Kayra chose to sit in the back seat. He poured out all his distress in his cries. Grandpa Ujang who saw it was confused. But he chose to remain silent and not comment at all.
Along the way, they were caught in silence. Grandpa Ujang once confirmed Kayra's situation through his rearview mirror. Kayra was very sad. Her tears continued to flow, a stifled sob escaped from between her lips.
Kayra's circumstances made Ujang's grandfather worried. In his heart he thought, is his grandson unhappy with his new marriage?
This was the second time, Ujang's grandfather saw Kayra's sadness because of Dariel. It is no longer forgivable. He did not want to, his grandson continued to be sad. He has to do something.
Not felt, Grandpa Ujang's car has entered the yard. Their arrival was welcomed by Neta's mother and Sari's grandmother.
Kayra quickly wiped away her tears. Although she tried to hide her crying scars, her swollen eyes and red nose exposed her sadness. At first glance Neta's mother and Sari's grandmother knew there was sadness that Kayra was feeling.
Sari's grandmother and Neta's mother immediately washed their hands and joined Kayra at the dinner table. They compactly did not address Kayra's swollen eyes. Grandma Sari is busy preparing food while Nita's mother makes apple juice.
Before long, lunch was ready. Everyone gathered at the dining table. Grandpa Ujang led the prayer. The eating show looked a little stiff, each person held back. They agreed to occupy themselves in each other's minds.
When the lunch was over, Grandpa Ujang opened the conversation.
"Kayra, grandson. Is there anything you want for your family that loves you so much?" Grandpa Ujang's question surprised Kayra.
He stammered, not yet ready with the answer he was about to give.
"E... I'm fine, Mother, I'm just getting carried away." Kayra replied without daring to look at the beads of her grandparents and mother's eyes. Kayra's nervousness was caught clearly by Grandpa Ujang.
"Udahlah Ra.. do not need to be covered up again!" Grandfather's gentle tone was full of emphasis.
Kayra sighed deeply. He will not change his decision and now he has to say it to his family. Kayra could no longer retreat. His decision was solely for the good of Dariel as well as to remove his guilt.
"Rara's getting a divorce." Kayra said briefly.
Neta's grandparents and mother looked at each other. In their minds, there was a big question mark. What's going on between Kayra and Dariel?
"Ra... What's the matter, son?" Neta's mother asked her to know what exactly happened to Kayra. Is her daughter unhappy with her marriage?
"I want a divorce, Mom..." Answer Kayra gamang.
Neta's mother increasingly did not understand what exactly had happened to her daughter.
"Ra. whatever your decision, Mother, grandmother and grandfather will definitely support. But please Ra... tell me why?" Ask Neta's mom to urge her.
Kayra shook her head weakly. "I just want a divorce." Kayra replied as she passed. He leaves behind three people who are still confused by Kayra's desire to divorce. Kayra ran up to her room on the second floor.
Kayra shed her tears there. He did not expect his decision to divorce Dariel to be painful. He did not want to be separated from Dariel who he loved more and more. While the curse could make him kill Dariel at any time.
Dariel hugged Kayra. He also felt the turmoil that his wife felt. Dariel's fingers unceasingly stroked Kayra's long hair. Occasionally the sprinkling of Kayra's head.
"Ra. I'm not leaving you. We'll win against the curse. And we'll live happily together forever." Once again the crest of Kayra's head. The smell of the smell of jasmine immediately made Dariel feel calm. He fell asleep hugging his wife tightly as if afraid of leaving Kayra.
Tok...
The sound of knocking on the door woke the married couple who were fused in the warm embrace. They were shocked and reflexively sat on the side of the bed. Still trying to collect consciousness debris after waking up from a forced sleep.
"Ra. It's dinner time. Quick down...!" The cry of Neta's mother stirred up Kayra's consciousness.
"Yes Ma... Rara take a shower first.." Kayra replied with a shout offsetting the voice of Neta's mother's cry. There were footsteps outside the room moving away. Kayra looked around. Her tears came back. As she slept, she felt her husband. He felt Dariel's warm embrace, he also smelled the scent of Dariel's masculine perfume. Is it all just a dream?
Kayra buried her face between her palms. Farewells can be easily done. But in reality, he still needed Dariel by his side.
Kayra shower soon. He did not want to make his family wait too long.
The atmosphere of the dining table back gripped silence. Each struggles with thoughts and prejudices. Only the twang of spoons and forks became the filler of his soundtrack.
Neta's mother became the first to break the silence.
"Ra... are you sure of your decision to divorce Dariel?" Ask Neta's mother to expect an explanation from her daughter.
Kayra pensive. He still collected the best vocabulary that could express his feelings. Without having to open the veil of the curse that he could not explain.
"Mom.I can't live with him anymore. I want a divorce from her." Answer Kayra. Again, there is no reason behind his decision.
"Yes.. but why? What reason?" Ask Neta's mother in high intonation. Ibu Neta really can't wait for an answer from Kayra that she thinks is not fundamental at all.
Kayra lowered her head, as if she wanted to merge into a grain of rice on her plate. He envies the rice grains that do not bother to think of happiness or sacrifice for the happiness of others.
Neta was already about to throw her harsh words. But the arms of Sari's grandmother stopped him. Grandma Sari said softly to him.
"Have not forced it too much. Maybe Rara's not ready to tell us. Give him time." Grandma Sari's whispers calmed her daughter down.
"Ra. I won't force you to tell me why you're divorcing Dariel. But my mother asked, think carefully. Because a big decision should never be made in a volatile emotional state. Don't make mistakes. Better, for some time you guys didn't meet. And use that time to reflect and think about the best move forward." Nita said as she stroked Kayra's fine hair.
Kayra lowered her head. He could not see the disappointed look of his family.
"I'm sorry Rara. This is Rara's decision. We'd better just end a relationship...." Kayra could not continue her words. He moved out of his chair.
"I'm sorry Rara has disappointed you." Kayra passed away. Go back into his room to spill all his fear.
