Glass Flakes

Glass Flakes
Go home

Dimas dragged his steps into his family home. Passing through the dining room where his parents and wife were gathered there for dinner. Nothing came out of his mouth, he only glanced at the sound of his mother calling his name. Without warning, the man continued his steps towards his room on the second floor.

"You guys got into a fight?" Asked Mama Ambar realized the strangeness of his son's attitude.

"No" answered Dinda as she moved from her seat. "Dinda after mas Dim first yes ma?" Without waiting for an answer from her in-laws, the girl had already turned to head for her room.

Dimas lived in his apartment all day. Niko who was with him from morning was just silent listening to the curses of his best friend. Well although in the end the brief vent ended when Dimas began to fall asleep. Until this afternoon, Niko had just managed to persuade her best friend and boss to go home.

While Dinda herself undoes her intention to visit Dimas in the apartment at the request of Niko. Maya's husband said that Dimas is currently busy with his work. And Niko also promises that Dimas will be home soon after their work is done.

Entering her bedroom, Dinda spread her gaze looking for her husband. Hearing the gurgling water from inside the bathroom, she prepared a change of clothes for her husband while waiting for him to come out.

Dinda was still sitting on the sofa watching Dimas who was wearing his clothes.

"Mas" called Dinda to Dimas who was already sitting on the edge of the bed. "Mas Dim wants to eat first?"

"No" replied Dimas indifferently.

"Mas Dim why? Don't get rich gini mas, Dinda doesn't like it". Dinda started sobbing. She also sat down beside her husband.

"You must be disappointed with me, right? You'd want to leave me. I'm not perfect Din" Dimas said without looking at his wife.

"Mas don't do that. Dinda dear mas Dim" Dinda hugged the waist of the man who was still unmoved from his seat. "We can still try. Even if we are destined to be just two, Dinda sincerely as long as it is the same Dim" cried Dinda while tightening her arms. "Mas Dim don't gini yes, we live together".

"Mas love you Din, mas can not see you are disappointed because mas" said Dimas returned his wife's embrace. "But we can't lose you either. Love you" he said sobbing.

"Ssssttt, Dinda's not going anywhere. Dinda also loves Dim. Don't stay with Dinda anymore. We go through everything both. Just Dinda same mas Dim". Said Dinda calming.

For a moment they were swept away in a blue-moving embrace. Haunting feelings of fear and disappointment seemed to melt with expressions of affection that erupted from both. The fear of loss also makes the couple more dissolved in the atmosphere. No one can see their soulmates disappointed, but no one is willing to let go of each other.

Promising to live all two, the two people who are tied to the rope of marriage were also knitting for both. Love each other and strengthen each other. With or without children present. That is enough of his Lord's business. We humans can only try, right?.

After a late dinner, Dimas joined his parents who were still relaxing in the living room. While Dinda, the girl was still in the dining room cleaning up the remnants of dinner from her husband.

"Where were you from yesterday? Work until I forget to go home. Remember Dim you have a wife now. As if he's waiting for you". Flocked mama as soon as Dimas sat himself down.

"Sorry ma, Dimas was wrong".

Dimas only sighed when he heard the question from his papa. "Ma, pa, Dimas wants to say something".

The two old men looked at Dimas seriously. It was unusual for his eldest son to behave like that. Especially for corporate affairs. Usually Dimas would rather finish it alone than talk about it with his parents. Unless the problem cannot be solved on its own. He would consult with his mother who was more experienced than him.

"Why? The company's okay, right?" Sambar mom.

"This is not a corporate issue. It's about Dimas" he looked at his mother. "Ma, pa, sorry, Dimas can't love you grandchildren".

Mama who had been sitting leaning was straightening her body, sharpening her gaze towards Dimas. In fact, Mr. Lukman was staring intently at his son. Not angry, but he felt there was something important that the eldest son would say.

"What are you talking about?" Mom asked to clarify her hearing.

"Sorry ma, Dimas can't give you grandchildren. And again, please don't ask Dimas' wife to get pregnant".

"What are you talking about? Who wants your wife to get pregnant? We were happy that Dinda was pregnant, but we never pressured her to get pregnant". Papa protest. The old man thought Dimas blamed him because he was the one who often discussed the matter of grandchildren to Dinda.

"The wrong timas pa. Dimas will not be able to make Dinda pregnant". Dimas sighed, giving a pause to his rumbling chest. He should be honest with his parents. For the comfort of his wife. "Yesterday we took the results of the fertility test from Dr. Harry. And as a result, Dimas was infertile. You could even say you can't impregnate Dinda". Downcast, the man hid his eyes that were getting wet from tears.

"Dimas" said mama. He approached and hugged his eldest son. A mother must know the pain felt by the child, right?

"Dimas is not perfect ma".

"Dear, you're the perfect mama's boy. Do not blame yourself rich gini, all can still be worked on, right? Times are sophisticated, you can definitely try later" said the mother, she patted Dimas's back soothingly.

"Dimas was afraid of ma, Dimas did not want to lose Dinda".

"No love, Dinda won't leave you as long as you love her. You are patient, all there must be a way out" The middle-aged woman could not help but cry. He knew how heavy the burden his son was carrying. It was never at all imagined in his head that such a thing would befall his son.

Mr. Lukman who witnessed the scene of mother and child in front of him was only silent. She must have felt what her son felt. A man who gets such a verdict is enough to make the weak desperate. But not with his son, he was strong enough to just dodge for a moment. Thankful that his son did not do stupid things that harmed him.

While the parents were busy encouraging the child, Dinda who peeked out of the dining room could not help but hold her own. Not because he saw the scene in front of him, but he felt that Dimas' decision to express that sumua to his parents must be because of him. He was sure the man loved him so much that he wanted to keep his feelings. By telling her shortcomings to her parents, of course, there will be no one else who will demand her to get pregnant immediately. And the man understood, a little bit of a woman would be uncomfortable with such a question.

After that day, everything went as it should. Dimas to the office and Dinda also to the campus as usual. But something was different from Dimas. The man became very attentive to his wife. Dimas more often took the time to pick up his wife. In fact, not infrequently lovebirds spend time dating like a couple who just fell in love. Dimas so spoiled Dinda, and Dindapun like it of course.

There is no more talk of children among them. Even to return to visit the doctor was not terbesit in the minds of those who were filled with happy twinkles. For now it is enough that there are only two of them who love each other, strengthen each other and make each other happy. Accept everything God tells you and try to make things happen. The rest, let God decide.
