LUSTY! It was almost past midnight, but I had not yet come up with a suitable idea for the investigative material. In fact, tomorrow morning the editorial meeting will be held soon. At least I can't come empty-handed. Besides, I've been caught off guard by Raymond's boss's harsh rebuke. Lately, one of the reasons for his anger was my passive attitude when attending news meetings in the previous months.

The meeting that will discuss the determination of the theme for the special issue of investigative magazine is usually held once a month. Usually the meeting will be opened immediately with the presentation of ideas from each participant, consisting of the editor in chief, journalists and other staff. At such times there will usually be a rain of ideas from the meeting participants. Then followed by a rain of response. At times like that I usually look more like a rice buffalo.

During this time I too often position myself as a meeting member who does not contribute much positive. When fellow journalists compete to test each other's idea skills, I just keep quiet while making a frown unclear. This is what often triggers the anger of Boss Raymond. In his capacity as editor-in-chief of the Metropolis daily, he did deserve to be angry and reprimanded his subordinate staff.

Lately I've been getting more and more intensely receiving harsh reprimands. In fact, I had heard the grapevine. Reportedly my name is one of a handful of Metropolis journalists whose work contract period is about to be reviewed. I myself do not deny the assumption of many parties for the decline of my performance. Therefore, I am determined to repair my reputation. And, the editorial meeting to be held tomorrow is the right momentum to show that I am still worth defending.

In search of an investigative theme, I deliberately collected clippings of magazine, internet and newspaper articles that were published during the week. A number of recent criminal topics that have caught my attention have been neatly listed. I have also sorted through and considered some appropriate topics to be the theme of the investigation. I tried repeatedly to pour these topics into the rule of the inverted pyramid, but the edges always stuck. I always fail to find a correlation, between the news I collect and the main topic. In addition, the topics on the list are not really fresh. In fact, most of them have been the headlines of competing media.

In the shadow of despair, I went back to scavenging the piles of newspapers and magazines that had now filled my room. When viewed from afar, it feels like this room already resembles a landfill. Paper sheets, newspapers and magazines with various themes scattered on the floor of the room. While I look like a scavenger who's lost his way. Languid not passionate.

My face wry as I glanced at the cover of a magazine. Kosmos: Supernatural and Metaphysical Magazine. With a skeptical expression, I researched page after page of the magazine. However, unexpectedly, my eyes suddenly glued to one of the rubrics listed on page eight. The title of the article seems to have caught my attention.

The Monster Phenomenon: Magical Or Real Creatures?

Among the press, Kosmos and similar magazines do often bear the title of 'yellow newspapers', a term for print media that emphasizes the element of sensation rather than the weight and accuracy of the news. Speaking of class comparisons, as a fellow print media company, Metropolis' reputation is clearly more awake in terms of information weight and syntactic quality. But honestly, that's not what's underlying my interest in this article.

An unpopular idea flashed through my head. Namely the idea to pack a mystical element by including a number of exposures that are logical and acceptable reason. Next, I intend to convert that logical-mystical combination into an investigative idea that is not only interesting but intriguing. It's a very brilliant idea.

My eyes sparkle. My lips are wide. The tangled thread that had previously wrapped around my brain also slowly decomposed. I'm sure my experiment will reap positive results. Raymond's boss, who had always looked one eye at a time, would finally acknowledge my prowess. Then, in the days that followed, that Pimred Metropolis would no longer dare to underestimate my capacity as a journalist.

With soaring motivation, I grazed a piece of paper. The first thing to do is to draft a concept. I have to create a basic scheme. Where the investigation will begin and how the mechanism will be. The basic scheme will be the reference material in the presentation that I want to present at the editorial meeting tomorrow.

On the headline chart, I wrote down the name of a title that has recently been popular among the people of the capital, the Monster. Recently the figure that is said to be believed to come from the occult is widely discussed among the public. Its appearance is often associated with the phenomenon of serial murder that affects many politicians and conglomerates. It is said that this creature appeared and sought prey right on the full moon. A number of data collected by the investigation team of Kosmos magazine even wrote down details of the date and cycle of the full moon to prove it.

A werewolf? I don't know. I don't want to rush to conclude even if it's a reasonable assumption. From the facts found in the field, the condition of the bodies of the victims is often found in a terrible condition. The autopsy team found cuts and bites all over the victims. It was as if they died from being eaten by a beast. No less astonishing, the bodies also lost their internal organs. Armed with this information, the public then dubbed the serial killer as the Monster.

Based on the Kosmos magazine article, I then developed the idea of an investigation by gathering more information via the internet. The result was far beyond my expectations in the beginning. A series of information about the figure of the Monster seems to have spread widely on the search engine page. In fact, sundries about the mysterious creature have long gone viral on several social networking sites.

This Monster figure, I think, really meets the criteria of an interesting investigative theme. Although there is a lot of information about his existence, but the identity and motive of the murder he did is still a mystery to this day. In fact, so much to attract the public, some supernatural media, both print and electronic, trying to present the design of the physical picture that is said to be the fruit of the appearance of metaphysicians. Some of these media display their illustrations in a form that resembles a large wolf with sharp claws. It is likely that the journalists who wrote the articles watched too many werewolf-themed Hollywood movies.

Although impressed beyond reason, mystical elements of this kind actually have great potential to captivate public interest. Based on a survey of readers of print media released by the Press Agency this year, the majority of readers in this country are already too saturated with political news and are starting to turn their attention to the fresher and more interesting types of information. My prediction, if this edition is really published later, this month the office will succeed in achieving a larger number of oplah numbers. Hopefully!
