This Longing

Ranu Kuncoro was sitting in the lounge at his house enjoying a cup of coffee with Reyhan Pramono. The two were listening to an email sent by Rania Kuncoro to her father and childhood friend, Reyhan.

I miss you so much, Dad. I'll be home as soon as I finish graduation. I've already accelerated my graduation exam. I don't know when this graduation ceremony will arrive. The time here feels long moving. I can't wait to get back to Indonesia. I miss the atmosphere at home. I miss my mother too much.

Reyhan stopped and sighed after reading the contents of the email message from Rania. Why also Rania always wrote a little message to him. And again a photo that makes Reyhan increasingly miss the figure of his little friend who is now grown up and very beautiful. Reyhan can't wait to see Rania again.

Ranu Kuncoro could only sigh. He looked at the picture of himself and his wife holding Rania. Ranu Kuncoro did not expect that he would part ways so soon with Risa.

If only he was not as stupid as that time so that made Risa feel burdened. Maybe Risa won't go out of her way. Ranu Kuncoro pondered a lot about what he had done so that his family became what it is today.

"Uncle, I've written a reply to Rania. Uncle, you can check first" Reyhan politely asked Rania's father to check the message he had written for Rania.

"No need, uncle trusts you" Ranu said, rejecting Reyhan's request. Because Ranu knew Reyhan would write well the message he asked for earlier.

Reyhan always took the time to accompany Ranu Kuncoro's days during his new release from prison. Reyhan accompanies her playing chess, fishing, and also replying to emails sent by Rania, as it is today.

From there Ranu Kuncoro already knew that Reyhan cared so much for him because Rania loved him so much. Therefore, Ranu Kuncoro always received Reyhan's presence well.

Reyhan tucked a picture of himself in Rania's house in the background. Reyhan smiled as the email message was sent to Rania. Hope the girl reads it soon, baby Reyhan.

Reyhan suddenly remembered that he had an appointment with his friend. Reyhan hastily turned off his laptop.

"Ah, uncle, I think I should go home. I forgot if there was an appointment with a friend" Reyhan said in a polite tone.

"Oh my God, Reyhan, reduce your forgetful nature, son," Ranu said as he shook his head. Reyhan only smiled smirkingly at the advice of the father of the girl he liked.

"I'll say yes, uncle. Tomorrow I'll stop by again" Reyhan said. Ranu Kuncoro only nodded as Reyhan bade him farewell.

"Be careful on the road, Rey," Ranu's message to her.

"Yes, uncle,"sahut Reyhan.

Ranu Kuncoro sees Reyhan's departure until he is nowhere to be seen. Ranu sighed back. These are his days after his release from prison. It felt lonely after no more Reyhan accompanied. And at a time like this Ranu always misses the princess who is now far away in the land of others.

"Dad, miss you, son," Ranu Kuncoro said as he looked at the photo of Rania displayed in the family room.
