Episode 53: Submitting Yourself to the Khalik

"How, Son?" ask Bara to her son who looks very lethargic. Beside Dad there is Mom and Mba Retno who are curious to know the story.

"Nathan has divorced Michie, Dad," Nathan said.

"A-pa?" surprise Mom and Mba Retno. Unlike Bara, she seemed calm, controlling her heart.

"Why did you divorce your wife, Nat? Does Michelle want you to divorce?" ask Mba Retno.

"Nathan didn't meet Michelle, Mba. Michelle was not home" she said, "But when Nathan came to Abah's house. Abah's been preparing divorce papers for Nathan to sign" Nathan said.

"What then? What kind of old man is that?" annoyed Mba Retno, "Where there are parents who want their children's divorce!".

"Already, Retno. It's been their family's decision" Dad said, "You have to remember, How Nathan betrayed his marriage. All parents, must want kindness for their sons and daughters!"

"Yes, Dad. Nathan has repented. He also got his karma!" mba Retno.

"Retno, you just shut up. Don't you feel sorry for your sister? Look, he's in a bad state!" mother said, "Don't make Nathan worse. We as a family have to provide support and encouragement!"

"Yes, Mom. Forgive Retno," he said.

"Tonight, sleep here!" tell Mom, "Mom knows you're not okay,"

"Good, Mom. Retno's gonna clean Nathan's room. Just change the bed sheet. The room is clean, because every day will always be a broom Retno," said Retno.

Nathan seemed not excited to open the door to his room. The room is not too big, nor too small. His room was, when he was not married. Although it has not been occupied for a long time, it still looks neat and clean.

He laid his body on a soft foam mattress. While looking at the ceiling of his room, Nathan's lips did not stop pondering. A drop of clear water flowed down his manicure.

"I'm sorry Michelle, I can't keep our marriage. What Abah said was true. You deserve to be happy with a good man, Soleh and religious. Not like me. I'm just a sinner, who doesn't deserve to be loved. One third of the night, Nathan wakes up. He took ablution to perform tahajud prayers. His heart was too fragile for now. He begged the Khalik to strengthen his heart. That he may be strong and steadfast in living the destiny outlined by God.

Finishing the tahajud prayer, he continued with the dawn prayer. There was a solace in Nathan's heart. His mind was a little calm. However, his belief in the Creator will not fade.
