The Light in the Dark of the Night

"Why are you daydreaming from now on, Ran?"reyhan asked to look at Rania's gloomy face since they studied together this afternoon until now.

Rania who realized when being invited to talk by Reyhan just smiled.

"Sit here, Rey" Rania told her childhood friend. Reyhan also complied with Rania's call. He sat down next to Rania.

"Rey, look over there" said Rania, pointing towards the star-studded night sky. Reyhan followed Rania's direction. Reyhan also saw many stars appear in the sky that night. That's what Rania was looking at.

"Isn't it beautiful there, '" said Rania, smiling at the many stars strewn across the sky.

Reyhan only smiled at Rania's words. Reyhan turned his head towards Rania and found the smiling face of the girl staring at the sky.

"You miss someone?"reyhan asked because he knew Rania would do this if she felt like she missed someone.

Rania stared at Reyhan and nodded her head indicating that what Reyhan suspected was true.

"Yes, Rey, I miss you. I miss you so much" said Rania with teary eyes.

Without saying much, Reyhan immediately hugged Rania's shoulder and rested the girl's head on her shoulder.

"You can cry as much as you can" Reyhan said, looking up at the night sky. No voice heard by rania. Only the sound of sobbing could be heard.

Reyhan had expected this. Rania must have been having something wrong that made her come to this. Rania has not concentrated on studying.

"You can tell me what your problem is after you're satisfied crying, ran," Reyhan said. Rania just nodded her head speechlessly.

Reyhan is not just a childhood friend to Rania. But Reyhan can also be an older brother who always hears the complaints of Rania all this time. Only together with Reyhan can make Rania pour out her heart.

"I met him" said Rania making Reyhan's forehead wrinkle.

"Him? She who?"reyhan was confused. Reyhan did not understand who Rania meant.

"The person I helped at the time, Rey," said Rania. Oh, only now does Reyhan understand who Rania meant.

"Yesterday, I accidentally met him when I came home from the bookstore" Rania replied.

"Oh, I see, then what makes you sad, Ran?"ask Reyhan back. He still did not know what caused Rania to be this sad.

"That's because the person I helped was the son of Handoko's family, Rey," Rania said slowly. And Reyhan was really surprised to hear the story from Rania. Now she knew what caused Rania to become moody.

"Have you, Ran, didn't you help her sincerely too, do you regret ever helping her?"ask Reyhan to Rania. Rania's answer was no.

"I never regret ever helping her, Rey," said Rania with confidence. Reyhan smiled at Rania's reply. He knew Rania was not a person who could easily hold a grudge.

"Here you go, forget it then, okay," Reyhan and Rania just answered with a nod. Reyhan just stroked the top of Rania's head fondly.

"Yes, I have something so you can be happy again" Reyhan said, and he picked up something in his school bag. Rania is curious as to what Reyhan will give her.

"What's that, Rey?"rania and Reyhan asked something that made Rania laugh.

"Let's play this" Reyhan said. Rania agreed.

Seeing Rania's beautiful smile made Reyhan feel happy again. Rania loves fireworks. And now that smile has returned to Rania.
