress looked back at the waiter who was downstream in front of her. Once he looked at his family who were behind a room that was busy preparing for his appearance.

He walked towards the fish pond with the feed in his hand.

One grip of feed on throw it into the pond, until the fish scramble to get the source of food.

“Vin, the first time I saw your wife, when I was working at Tarakan Hospital in Jakarta. The first time I saw him, your wife's face looked puffy, but pretended to be tough. Our first meeting, made me instantly fall in love with him.” Andress recounts the beginning of the meeting with her sister. Melvin widened his eyes at the confession of his sister-in-law, he let the contents of the coffee cup he held spill over his Chino pants.

Melvin murmured inwardly while staring at the back of Andress who was in front of him. He walked over to his brother-in-law and stood beside him.

“Ko, what does koko actually mean? Does koko love Meida?” Andress smiled softly towards Melvin by dividing the feed in his hand. He threw it back into the pool.

“Melvin, how would you feel if we met the people we love that we've been looking for? But fate slaps us hard, seeing the fact that our loved ones have the same blood and bloodline as us. That's how I feel. I loved Meida, before knowing if she was my sister, whom I had been looking for.”

Melvin's heart was getting worse because he heard the honesty of his sister-in-law. He seemed to not believe and feel sorry for the fate that befell him. But he was grateful for that fate. Due to destiny passing through, he was finally able to marry the woman he loved despite many obstacles.

“Coko really loves her?” Requestion him while throwing feed into the fish pond. They are like people who have been close for a long time, when in fact, they are the first time to chat so close.

“Well, I love him like an adult man who loves his opposite sex. But now, I love him as my younger brother. I deliberately express my heart to you so that we are both open, I do not want any of us covered up.” Andress turned her head towards Melvin. His eyes looked red, there was a glimmer of sadness on his face line. But he tried hard, by curling his lips despite the opposite of his eyes.

“So I begged you as a sister. Don't ever hurt her, because it's the same way you hurt my heart. I wish him to be with you, at least with you I am calm. Because you are a good man.” Melvin shifted his position, and now was near his sister-in-law who was bowing her face.

“At first my heart was broken accepting this reality, but what power. I could not fight for my love because it was blocked by a wall so high that I could not have fallen. I can only take it with ease. I can't deny the line God has given me for my life. Is not giving up and accepting the best way? Doesn't seeing him happy I'll be happy too?” Andress's raucous voice, making Melvin's heart wail. Although he did not feel it, but he could understand the pain so deep that his sister-in-law felt. All this time they loved the same woman. Melvin held back her tears, feeling the bitterness her sister-in-law felt.

If only we didn't love the same woman, maybe you wouldn't be this broken. I love him so much, and so do you. I can't take it off, I can't live without it

 Melvin's inner voice erased the corner of his eye and patted the shoulder of his brother-in-law who was still down.

“What for this reason, koko continued her study abroad?” Andress raised her face. His eyes were staring at the sky so that his tears would not fall. In the look of his face, stored a thousand hopes and do'a.

“I want to find my true love just like you Vin. I had to move on with my life, finding the happiness I was looking for. If I stay here, maybe it will make my life difficult. Because treating liver injury requires a process, not instant even though we have tried. Maybe going far is the best way to forget it. Later, I come, not as someone who once loved her, but as her best sister.” Andress' bitter smile was on her natural red lips. A drop of tears trickled down his face, he quickly wiped them away.

“Pura-pretend to be fine it is not easy.” He muttered softly while closing his eyes. Melvin was again touched by the situation of his sister-in-law. He thought his brother-in-law was a jolly, loving, wise man. But in fact, his brother-in-law was fragile. His laughter and smile all along, was merely a guise to cover up his inner wounds.

“Hear your story I deeply sympathize Ko. But I love your sister very much. I don't know, I'm confused what to do?” Melvin flowed by leaning himself on the iron pole used to support the side of the gazebo. Andress looked at him deeply,

“Believe him. Because her happiness is my happiness. Take care of him with all your heart, treat him well, love him with your soul. That's what I asked of you. I want him to live happily with you.” Andress sincerely. He sat back in his wooden chair enjoying the breeze of the morning that swallowed his skin. Melvin was silent by following the steps of his brother-in-law. After he sat down, he just answered.

“I promise you. I will keep all requests. I will not waste the sacrifice of cocoa all this time. I am very grateful, because Koko has been open to me. Thank you for the greatness of Koko's heart." Melvin again wiped the corner of his eye and continued, saying,

“Thank you for letting Meida go for me. Thank you for entrusting him to me.” Andress turned her head while patting her sister-in-law's shoulder.

“There is no need to thank, because that is what a brother should do to his sister. You must be so vin, willing to sacrifice anything for your sister to make her happy.” Andress again shrank the corner of her eye, and again tried hard.

“When I go later, please take care of my family. I can only monitor them remotely. I trust you completely! Don't disappoint me!” Melvin nodded his head while grasping the arm of his sister-in-law.

“May you two always be in the blessing of God. Always happy, always together until old age.” Melvin guaranteed a sincere do'a that came out of the mouth of his sister-in-law with a happy and heartwarming heart. He held his hand to strengthen it.

“May Koko also find the true love that I have been looking for. May Koko always be happy wherever she is. Hopefully koko will soon find a life companion.”
