Episode 69

This woman always makes me smile and smile again.

I stepped forward, aligned my face with hers, looked at her face for a moment and said, "You're beautiful in a gini uniform"

Strike. Again his cheeks flushed. Wonder why the more days I get better at it anyway.

Priiiit. I ruffled Khanza's hair as usual before running to the middle of the field.

The sound of bullets rang out here and there. Some lay down against obstacles, some wallow in the mud, and some walk on the stick of balance. While I focused on aiming for moving targets that were installed far at the end of the field.

"Bravo" the voice automatically grabbed my attention. As soon as I realized who was next to me, my rifle and sunglasses immediately went down. "Every sir" I salute, a code of conduct between TNI members to greet each other.

"I heard when your education passed the highest-scoring shooting test."

Don't tell me he's checking my background?

I gulped, afraid to give an inappropriate response to the person most valuable to my girl, "Thank you, sir. But there's still a lot better than me"

"You want a duel with me?"

We immediately positioned each other's weapons, "One.. Two..Three" right at the last count my bullets shot out loud. I shot at the target in the shape of a human shadow one by one. Hardly anyone misses. It collapsed with the whirring of a bullet coming out of my rifle.

But there is something strange, it looks like there has not been a single bullet that came out of the gun of Mr. Major General. Already one-third of my target collapsed but the target of the two-star man is still intact. The next thing that happened made me silent without twitching for a few seconds. With the bullets coming out, two or even three targets can be knocked down at once by Pa Major General. My sweat is getting worse. Obviously this guy is much more skilled at getting around movement. I am slowly getting far away. And it made my palms wet, my throat dry, and my focus was up. Many of my shots missed. In the end, I have to accept defeat.

Even though I have guessed where this conversation is going, I still hear with attention. "Khanza quickly gets bored with something. When he was a kid, he used to whine about toys. But only used one or two weeks, Khanza was bored and asked for a new one. Even until now, many collections of bags, clothes, shoes are not touched anymore."

The old man paused for a moment, sorting out the right words to say, "Between you and my son.." My heart stopped beating, "I assume it was just a spark of a young soul for a moment" he continued. "As I said earlier, Khanza is easily bored. So don't take it too hard on heart."

The man sighed, "I'm getting old. At this age I just want to make sure my only child gets the best. I can't be with that kid forever. Therefore, I have prepared my own future for Khanza. Maybe young people like you don't understand how to think parents like me. But believe me, every decision a parent makes, like it or not, is just for the good of the child."

Again the man with a higher rank than me was patting my shoulder, "I speak not as a superior to a subordinate.but as a father who only has one daughter to look after."

And that moment I realized, my relationship and Khanza did not get blessing.
