"Mom, why is it so crowded outside?" viona asked as she looked outside the hotel through the window.
The Liez family had finished their lunch and were now enjoying dessert. Viona was busy eating the apple pie that lived half a baking sheet. She was still not full even after eating a plate of roasted chicken and sharing potato cream soup with her brother.
By his side, Victor is reading a book while occasionally helping Viona clean her mouth from the crumbs.
In front of Viona, her stepmother Leili who was also on the side of the glass was reading the newspaper while enjoying white wine in the fifth glass.
Hearing Viona's question, Leili put down the newspaper in her hand and turned towards the window. There are so many people out there filling the streets.
It's not very clear what they're doing from up here. It's just that anyone knows that things outside are very crowded.
"They are preparing for the Tundra festival" Leili said, sipping wine from a glass in his hand. "I didn't know it would be this many."
"Tundra Festival?" repeated Viona, she had never heard of this.
Viona looked at her brother with a curious look. Without his sister asking any questions, Victor understood that his sister was asking for an explanation about the Tundra Festival.
"The Tundra region always welcomes the arrival of autumn by holding festivals. Usually people will buy food and drink, see art and martial arts performances, light a bonfire and dance together, even if lucky we can see the aurora."
*Woah," Viona's eyes looked bright upon hearing the explanation from her brother.
He, Thalia, who lived in the equator never once saw the aurora. Although he once went outside the kingdom with his friends to the polar regions, never once did he see the aurora directly.
"I want to see aurora!" viona exclaimed excitedly, she withdrew her gaze and looked at her stepmother. "Mother, I can go to the festival, right?"
Leili nodded allowing, "Victor accompany Viona, come back when dinner time comes."
"Well, ma'am." Victor replied followed by a happy cry from his sister.
Viona immediately got off the chair and ran out cheerfully.
Victor was happy to see his sister so cheerful, just that there was something that made him worry, "Mom, is that okay? I'm afraid we'll be late back to the mansion in the capital."
"No, after from here we will go to the nearest portal and use teleportation magic." Leili's sharp eyes glanced at the crowd below, "After all, our carriage cannot move through the street."
Leili had finished the fifth glass, she got up and came out of the room. Before the woman actually left, she said, "Take care of your sister, don't lose her again."
His mother's words made Victor speechless. Swallowing a rough saliva, the man nodded steadily.
Before long, his sister's face again appeared peeking at Victor from behind the door. "Sister, why stay quiet? Let's go!"
Victor smiled, "Come on!"
...****************...
"Remember, Viona. Always hold brother's hand" Victor's message before they actually take to the street where the festival is held.
"Good, Brother!"
Victor and Viona have changed into folk clothes. Even so, the Aura emitted by Victor remained clearly visible that he was a noble.
The way he steps, stands firmly, the way he smiles, he is also so agile to avoid collisions with people here.
Unlike Viona who looks like a person who just exited the cave.
His eyes did not focus on looking here and there. When he saw the thing that attracted his eyes immediately looked sparkling. Not forgetting the small murmur constantly escaping from her lips showed that she was amazed for everything in sight.
Moreover, question after question appeared in his mind and was uttered without a second thought.
Even so, Victor patiently answered Viona's every question.
How is Viona not so excited? This is no ordinary festival.
"Woah, there's a man who's got a bull's horn on his head." Viona was amazed to see the two people who were showing off martial arts on stage.
"They are minotaurs, big brother also just first saw them. Because usually they always live in the labyrinth and practice there. Although they rarely come out, they are famous for their distinctive martial arts."
"Ohhhh," They watched the martial act to the end. Victor gives Viona some coins to give to the minotaurs.
Continuing on, they found Viona's gaze fixed on the tent tent set up by the merchants. "Wahhh, what's that?"
"That's cheese, interesting isn't it?"
"Cheese? The one on the rock?"
"Yes, when the cheese melts, you can eat it with bread or potatoes. You want?" victor asked as he pulled Viona into the cheese tent.
The man immediately ordered one even though his sister did not respond. The girl was too stunned to notice the cheese being melted on the hot stone. Occasionally gulp as the seller slices the top of the semicircular cheese and the melts of the cheese flow over one loaf of bread.
The distinctive sound of coins clashing in Viona's ears made the girl turn to the source of the sound. It turns out her brother is paying.
