Budiman Rudiantoro's

The Anti-Corruption Committee interrogation room, which is often a scourge for political officials, was not as bad as I thought. Indeed there are some details that are similar to the illustration picture in criminal films, such as the existence of a two-way mirror, as well as a secret room hidden behind the mirror. However, the atmosphere was not as dark as I had been thinking all along.

The lighting of the room which measures about 5x10 square meters is still very feasible for normal human vision. Relying on a combination of cool wall paint colors with the right light intensity, the lighting in this room is considered very friendly to the eye. It is also supported by a very artistic room design layout.

This room is designed to resemble a relaxing family room. This is clearly intended to eliminate the impression of haunted which is often the stigma of the interrogation room in general. In addition, the positive impression displayed by the room seems to be a form of compensation from K.A.K law enforcement for witnesses and suspects who want to be questioned. To circumvent the often time-consuming investigation process, they need to guarantee a comfort factor for the interrogation object.

At the very least, that comfortable impression was what I was feeling right now. For the past hour, my skin hasn't even had a chance to sweat. The cool air sweep produced by two air conditioning units in the corners of the room managed to dispel the heat. The tension that had enveloped my mind all the way to this building instantly melted away.

In fact, that aura of comfort had already begun to be seen ever since I set foot in the front lobby. Dirga, one of the aides of the K.A.K leadership, and some of his staff immediately greeted me warmly as an honorary guest whose arrival had long been missed. There was no visible trace of ketus on their faces. It was as if they had gotten used to maintaining a familial atmosphere in this place.

Amidst my admiration for all the things I met in this place, my ears heard the creaking of open door hinges. The face of a bespectacled man looked out from behind that door. When he stepped into the room, I could only watch his relaxed appearance. The man was wearing a plain milk-brown shirt. His shirt collar button appears to have opened without any tie ties encircling it. It is a natural thing because time has shown past working hours.

"Night, Mr. Budiman," greeted the young man with all the hospitality that emanated from his face. "So, you're in good health, aren't you?"

I nodded slowly. The man came up to me and pulled the chair across from the interrogation table. His ideal body then landed on a lacquered chair that still looked shiny.

"I'm Sora, Bu Murthi's assistant. He cannot come to see you here. You must have heard of the disaster that recently befell him, right? Although his condition had improved, his physique was still too weak. I hope you understand."

"I understand, Brother Sora. Precisely in addition to surrendering myself, the point of my arrival here was to report something related to the incident."

Hearing my words, the face of the man named Sora immediately wrinkled in astonishment. "You mean?"

"I want to..." I hesitated to continue my words. "I would like to acknowledge my involvement in the unfortunate event."

"Oh," Sora's eyebrows climb up. "So, the rumors that have been circulating all this time are true? All this time the public has been suspicious of you as soon as they hear the incident."

I was no longer able to deny the response of the man sitting before me. I didn't think my charisma as a magnifier was fading away overnight. The arrogance that used to be my trademark has been washed away by the flood of submission. In an instant, the Goliath had transformed into a helpless weak dwarf.

Meanwhile, Sora did not stop looking at me. There was a hint of suspicion on his curious face. "Sorry, Mr. Budiman. Frankly, I can't trust you completely yet. What is it that makes you give up and confess your actions?"

"I'm scared, Brother."

"Fearful?" Sora's eyebrows climb back up. Her eyelids narrowed to hear my statement. "To be honest, this is a bit of a surprise to me. Hasn't Budiman Rudiantoro ever known fear?"

"I'm not as good as you think, Brother. After all, I'm still an ordinary human being with fear."

"alright. Please continue with your story. I'm curious. About what great thing can shrink the guts of a famous Budiman Rudiantoro?"

Once again, my soul was overwhelmed with doubt. If I tell you everything, it means I will betray my good relationship with Bang Edi. General Gaek will definitely not forgive me. But the situation is currently overrun. I had already raised a dispute with him. He must have been after me. Sooner or later, he will send one of his executors to hunt me down.

"I've been working with an important figure in the military for a long time. It's all related to the deaths of a number of politicians and businessmen."

"Military? What does the military have to do with your case?"

My breath began to gasp. I could no longer bear the anxiety that had long been lurking behind my chest cavity. "Brother Sora, I need protection. My life is in danger."

