Home In Cemetery
Chapters 2. Faiz Died

Karmila blinked because her pupils adjusted the incoming sunlight. He opened his eyes and found his body lying next to a tomb.

A few meters ahead there were some people who were crowding. Some of them are hoeing the land, making burrows for prospective residents.

Karmila was pensive to remember the incident that happened to her last night. Is it a dream or is it real?

"Don't I'm dead." Karmila smiled bitterly with her own buffet.

"Hey, there's someone there!" A person with a slightly screaming voice pointed at Karmila, then several people rushed over to the woman.

"Why is Neng even here? Neng slept in the graveyard?" A middle-aged man looked at Karmila suspiciously.

"I don't know sir, last night I had a bad dream and just now when I opened my eyes it was here."

"Astaghfirullah al-adzim, is this a sign?"

"Excuse me sir I have to go home soon." Karmila immediately decided to go home when she remembered Faiz, her husband who she said was in the hospital. Karmila intends to call back the person who contacted her last night. Hasn't the call log on her phone not been deleted? Yeah, Karmila's gonna dial that phone number back.

People let Karmila go. The whispers of the men accompanied Karmila's departure from the burial area.

"Bang Faiz!" karmila shouted as she found her husband walking towards her in a white shirt. A sweet smile adorned Faiz's lips as his wife greeted him.

Karmila gave a smile to find her husband was fine when the man who contacted her last night said that Faiz had an accident.

Was last night's phone just part of a dream?

"Karmila's happy you're okay." Faiz did not reply just smiling and stretching out his hands. With quick steps Karmila walked towards Faiz and directly entered into his arms.

Bugs.

Karmila fell to the ground. It turned out that the Faiz he was hugging was non-existent.

Karmila. "Am I still in dreamland?" muttering alone.

The woman got up and ran straight to her house. Up in front of the fence of the house he was silent to see many people crowded inside his house, even in his yard as well.

"What's this about? Why so many?"

People just stared at Karmila with pity. Qori and her mother-in-law came out the door and walked towards her.

"What's wrong, ma'am? Why are Mother and Qori suddenly here without giving any news first?"

Her mother-in-law rubbed Karmila's back. With tears in her eyes she said, "You patient son, God loves Faiz more than we do."

Deg.

The words of her mother-in-law instantly made Karmila's limbs go limp for a moment.

"What does mom mean?" tanya Karmila made sure that even bad thoughts prevailed over her.

"Faiz is gone, son, he's been called to God's side."

Karmila's body trembled again, little by little it felt so weak and her legs were unable to support her body anymore. Together with the teardrops his body fell to the ground.

"Mom's kidding, isn't she?" Her mother-in-law shook weakly.

"Wake up, son! You have to be patient. Not only you lose, but you lose, too." Her mother-in-law shook Karmila's body to regain consciousness.

Between the real and the not, Karmila saw a coffin flying before her and stopped right in front of her face.

"You're free, we were just wrong to pick people up. We've found the real passenger." The sound was piercing in Karmila's ear.

"No you're still the wrong guy. My husband isn't your passenger today" Karmila denied with a frenzied breath. He was not willing for Faiz to abandon himself now.

"Not this time we're wrong anymore." The round voice echoed in the air again.

"No!!!" karmila shouted loudly to the surprise of everyone.

Karmila pressed against her chest as she regained consciousness. He then ran into the house. Pain, pain seemed to hit his heart when now he saw the husband was lying stiff on the bed. Karmila felt her husband's body cold, frozen like a block of ice.

"Don't leave Mila."

Karmila slumped beside Faiz, now fully aware that all the strange things she was going through were real and now she had to part with her husband.

"Please get me some drinking water for my son-in-law!"

People quickly pick up what is asked.

Karmila strengthens her heart to avoid fainting. She wanted to see her husband one last time before he was buried.

Karmila stared at her husband's passing while he was on his last train, and most of all Karmila hated it, as people carried him, the coffin of the corpse as if smiling mockingly and waving at him.

"Crazy, am I crazy?" Karmila hit her head. He was feeling stressed at the moment.

"Don't do this, son, I know you're in shock right now, but please don't hurt yourself, son." Her mother-in-law revealed Karmila's hand on her head.

"I don't want to be abandoned by Bang Faiz Bu, I don't want to part with him. We just got married, why would Bang Faiz make me a widow. I'd rather die than be parted with him. Arrrgh, I'm not strong Mom, I'm not strong!" Karmila screamed hysterically while hitting her own chest firmly making everyone immediately run towards the woman and try to calm her down. Karmila's body fainted again and everyone immediately carried the woman's body into the room.

Karmila regained consciousness, but her body seemed convulsing, causing everyone on Karmila's side to panic.

"We better get him to the hospital" one resident suggested.

"Yes sir please help me to bring my daughter-in-law into the car, please" said Ms. Lela, the mother of Faiz.

"Good Mom." A middle-aged man immediately swiftly carried Karmila's body and took her outside the house.

"Can anyone drive a car?" ask Bu Lela again. Faiz's car was still parked there but, there was no driver.

"Oh usually Fadli can be asked to help us drive if there is anything. I'll call him soon." The residents immediately sought Fadli's whereabouts while the man himself was carrying a coffin.

"Fadli just replace the other one, we need your energy to drive. We're taking Karmila to the hospital for a seizure!" the residents shouted before Fadli stepped far.

Fadli nodded and asked someone else to take his place carrying a coffin. After someone replaced him immediately ran towards the crowd of people.

While some other men who carry keranda do not care about the state of Karmila because it has another obligation to bring the body he carried to the final resting place.

Seriate.
