43. The Unknown People

Dalvin's tears flowed without being able to contain him again. He was so moved to hear Soraya's story about her meeting with Rio.

"Then, in the end you met Rio at Mitra Cahaya hospital as a patient, not as a doctor?" Dalvin asked as if impatiently waiting for the continuation of his wife's story.

Soraya nodded. He squeezed his fingers while trying to remember the incident at that time.

"Rio's a good guy, huh? Even with me, someone she doesn't know at all..." Soraya said slowly.

"He was in the sickroom, fighting for his life... But, he could not survive for three days treated there... I'm confused, I don't know what to do... While you're waiting for never to come..." Soraya covered her mouth with her index finger holding tightness.

Dalvin who heard Soraya's words was astonished. He just realized that he was so awaited in the last moments of Rio.

"I went back to the Alaskan hospital to see the family of the accident patient, but I instead heard that the patient was blinded by the violent impact at the time of the accident... I'm sad... I'm confused what to do..." Soraya continued her story.

"I broke my intention to meet the patient's family, then I returned to Mitra Cahaya hospital... But Rio..." Soraya's speech stopped. He was crying sobbing.

Dalvin who understood Soraya's feelings, immediately hugged her very tightly.

Soraya held back her tears and then came out of Dalvin's arms. He took a long breath. "Rio has just been declared dead..."

"I'm waiting for you, Vin... Rio's best friend he told me about that time..." Speak Soraya while sniffling.

"I'm sorry, Sora... I'm sorry..." Dalvin said while holding Soraya's fingers.

"I'm sorry I put you in trouble that day... I didn't do it on purpose..." Dalvin repeatedly apologized.

"Where are you? Why don't you come, hmm?" Soraya asked as she returned Dalvin's hand.

"You knew... The person who had received the eye donor from Rio was, me..." Dalvin stammered.

Soraya. "You-you mean?"

"Yes... That night I accidentally forgot my promise to Rio to meet in the city park. Until finally, Nino's doctor called midnight informing her that Rio was being treated at Mitra Cahaya hospital... I panicked, and I went straight there... I took the car in a hurry and at high speed. I almost hit someone that night..." Dalvin stopped his story.

"So..." Soraya's tears were flowing. He groped Dalvin's cheek and grabbed him.

Dalvin nodded while holding Soraya's hand which was on his cheek. "Yes, Sora... I was the crash patient who almost hit you that night... I'm the guy... I've made you bother, panic and also find it difficult... I'm sorry, Sora... Sorry..."

Soraya. "No, Vin... No. gabe... It's not all your fault..."

"I made the opportunity for you to see again disappear... I'm the one..." Dalvin repeatedly said.

Suddenly Soraya's smile faded.

"Why? You're not happy? I promised not to leave you, Sora... Despite the many things we've been through together... Don't think of anything..." Dalvin.

"Pity the donor family... He just lost his family forever..." Soraya felt guilty.

"It's her destiny, Sora... You don't have to think about it..." Persuade Dalvin while gently stroking Soraya's shoulder.

"Wait here for a minute, I'll prepare everything..." Pinta Dalvin standing before Soraya.

While on his way to the hospital, Dalvin occasionally looked at Soraya's calm face. He smiled, remembering that his wife would see again.

Dalvin clasped Soraya's fingers, making his wife a little surprised. "I'm happy..." Dalvin.

Soraya smiled as she nodded.

Dalvin looked back to the front, suddenly he was surprised by two large-bodied men were blocking their journey.

"God..." Said Dalvin surprised while trying to brisk his car quickly.

"A-what's up?" Ask Soraya who looks worried.

"Either... There's an unknown person blocking our journey..." Dalvin replied trying to stay calm.

The two men walked towards Dalvin. They banged on the door of the car.

"Get out!" Hardik that guy.

"Who are they? And what do they want?" Dalvin murmured wondering."

"You wait in the car for a while, I'll meet them first..." Dalvin's words won Soraya's heart which began to panic.

Soraya shook her head loudly. "Don't..."

"It's okay, Sora... Everything's gonna be okay..." Convince Dalvin to convince Soraya.

"If they intend evil upon you how? What if they hurt you?" Soraya said that seemed so worried about Dalvin.

Dalvin clutches Soraya's fingers. "No... I promise, they won't hurt me, or hurt you..."

With a heavy heart Soraya let Dalvin out. Just as Dalvin shut the door of his car back, a single blow had landed on his stomach. Dalvin staggered, but on the next blow, he was evasive.

Dalvin was involved in an unbalanced fight between himself and two large and well-built men. Moments later, he nearly beat the two men, but two more men came to open the door of his car and forced Soraya to exit.

"Dalviii..." Pekik Soraya hysterical.

Dalvin surprised. He ran after Soraya's position which was almost taken away by those unknown people. It kicked strongly from behind the man dragging Soraya.

The man fell. Just as Dalvin was about to throw his feet at that person, the other three people suddenly ran away. Dalvin is confused, so that the person in his grip escapes.

"What do they really want?" Dalvin was astonished.

He glanced at Soraya who was still crying in fear, making him stop to chase after the man.

"You're okay, right?" Dalvin asked worriedly as he squeezed Soraya's cheek.

Soraya nodded. "I'm fine... You how? No one was hurt, right?"

"I'm fine... It's just that I'm confused, what exactly is their purpose?" Dalvin still seems to be thinking hard.

"Ah done... We better get to the hospital..." Dalvin said as he led Soraya back into the car.----
