Entering the World of Cerpenes

Entering the World of Cerpenes
Brother Boy

An orange glow began to appear enveloping both of Thalia's hands held by the boy. Slowly, the pain in Thalia's head disappeared.

Despite that, Thalia's breathing was still panting. He looked up at the boy in front of him. Staring at her gently while tidying up her messy long hair.

"Viona, take a slow breath. Come follow brother, take a breath. Exhale."

Thalia followed the direction of the boy. The man who claimed to be her brother patiently led Thalia until he could breathe more calmly.

The little girl no longer felt any pain. It's just, his head feels dizzy so he leaned on the mattress headboard without energy. Both of his hands were still grasped by the boy, flowing an orange glow whose energy was felt throughout his body.

"Warm," Thalia said slowly. The boy smiled with relief, he was quite panicked when he wanted to visit the little girl and then heard a sick cry.

He senses that something is wrong when his magic checks Thalia's condition. But he doesn't know what. His magic could only calm down, unable to check one's condition with certainty. Considering his magic type is not a type of healer.

"Is it still sick?" asked the boy, Thalia shook her head slowly.

"Thank God," feeling that Thalia was already feeling better, the boy released his magic. Even so, his hand was still holding Thalia's hand. He was still worried that something might happen to this little girl. "Sister apologizes Viona. Brother shouldn't have gone to the capital and left you alone here."

Thalia did not understand, but she remained silent listening to her brother's words. Well, this is a dream anyway, right? Thalia decided to follow any situation here.

It must be a dream, right?

"Viona?" the boy looked at Thalia with a worried look that re-appeared on his face.

Thalia was confused as to what to say, she did not know what had happened to this body before to make the boy in front of her so sorry and worried. The girl decided to tell the truth. He doesn't know anything. It would be even stranger if he pretended to understand when he didn't.

"I... is my name Viona?"

Suddenly, the boy rounded his eyes. "No way..."

"Sorry, but can you explain who I am? I don't remember"

Unable to finish her words, Thalia's little body - or Viona's now - fell into the arms of the boy before her. "Sorry, sorry Viona's sister." said the boy slowly, Viona felt her shoulders feel wet.

Is she crying?

"Sorry big brother, if only brother was more courageous against father-" at the end, his voice sounded weak. As if, he already knew that something he had done would make Viona's memory disturbed. "you will definitely be fine. Yeah, it's okay."

The boy's words were trying to calm the bewildered Viona, or perhaps he was trying to convince himself.

The boy released a hug, Viona looked at her brother's reddened eyes. It turned out to be true, the boy was crying because of it.

"You rest first, Viona." Her brother forced a smile to appear on his face, "sister call the doctor first."

The boy helped Viona to lie down.

Feel the warmth and softness of the mattress. Plus her body that felt weak, Viona's eyelids slowly closed.

Making sure the blanket covered his sister's body properly, the boy pulled the rope hanging by the bedside.

Not long after, someone knocked on the door. "It's me, miss."

"Get in," instead of hearing Viona's voice, the man was surprised to find a response from the familiar boy's voice. He soon understood that the young master of the Liez family was visiting his sister.

The old man, Falko, saw Victor standing by the bed. The place where Viona lay and slept.

"Young master Victor," said Falko, bowing politely.

Viona's brother, Victor, tells the old man to check on Viona. "Please take care of Viona for a second, Fal."

"Okay, young master."

Leaving the room, Victor goes out to find the servants who are supposed to accompany Viona and take care of her sister's various needs.

The servants who were relaxing in the kitchen left in a hurry when they heard that young master Victor was visiting Viona without notice. They will definitely be reprimanded. But yeah, maybe just a few short reprimands and then they'll go back to the kitchen.

Besides, they can relax doing nothing.

But today was really weird. The young master never came without prior notice. What's actually going on?

Merely, they had not expected that their young master was so angry. The young master who had never really cared for his half-brother was now seen to be able to slash at anyone and at any time.

Viona's elder brother's expression hardened as the few maids entered his study confidently.

"Where were you when your master was sick?" his voice sounded cold. It was very different when he spoke to Viona.

The servants gasped in fear, they already thought that Victor would rebuke. But not expecting that the young master of the Liez family who had just obtained his magic would exert such a huge pressure on them.

They looked at each other, not knowing how to explain.

"Don't want to talk?"

"Young gentlemen, we're just-"

Victor got up from his chair, took the sword that was always nearby and slowly stepped closer to the servants.

"If you dare to quibble, I'm not sure I can keep my sword from floating into your head."

The servants' throats were choked. They immediately knelt down and begged for mercy.

However, it was just a futile thing.

After that day, no one else could find them. Anywhere.

...****************...

It was getting dark when Viona opened her eyes. He felt his body fresher than the last time he woke up. A few candles lit up to light up the dark room. Just then, he saw a middle-aged woman walking over.

"Miss, you're awake?"

"Yes," Viona cleared her throat softly, feeling her throat hoarse. The servant swiftly poured water and handed it to Viona.

"Please drink first, Miss."

Viona received the glass from the servant's hand and drank the water slowly.

After his thirst was gone, the servant asked again. "Is Miss hungry?"

Hearing that, Viona realized that she had not eaten since morning. He nodded slowly to respond.

"Then, I'll prepare the meal Miss." Then the servant took a letter and handed it to Viona, "Before, young master Victor told me to hand this letter to Miss."

Viona received an orange letter envelope with carefully placed flower petals as decoration.

"Then I resign, Miss. Please wait a minute, the food will be ready soon."

After the maid left, Viona stared at the envelope in her hand. "Victor August Liez?"

Viona felt that she had seen Victor's name in one place.

"Victor yes, and what is my name in this place? Viona?"

"Victors... Vio..."

Viona was surprised when she realized something.

"Did I move into the short story?!"