"Attent, Mr. Budiman. You need to tell a story in a row. I failed to catch the intent of your conversation."

"I don't have much time. They'll find me here soon." I started to panic.

"They?" For a moment Sora tried to perfect the location of his glasses that were slightly sagging. "Who are they?"

"The general. He is the most responsible person. I must immediately speak before the media to uncover this secret."

"Edhi! Edi Harsono!"

THE HORN!

Suddenly the whole room went dark.

"Sir Budiman. Can you hear my voice?"

Immediately the panic began to run all over my body. Slowly the hot air began to touch the surface of my skin. Sweat that had been held back by the roar of the air conditioning machine, now began to melt down.

As the sweat began to flow through my temple, I was struck by the appearance of a small ray of light shining through my eyes. It turned out that the light came from Sora's phone which he deliberately ignited as emergency lighting.

"I apologize for the inconvenience, Mr. Budiman."

"They're already here. What do we do?"

"Quiet, Sir. Just the lights off. Looks like our clerk forgot to turn on the power generator."

BRAKK! My heart gripped hearing the sound of the door slamming. A black shadow appeared in the doorway that had opened wide.

"Dirga?" My ears could still clearly hear Sora's voice still in front of me. "Come down. Please check the generator switch on the ground floor. Perhaps Mr. Salim forgot to turn it on."

Sora's orders were directed at his aide, Dirga, it didn't get a response. Silence rippled out all over the room. Silent. While my blood rippled as the light beam from Sora's phone dimmed.

"The Dirga? You can hear the sound... NGROOOKKK!"

My mouth reflexively fizzed after hearing Sora's voice that suddenly turned terrifying. His voice that resembled that of a snoring person was followed by the sound of liquid splashing on the walls of the room. My eyes did have a hard time seeing what had befallen Sora, but I knew exactly what his fate was right now. From the beginning, I had indeed expected that the shadow in the doorway was not Dirga's shadow.

Meanwhile, the darkness came back, my mouth began to recite prayers as I could. And, as the prayers were ringed one by one, my ears caught the strange sounds again. This time it is like the sound of metal clashing with the floor many times with a rhythm that is awake.

"Budiman Rudiantoro," A voice that sounded right in front of me made me soar in shock. That voice was definitely not Sora's. "There's a greeting from General Edi Harsono."

I've given up on what will happen to me soon. I slowly closed my eyelids, preparing to accept the worst possible outcome. I'm sure my death will come soon.

"DARKKHHH!"

When I had started to completely surrender, suddenly the heavy voice of the mysterious figure again surprised me. From the loudness of his voice, it seemed as if he was shouting loudly right in front of my ears. The sound was followed by the sound of a falling metal gun, not far from my seat.

"Rana? What are you doing?" Again the mysterious voice was heard, but this time it weakened like it was holding back the pain.

"Stupid! Don't say my name when you're at work!" I was listening to the voices of different people, similar to the voices of women, but somewhat excited. There was one more mysterious person in this room.

I didn't get to guess who the owner of the noise was. There, after that, I heard the sound of slashed skin, along with the sound of someone screaming in pain. The sound of the incision was heard many times, rumbling with the sound of pain that was getting weaker and weaker.

Coinciding with the sound of the last incision, I suddenly felt a splash of warm liquid hit my skin. Surprised, I reacted by shouting. I also tried to knock myself out of the chair and crawl backwards looking for a backrest on the corner wall of the room.

The mood was silent again.

Sayup-sayup, again my ears hear strange sounds. This time it was like a snorting sound. The sound was then followed by a soft cry. Instantly, my hair bristled. At first glance, the cry was like coming from the mouth of a woman. No, the voice was more like the voice of a man.

"Today you're really lucky." The voice was heard again.

Not long after, there were footsteps slowly heard. The noise slowly weakened, moving away towards the door of the room, followed by the sound of a turn of the doorknob. And, finally, the parade of sounds and sounds was silenced by the sound of a door slammed very emotionally.

Instantly silent dodged. No more noise. None of my senses are able to work properly, except my smell. Meanwhile, the smell of rancid came sneaking in between my nostrils. Blood scents!
