Towards Marriage

The date of the wedding has been determined, both parties have also agreed. Alexa was so happy that the marriage would be held sooner than previously planned.

Today Alexa and Xue He are preparing for their wedding. Starting from invitations, food, to wedding clothes.

Alexa showed Xue He some pictures of wedding clothes that she thought were so beautiful. "This dress is pretty, am I fit to wear this?"

Xue He simply replied with a mutter, his two eyes still focused on the phone to read some messages.

"If this?" ask Alexa again.

"If you wear it, everything looks beautiful." That was Xue He's response.

His head and heart were not in the same place as his body. Sometimes busy thinking about Yuan Lu, his heart kept on being restless as it felt doubtful about Yuan Lu's marriage, while his fingers were busy replying to some messages from his aides in the hospital and his men to look for Yuan Lu.

Alexa puffed her cheeks out of neglect, but the way she sulked was by hugging Xue He's arm and grumbling while leaning her head against that arm.

"Xue He, don't ignore me. Next week we're getting married" she said, showing some pictures of the wedding dress, "look, help me pick it."

“Alexa, choose what you like. I will definitely wear it,” Xue He said not wanting to argue.

If back then the one by his side was Yuan Lu, perhaps Xue He's attitude would have been better and ignored all the things that plagued his world and Yuan Lu. The principle was only one, happy Yuan Lu.

However, the more he recalled his memories with Yuan Lu the more painful his heart became. It felt like a huge stone had struck his chest until he had trouble breathing.

Alexa just sighed. A day with Xue He felt like he was going with a robot. Minimal speech, minimal expression, such as not having the spirit. All of that makes Alexa want to scream.

Even to take her home, Xue He was still speaking irate and paying more attention to his phone than his marriage. As usual, he just showed his smile like there was no problem.

“Live to sleep, do not stay up,” Xue He said when Alexa was about to open the car door.

“Good.”

It was then that he recalled the first time he saw Yuan Lu in the hospital and they became acquainted. Alexa saw clearly how Xue he treated Yuan Lu so gently and affectionately. Even his face did not stop expressing.

“I'm very envious of you, Yuan Lu. Hope we can meet again.”

Alexa entered the house while carrying envy, disappointment and fatigue at the same time. He wanted to take a warm bath and lay down his body hoping that tomorrow morning he would have much better happiness.

But when arriving at the house Alexa was actually invited to chat by her father. To discuss the extent of Alexa and Xue He's preparations for the wedding next week.

Unfortunately the answer is only a heavy sigh and Alexa smile that looks forced.

"Still ignored by him?" ask Alexa's Dad.

Alexa nodded and hugged her father. "How do I conquer A-Xue?"

"You sick? If it's heavy for you, take it off. I'll talk to Mr. Tian to cancel your match."

Alexa was surprised to hear his words and immediately refused. "Don't dad! I love A-Xue! I don't want to lose him."

"I've been looking forward to the day when I can be with him. If you do that, I'll be hurt."

There are no lies in Alexa's words. He did love Xue He with all his heart. However, his love was precisely a thorn for his heart.
