Ranu Kuncoro heard the roar of a car that stopped in front of his house. The clock shows at eight o'clock. It seemed like it was the sound of Reyhan's car driving Rania home.
Ranu Kuncoro closes a photo album that he likes to open when he feels lonely at home. However, if Rania was already at home, she would not have done so. Because of Rania, her daughter always seemed sad if she saw herself starting to glaze over when looking at the late wife's photo.
"Until we meet tomorrow" Rania's voice was saying goodbye to someone. Rania seems to have gotten off Reyhan's car. Ranu hurriedly returned the photo album inside again in a closet near the living room.
Rania has walked into the house . He heard his footsteps approaching. Rania returned again to her seat in the living room while turning on a televised broadcast. Just to convince the princess if she was busy watching a show on television.
"Dad, not sleeping?"sapa Rania who saw the father was still watching television when he came home.
"Eh, Ran, you've come home,"Ranu returned with a smiling face.
Rania sat down next to her father. Now her father is not what he used to be. His declining health condition makes the father's body thinner. Rania has forced her father to do various kinds of treatment. But Ranu Kuncoro seems to have felt resigned. He just wants to be happy with his family until death picks him up later.
"Dad, have you eaten? I brought my dad's favorite fried rice. Reyhan said, I love fried rice in a corner stall near the entrance hall. So before I go home stop by there first" said Rania while showing two packs of fried rice that her father used to ask Reyhan to buy.
"Well, you know very well, son, if you like this fried rice," Ranu said excitedly. He really likes fried rice in the corner stall near the alley.
"It's all because Reyhan told me, dad," said Rania.
"Yes, usually Reyhan who always brought the fried rice for dad. The boy is really considerate of me," replied Ranu. Rania smiled at the words of her father.
"Well, I'll get you a plate and a spoon in the kitchen first yes, dad," said Rania then she immediately went to the kitchen to pick up the cutlery.
Both of them are now enjoying fried rice together while watching television. Rania looked so happy to see the father eating so voraciously. Sometimes both also laughed because they saw the cuteness of the show on their television channels.
"This is the mineral water, father," said Rania giving a glass of mineral water to the father.
"Thank you, son," said Ranu Kuncoro while receiving a glass of drinking water.
After giving the father water to drink, Rania also sat on the sofa in their living room. Rania is so happy to make her dad look happy tonight. Although, it was only with a pack of fried rice alone.
"Yes, dad, I've been trying to find a job here. And I've also sent out some applications. Hopefully someone will call me soon, father," Rania said.
"Why don't you come to work with your aunt there, son," Ranu Kuncoro said. Because according to Ranu, Rania's life there is more secure than rania being here. Rania disagrees with her father's opinion.
"I've lived with my aunt there for a long time. And now I want to live with my dad, 'cause that's the only dad I have. I want to be devoted to my father, "Rania's sincere words are quite touching the feelings of Ranu Kuncoro who heard it. He did not expect that the daughter he had considered to have once brought bad luck to his family's life was precisely the one who cared so much for him.
"No, I'm sad again" said Rania, as she turned her lips to look at the father's eyes, which began to glaze over.
"Sorry, son, sorry," said Ranu Kuncoro, rubbing his eyes.
"Dad, always feel guilty because all this time can not raise yourself well. Even the father is now the only one who troubles you," said Ranu Kuncoro to take out his unkempt which he had been self-serving.
Ranu did not expect if the sister-in-law was able to educate her daughter well like this. Ranu was very grateful with Zahratusifa who had worked hard to raise Rania. It even financed Rania's entire living needs until she grew up like this.
"Dad, don't think anymore, yeah. I never blamed Dad for what happened. All of this is the destiny of the Almighty. We His people can only carry out what He has outlined. I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to make my father happy. So, from today on, don't beat yourself up again, yeah. I would be very sad if you continue to blame yourself for what happened. Let the past be the past. I want us together to welcome the future" Rania said with passion and hope before her father.
Ranu Kuncoro smiled as he patted the princess on the shoulder. His daughter is now so mature in thinking. Ranu Kuncoro can no longer make his daughter sad.
"Yes, son, I will no longer make you sad, I promise."
