Getting Married through Tradition

Getting Married through Tradition
Maaf

When the break arrived, Hasan deliberately invited Damar to chat in the upper garden.

"So, what exactly is the relationship between the two of you?" ask Damar a little riled up.

"Our relationship, as you can see. Did you hear all our talk?" tanya Hasan glanced at Damar.

"Yes, I heard everything. You better not hide anything from me, San. I'm your best friend now."

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Do you doubt me?"

Hasan smiled and embraced Damar. "alright. I hope you can accept the fact that you won't have another chance to steal Hana from me."

"you mean? I no longer have feelings for him."

"really? I'm not sure enough."

"Just tell me what your secret is" Damar grew tired of Hasan rambling.

Hasan took a long breath. "Have you ever heard of a family that adheres to the tradition of early marriage?"

Damar frowned and shook his head.

"After I have told you everything, you have no right to divulge it to anyone. Including, Yusi."

Hasan looked at Damar with a warning look. Damar simply nodded without commenting. He was deliberately waiting for the continuation of the story of Hasan.

"My family and Hana's family, adopted the tradition for generations. The point is, me and Hana are married. Officially become husband and wife, and live one house" said Hasan.

Like being struck by lightning in broad daylight. Damar was so shocked that he got a panic attack back. Hasan was irritated and patted Damar on the shoulder with all his might.

Damar coughing. His throat feels dry. He still could not believe that the words Hasan spoke were true.

"Other times you have to prepare yourself better. Your reaction was so exaggerated," Hasan muttered annoyedly.

"This is a very big secret. I don't just hang it it's already a profit. Since when did you get married?" ask Damar full of waiting.

"Since I got into this school," Hasan replied with a smile.

"Whataaa! You guys been in touch that long?" asked Damar with a surprised expression.

Hasan nodded while shaking the leg he was resting on.

"La-la-then, which stage have you guys become a couple? I mean are you guys already ...."

Hasan grinned then whispered in Damar's ear, "it's the stage where we sleep together,"

"What you think. I slept with him once. Just sleep, nothing more." Hasan gave a second explanation.

"What do you mean exactly?" Damar looked at Hasan.

"You don't know what this tradition means, so don't assume for yourself. I've never done anything you think of with Hana. We know we're still in school. I could act stupid like that. I'll invite you home sometime." Hasan grabbed Damar's shoulder with a smile.

Damar nodded and smiled as well. His heart was still quite shocked hearing Hasan's explanation. But, at least he knew if their relationship was still reasonable. However, Damar has not been able to forget Hana completely. First love is hard to throw away, right?

~~

Damar has not shown a cheerful attitude lately. It may be the fact that Hasan and Hana, who are married. Makes her feel lost forever. In fact, Yusi was unable to comfort him.

"I'm confused about you, Dam. If I have nothing wrong with you, why are you cold now. Is it because you are the same as me? Don't you love me anymore?" yusi said with great emphasis.

"Don't say that again, Yus. It has nothing to do with you. Sorry if I changed. But, this change of mine has nothing to do with you."

"You have nothing to do with me, you can't be like this,"

"Lately I've just been not feeling well. And I didn't tell anyone myself. All this time I endured this pain myself. So, sorry well," Damar stroked the top of Yusi's head gently with a smile.

"What pain are you? Why did you just say the same to me. What's that sick?" yusi asked in a panic.

"Not serious. I can handle it myself" Damar replied.

"Don't you need me to help you?" ask Yusi annoyed.

"It's not like that I mean. But it's not serious. It's healed now" Damar replied.

"How do you not know, Yus. I endured the pain because Hana really belonged to someone else. I'm sorry that I'm still betraying your feelings" Damar's inner self felt guilty.

"It's really healed? What pain does it hurt?" asked Yusi attentively.

Damar sighed and then explained. "So, panic attacks sometimes attack me suddenly. The effect can last for days. So I can't think much. My mind has to be completely relaxed" Damar told a little lie.

"What hit you with that attack? Have you heard something so shocking?" ask Yusi.

Hearing Yusi's question, Damar was a little confused about having to explain it. He smiled then embraced Yusi affectionately.

"The stars in the sky are very many yes, the cold beaches are very malem," said Damar tightened his embrace.

"Hish, let go of your hand, you hold me so tight. I'm not comfortable." Yusi tried to stretch out Damar's hand. However, Damar drew him stronger.

"I'm sorry that I haven't really loved you yet, Yus." Inner Damar full of turmoil.
