Two pairs of ruby-sliced eyes stared at Viona simultaneously. One of the warmly smiling Victor, another of the women sitting at the end of the table was directly opposite him. Viona feels that she is Victor's mother as well as his stepmother.
“Sit,” without receiving any greetings from Viona, Leili told the girl nonchalantly.
Ever since entering the dining room, Viona felt a hostile atmosphere enveloping the two of them. Plus the command that came suddenly, made Viona nervous and almost tripped her own leg.
Fortunately, he sped up and stepped up as if nothing had happened.
Her hands clasped tightly the side of the dress, ‘Quiet, Viona calm. They're both people, calm down. They do not bite, most glaring doang.’ He thought inwardly, continuously calming down.
On the other hand, Viona's steps came to a halt. The girl did not know where to sit. He doesn't remember anything nor is he told about it.
Seeing his uneasiness, a male servant came forward and pulled the seat to Leili's left while facing Victor. Viona's face brightened, she thanked him before sitting on the chair.
“No need to be polite, Miss. It's my duty to help you,” said the old man made Viona more aware that this is no longer her world.
“Ah... um,” reply Viona while nodding. He glanced at his mother and stepbrother in turn and looked down at the empty plate.
“Serve the food,” once again command greeting out of Leili.
The kitchen waiter immediately entered with a trolley containing food. They quickly put food on the table. Put the wine glass and pour the red drink in front of Leili.
Viona was amazed at how organized the servants were at work. He could only take his eyes off when the waiter beside him offered him a drink.
“Nona, do you want orange juice as usual?”
The girl nodded, poured orange juice into Viona's glass. He underlined the last two words of the servant.
‘Looks like Viona who used to love orange juice, same as me.’ Thought in the heart.
In addition, the food served near the plate Viona is beef and vegetables favorite. Seafood that he disliked was far out of reach. But Victor ate it without hesitation and did not even touch Viona's favorite food in the slightest.
If Viona's guess was correct, then there was no problem going forward. He can do things he likes without suspecting that he is not the real Viona.
Even so, there is no harm in being careful. Viona needs to observe more about the preferences of the owner of this original body.
Dinner started without a hitch. In addition to Leili's sometimes uncomfortable gaze, Viona was satisfied with this dinner.
The little girl devoured the food without hesitation. The thought of etiquette or whatever disappeared from his head as his eyes looked at the food.
He's hungry. Food is in front of my eyes.
It seemed like he had not eaten home food like this for a long time.
The main dinner is over, the dessert is now served. Viona doesn't really like sweet food but it seems Victor is enjoying it. On the other hand, Victor moved cherries and sour fruits. It's good for Viona because she likes both of them.
While Viona and Victor were busy sharing dessert, Leili put away all the servants in the room so that there were only three of them inside.
Leili spoke up after a silent time observing these two children.
“I heard, you became a student of baron Veiss?” leili asked as she took a sip of wine in her hand.
Viona flinched as she received a question from her stepmother. Victor saw that, “Begini bu,” he was about to interrupt but was immediately silenced by Leili's sharp gaze.
“I asked your sister,” her gaze was directed back to Viona, “so? I don't like to repeat my question.”
‘I can, I dare, let's spirit Viona. Let's just say I'm doing a presentation in front of the killer.’ lecturer
“Iya, mom. I will study with Brother Elvo,” hearing Viona's answer, Leili laughed. Leili's loud laughter made the two children before her stare at each other in confusion.
“The boy still refused to grow old apparently,” his laughter slowly stopped, then Leili looked at Viona, “then, what did you learn?”
Brown iris stared at Leili with determination, “I want to learn magic.”
“Magic?” one of Leili's eyebrows shot up, “I heard you couldn't even do anything with your energy. But,”
Small belittling laughter escaped the lips of the woman, “you want to learn magic?”
Viona smiled, she ignored the condescending sentence and replied firmly. “I want to learn magic because I don't know anything about it, Bu.”
Of course, why learn if it is proficient in everything. Viona, more precisely Thalia had her foundation in the past. Don't forget that Thalia is a math student.
He was convinced that something in this world, could definitely be solved by mathematical logic. Even magic though. He was very sure of that.
In a world filled with magic, the first step that Viona must achieve is mastering magic.
Inside the short story, Viona is unable to get out of prison due to the handcuffs that hold energy from inside the body. If Viona could be proficient in magic, she would definitely know what weaknesses any magic item might be in her way.
Therefore, magic was very important to Viona.
Leili smiled wryly, “Alright, if that's what you want.” Downing the last drop in her glass, Leili continued, “I love that look of yours.”
The woman put down her glass then reached out, “put your hand, I want to give you a gift.”
Seeing that, Victor suddenly stood up in panic. “Mother!”
“Silence Victor, your sister is no longer a child.” Leili's eyes stared fixedly at Viona, “do you think I'd believe you lost your memory? Ck, bullshit.”
Viona's heart skipped a beat, “A-what?”
A cold sweat enveloped his body, he had not even consciously held his breath. Does her stepmother know that she's not the real Viona?
Yet…
“That damn old man locked your memories under the pretext of disgusting,” both corners of his lips raised to form a smile, “your kind mother will unlock your memories, you ready?”
Viona heaved a sigh of relief, it was not what she thought. Mercifully.
Viona's mind refocused. From the words of her stepmother, her memory was locked so that she did not have the slightest bit of information about Viona. It's a good opportunity.
Viona nodded steadily. He glanced at his brother who looked pale and worried. Seeing that, Viona smiled trying to calm down.
“I'm ready, Mom.” Viona said as she placed her hand on Leili's palm. After that, a stinging heat enveloped Viona's hand so that the girl grimaced softly.
The heat began to spread and centered on his head.
“It will be a little painful.”
A tad? Viona wanted to turn the table around and raise objections to it. What's a little sick?! It's so painful!