Viona's eyes widened to see the bread with melted cheese on it thrust Victor, "Eat, be careful still hot."
Viona accepted gratefully, "Thank you big brother!"
She had not even said anything but her brother was very sensitive and bought her food.
Well, anyone who saw the twinkle in Viona's eyes and the gurgling of the girl who often gulped, would have understood if she wanted to.
They were looking for a seat so that Viona could eat quietly. But on the way, Viona is attracted to a large blue tent.
"Please join sylph symphony! The show will start soon! Please listen to the melodious voice of the talented sylphs! Please!"
Hearing that, Viona looked at her brother who was much taller than her. "Sister, what is sylph?"
"They are creatures who live in the valley, the sound is very beautiful and are often invited to royal events. But we can't see them."
"Why?"
"Because they don't want their faces to be known, so only a small sound and light is expected to exist. Wanna see?"
Viona looked at the cheese bun in her hand and looked at the crowd lining up to queue up for tickets. "Hm.no. I want to eat," said Viona, shaking her head.
"Well, then, would you like to eat near the fountain?" invite Victor after observing around, the area around the fountain is not too crowded considering the people are still gathered around the show area.
The girl just nodded in agreement. He wanted to sit down wherever his brother took him away.
Before long, they finally reached the fountain. Square-shaped pool with a shower from each corner leads to the middle. Dampen the multi-storey fountain whose water spills from above. Each level has a bird carving and the level is supported by a statue of a sword man.
On each side there are long chairs provided for pedestrians to rest while enjoying the view back and forth people.
Luckily, the brothers got a seat.
Viona heaved a sigh of relief as her butt touched the wooden chair. His feet finally rested.
For some reason, even though his body was still a child, but because his soul was a student who was always exhausted made him feel tired even though he only walked for a while.
But the tiredness was gone when he felt how delicious the cheese that melted on the bread. Moreover, the bread feels soft at the first bite.
"Eum.." a smile splashed on Viona's lips as she felt happiness from the food.
Victor who also bought cheese with potatoes chuckled at how much Viona enjoyed the meal. He who is just a fad to come to buy was curious about the taste.
Sure enough, the cheese is delicious.
Viona finished her cheese bread first. Licking his sticky fingers from the cheese, he stared around. Trying to find new prey.
His eyes found a layer above the transparent sky. Is that magic?
Why is there magic up there?
That layer divides the level buildings along the road in two. Upon further observation, Viona noticed a flickering twinkle flying over. Then, he realized in every building there is a small door that opens and sometimes closes itself when the light is dimly past.
"Sister, what's the twinkle on top of that?"
Victor, who had just finished his last bite, followed his sister's line of sight.
"Oh, they're fairies."
"God?"
"Yes, fairies. They have their own paths and separate from other creatures."
"Why can that be, brother?"
"You can only see the light from their wings, right?" victor asked and responded with a nod from Viona, "Because they're hard to see, so they're given their own path so as not to be hurt by other creatures."
"That means sylphs also wear the tracks above that, huh?"
"Flame, that transparent layer is also made by the sylph to be the limit. Only a creature as small as a fairy could cross that transparent boundary, otherwise it would bounce."
"Ohhh, then why are there small doors above every house? Do they sell things to fairies too?"
"Why is my brother so smart?" praise Victor while rubbing bread crumbs on his sister's cheeks using a handkerchief. He also wiped his sister's hands clean.
"Hehe," Viona raised both her hands happily, "the festival is so exciting!"
Victor looked at the sky which was starting to look reddish. Not feeling the night is almost here, he invites Viona to return to the Radiance inn.
"But I want to see the aurora, sister." said Viona did not want to come back soon.
"Today has not yet entered winter in Tundra, so it seems we can not see the aurora." Victor did not have the heart to see his sister frown, he should not have talked about the aurora in the first place.
Victor bends one of his legs trying to stare into Viona's bowed eyes, "Later we can come back here and see the aurora, Viona."
"really?"
"Of course," to further convince his sister, Victor raised his little finger. "No promise."
Viona hooked her little finger happily, "Alright! Let's go back!"
The brothers returned to the inn after buying a packet of candy.
Victor would not have expected that, in the future, the promise was so hard to keep.
