Start to Doubt

Last night it was clear Jillian's decision that the girl refused early marriage. This morning, everyone was at the dinner table. Olivia and Kayana are assisted by the housemaid to prepare their breakfast.

While waiting for the preparation of breakfast that was not too ready, Dizon tucked away an impromptu meeting to continue the decision overnight. He said he had not yet secured a final agreement between them and his son Darsh.

"Darsh, Papa wants to ask you a question. As Jillian said last night that she rejected this matchmaking. How's yours?" ask Dizon.

Darsh who had been observing his surroundings since then, now turned to look at his mother. The man will ask his mother for help if his condition is as urgent as it is today.

"Pa, just ask later. Let him have breakfast first. Don't make her mood drop in the morning" Olivia replied. He felt that his son needed him.

"alright. Darsh, our business isn't done yet, son. When did you start coming into the office?" ask Dizon.

"As soon as Jillian gets home, Pa," she replied.

"Why am I, anyway?" jillian Protest.

"Aren't you the one who wants to go for a walk?" sahut Darsh's.

"Of course, don't make a fuss. Eat first, yuk!" take Olivia.

Everyone began to enjoy the food on their plates. The other with Darsh. Once a bribe, it seems that he was trying to count the number of chews he had. He was more dreamy to be exact.

How am I supposed to tell him this? I accepted a friendly relationship with her, suddenly I came and proposed to her. Oh my goodness, what is this ordeal?

"Darsh? Hello," call Olivia.

"Eh, yes, Ma. What's up?" Darsh flinches from his daydream.

"Eat first, Darsh," Olivia scolded.

"Darsh," call Grandma.

"Yes?" Darsh turned his head towards his Grandma.

"Are you also going to reject Grandma's request?" ask Carlotta.

Darsh speechless. If Jillian had already refused, would she still have rejected it as well? How would Grandma feel if she did the same as her cousin's sister?

"Of course not, Grandma. I'll make all Grandma's wishes come true, but give me time, yes," she replied.

All eyes were on her, including her mother and father. Looks like it won't be hard to get Darsh married sooner.

"That's good, Darsh. Grandpa salute you." This time, the old man agreed to his granddaughter's reply. "Oh yes, don't forget to choose a matching girl. That's my message! If I were to choose, you would be angry with me."

Grandpa could always ignite things between all of them. Fortunately, Dizon was not at all.

"Grandpa don't worry. Darsh already has the right candidate. I hope you all can accept it" said Darsh confidently. However, deep down, Darsh wanted to shout with all his might. How could he have asked the girl to get married? He had only known her a few times. Of course, he would get a rejection from her. Not only from her, but from her parents as well.

Olivia felt uneasy seeing her son like that. He believes that Darsh's mind is on the girl right now. In contrast to Kayana and Felix who felt relieved because they were separated from the sudden matchmaking of his daughter.

"Forget Jill, it's not your fault" Darsh replied.

Grandma herself observed her two grandchildren. It is not wrong to ask like that considering all his children married at a young age. Carlotta also did not intend to make her granddaughter suffer because of this marriage. He hopes there is happiness in it.

"Darsh, Grandma apologized to you, son. Grandma didn't mean to put you down with this choice. If you want to cancel this plan, it doesn't matter to me."

Darsh who was done with his morning breakfast, he stood up and approached his Grandma. Darsh holds both Grandma's hands.

"Don't be like that, Grandma. I'll make it happen for you. Pray for your granddaughter." Darsh tries to gain more power to get close to Glenda.

"Of course, Son. Grandma will support you."

For a moment Darsh hesitated to say it. However, there was nothing impossible for his extended family to accept the girl.

"Ehm, Grandma, I wanted to apologize earlier. I say this in front of all of you so that there will be no more rejection for me or the girl. Actually, I've chosen one of the girls that's interesting to me, maybe not to you guys. He comes from the ordinary. If you guys approve of our relationship, then I'll tell her that I asked for it" Darsh explained.

All of his family gathered in the dining room were shocked to hear his words. The other with Olivia. From the beginning he knew about news like this.

"Where can that be, Darsh? It's the same as lowering the level of the Damarion family. Are you aware of your choice? Lest the girl just use your treasure," Grandpa attacked.

"Pa, enough! Let Darsh make his own choice" Felix said.

"Oh, apparently I know. Darsh must have been mimicking you, right? I'm sure Dizon wouldn't agree. I was well aware that my wife had spoiled Felix too much, which is why she did as she pleased without thinking of my consent" Grandpa replied.

The dining table atmosphere was like a battleground. They all attack each other to defend their opinions. Until finally a voice broke their war.

"Pa, Oliv never bothered anyone about Darsh's choice. I will continue to support him. With or without my husband's consent. Because I know what my son looks like" Olivia replied. He did not want his son to be swayed by his father-in-law's words. Dizon will obey whatever he says.

Instantly the atmosphere of the dining table became quiet. No one spoke anymore, except for her husband who went to the office.

"Ma, I'm following your decision. I went to the office to finish some work, after a few more days Darsh would take his place" he said.

"Be careful, Pa," replied Olivia.

After Dizon's departure, no one dared to make a sound. If it wasn't for Darsh having an appointment with his best friend, he'd be lazy to be there too. Promising to have lunch with them, as the time was still long, Darsh chose to go into his room.

"Ma, Darsh go to the room first. Oh yeah, Jill, don't forget before lunch, we'll go to the restaurant I promised you" she said.

"Yes, brother," replied Jillian.

The man went straight into his room and laid himself on the bed. He was thinking about his decision to immediately propose Glenda between right and wrong.

"Am I in too much of a hurry to take a stand? Actually not really. Maybe the time is not right because I just knew him" he said alone.

The decision was correct. She did not want to disappoint her Grandma, but to approach Glenda with a word of marriage made Darsh doubt the girl. He hesitated about getting a painful rejection. Especially when Darsh remembers the girl struggling to ask her relationship status, Darsh only responds to her as a friend and nothing more. Darsh worried. He rubbed his face rough. He is not usually in the position he is in now.
