Jemima's Choice
Chapter 75
Jemima couldn't sleep last night thinking about what would happen tomorrow. Early in the morning he prepared Gerry's favorite dish, he wanted to give it to his current lover even though he did not know in the future what would happen.
After saying goodbye to Dira he immediately headed to Gerry's apartment. His heart and heart are not lost, the fear of losing Gerry feels very big. But he also does not want to force if Gerry is not willing to accept himself anymore. He had told Gerry that he was coming to his apartment.
Jemima arrived at Gerry's apartment, he opened the door slowly. Looking for his favorite man.
"Ger, where are you?" heed
There was no answer he checked Gerry's room, but the man was not there. He saw Gerry's bedroom balcony door open and smelled the smell of cigarette smoke from where he stood.
"Ger" called him to Gerry who was standing leaning against the balcony with his right hand holding a cigarette.
A clumsy moment occurred between the two. Usually if the two of them had just met, they would have kissed each other's lips, but what was happening at this moment they just kept looking at each other.
"I wait at the dinner table, I bring you breakfast" said Jemima and left Gerry alone.
As usual Jemima had prepared the tableware and its contents. Waiting for Gerry's arrival, at least if he is no longer a lover for Gerry he remains professional as Gerry's secretary.
Gerry came and sat opposite Jemima. The cuisine that Jemima brought made Gerry tasteful. Stomach full of pleasure thought Jemima hoped Gerry would give himself a chance. Gerry ate what Jemima served without saying a word and Jemima did not taste at all. But it takes energy to deal with all this.
This is the moment, after Gerry finished his breakfast he began to make a sound.
"We talk on the couch" Gerry went from his dining chair to walk first and followed by Jemima. Gerry sat on one of the single sofas while Jemima was on the long sofa.
"Ger I'm confused about where to tell the story from" said Jemima.
"Free I will listen to all your words" said Gerry as he looked at Jemima who he thought was beautiful this morning but with tired eyes.
"As you know yesterday, I already have a boy named Dira. He's my son with Darwin Redian my former boss and your friend. The two of us never had any marriage" Jemima said slowly trying to arrange word for word so that there was no more misunderstanding.
"It was me and he that made a mistake. Or I call it not a mistake because for me Dira is not a mistake, but an action that we should not do. I found out I was pregnant the same time Darwin got married to Cindy. I couldn't possibly hold a man for a wife" Jemima's eyes welled with tears recalling the bleakness of the early days of humming Dira.
"I went and left my life in Jakarta to Semarang to start a new day without Darwin's knowledge. But when Dira was 2 years old Darwin accidentally found out and invited us back here so that he could take responsibility as a partner in raising Dira" Jemima's tears began to trickle down.
"But I can't count on Darwin, because he did not keep his promise because I had to work and by chance that time Arka informs you to look for a secretary on condition that he is still single and finally I try until you accept me." Gerry was silent just watching Jemima.
"I did not expect that our relationship is not only limited to superiors and subordinates. And honestly I'm afraid I'll lose you if I'm honest about my status, ever since you gave me this ring I promised I'd tell you everything, but you know it first" Jemima wiped his tears.
"I'm ready if you don't accept my status. We are back to being Ger's only coworkers" said Jemima with sobs, he felt sad and heartbroken.
"I don't like the same lies you gave me Je, why you weren't honest from the beginning" Gerry finally dared to say, he was confused by the reality.
"I'm sorry I was just afraid of losing you" Jemima said.
"If you're honest from the beginning maybe I can accept it, but this is we've been going on for a while and I should know that by accident, you think this relationship is a joke" Gerry said.
With a heavy heart Jemima took off her sweet ring and placed it on the table.
"End again" he said, calming down before entering the house.
"Add more life lessons" he added.
Until the day goes by, Jemima and Gerry's relationship is completely unsaved. Jemima was used to heartbreak, but behaved as usual while working with Gerry, despite the pain in his heart. Whereas Gerry he did not enter for a few days he went to the family villa to calm down.
For Gerry Jemima's lies are intolerable, he has the trauma of dishonesty. His previous girlfriend cheated and lied to him, saying that he was pregnant with Gerry's child until he was determined to marry his lover first he found out that it was not his son. If Jemima was honest when they were just starting out, Gerry would have been forgiving. But for now he can't forgive her.
After spending time in a quiet place, Gerry finally returned to the office.
"For Pak" Jemima said when Gerry just returned to the office, Gerry's face looks very tight with hair a little disheveled.
"Morning" Gerry replied briefly without looking at Jemima.
As usual when Gerry comes Jemima will immediately approach him and tell him the schedule and work to be completed.
"For Pak, today there is a meeting schedule with Mr. Farouk at 7 pm at the restaurant the other day" said Jemima heartened to look at Gerry but who was stared at just looking down.
"Okey you don't have to come"
"I'm fine sir as usual" Jemima is still professionally doing his job.
"Do not feel sorry for your child waiting for you last night" said Gerry staring at the screen of his laptop that just lit up.
"Well sir, here are some documents that need to review Mr" Jemima submitted some designs that have been made by Gerry's men.
Suddenly the door to Gerry's room opened and Sela appeared.
"For Ger, have you eaten?" ask Sela
"Not yet Ma arrived" replied Gerry
"Hi Je, buy Gerry breakfast there" said Sela and Jemima obeyed his orders.
After Jemima left Gerry's room, Sela sat down in front of Gerry
"Eh Bang Mami's time heard from Mami's friend, he said Jemima is not right woman" Gerry immediately looked at his Mami's face.
"Yes he said he deliberately deketin his boss to have children continue to benefit his son to get money" Gerry sighed to hear the words of his mother.
"Worse yes rich woman, you are careful not to be trapped rich son Magda" said Sela
"Mam if talking is not really that it is better to go home" Gerry is upset with the words of his mother, because during dating with him never even once Jemima used him.
