CHRONICLE GODSFALL

CHRONICLE GODSFALL
Life and Death in Balance

The knife only scratched Slyfox's neck; it didn't actually sever his head from his entire body. This was because, right at the critical moment, the mysterious man's acute hearing caught a very soft whistling sound. He was completely unprepared for the two cold blades whistling in the air as they shot straight at him.

It is a pair of long, slender, sharp scalpels. One of the scalpels was fired towards the man's chest, while the other blade was aimed directly at his forehead. There was absolutely no shortage in the speed, timing, or execution of these attacks. The scariest thing of all was as if those two scalpels had appeared out of nowhere! Even someone as sensitive as the mysterious man was simply unable to tell who launched this attack on him.

If the mysterious man stubbornly persevered with his attempt to decapitate the shooter, there would be no way for him to escape these two attacks. It was possible that he could make a slight adjustment to ensure that the scalpel did not hit him in any critical area, but when he saw the glittering blue light covering his blade, he immediately ignored this idea.

This was a truly deadly attack, and from the beginning to the end, the man still had no idea who launched this attack. The mysterious man had stored thirty percent of his strength as reserves in this battle, which was the right choice to make. That way, if something unexpected happened, he would have enough strength left to keep himself safe. However, the deadly attack he aimed at the shooter was with all the speed and power he could muster.

In other words, the mysterious man himself was in a very vulnerable situation for a moment. Although the moment is short, an old, experienced, and deadly assassin will always be ready for the right moment to strike. And how could such a deadly assassin not use poison for such a critical attack?

Both scalpels have been smeared with a powerful nerve-killing substance. Even if they did not strike a fatal point, a single bit of them would be enough to ensure that he would instantly lose most of his combat power. It's too dangerous. He is not able to take risks!

And so the mysterious man suddenly halted his steps, his long blade piercing Slyfox's neck as they swung backwards to block the scalpel. The mysterious man's sea-black eyes once again began to change, but he still had no idea where the killer was hiding.

Holy hooch! Holy hooch! Another pair of sharp scalpels flew towards him. But this time, even Cloudhawk saw a body moving at high speed in launching an attack, not to mention the mysterious man. When Cloudhawk saw who it was, his eyes almost glared out of their sockets.

No wonder he hadn't seen Mantis all this time!

Cloudhawk thought Mantis was not taking part in the fight. So it turns out, Mantis hid herself among the other mercenaries! When he hid himself, even Cloudhawk did not have the slightest hunch that he was present; in fact, Cloudhawk did not even realize that they numbered one person more than usual. The reason why Mantis hid herself in the area around Slyfox in a shadow-like manner was so that she could deal with a situation like this!

As Mantis threw two more scalpels at high speed and the mysterious man began to retreat, Mantis suddenly tipped over to the other side at incredible speed. The dark blue dagger gleamed with a cold light as it pierced towards the mysterious man! It was a quick, steady, and merciless attack!

The speed that Mantis had just displayed was as fast as that of the deceased Wulf. He was in full control of the tempo of this fight, and this attack was also perfect. Not even a heartbeat had passed since the mysterious man dropped the second pair of scalpels, but now a deadly and venomous blue dagger was right before his eyes.

This new attacker is very dangerous! The mysterious man had been fighting for quite a while, but for the first time he felt like he was being stalked by a poisonous snake. If this dagger stabbed him just a little, it would definitely deal a deadly blow to Mantis. The mysterious man sent the tip of his long blade scratching the dagger, causing a line of sparks to erupt in the air, then spin the other way as he gave a rotating slash towards Mantis. However, Mantis did not hesitate at all as he leapt back with incredible speed and agility, borrowing from the momentum of the clash.

The most important rule of an assassin is to successfully kill a target with one strike. If you fail, your goal is to quickly retreat safely. This is the basic rule to being a murderer!

The mysterious man's attack missed, but before he could recuperate, a cold, sinister, and deadly gaze flashed across Slyfox's eyes. Actually, this is all a plot! The shooter accidentally lets the mysterious man close in, allowing the killer to launch a series of deadly attacks. Now that the mysterious man's offensive rhythm had been completely disrupted, the weakness in his movements had been revealed.

It's not really the killer's responsibility to actually kill this guy. Slyfox had been waiting for the right moment all along. Given the situation and given how close they were, how could he possibly miss?

The process may sound complicated, but it happens very quickly. Mantis had thrown out four scalpels, caught the mysterious man completely off guard and disrupted his rhythm, then launched a deadly attack that forced the man to reveal a fatal flaw in his defense. This entire process took less than two seconds! This was more than enough time for the Slyfox to fire the perfect shot.

The crack!

The last bullet exploded with fire tendrils from the barrel of the revolver. The mystery man must admit that these people are tough. Real hard. They could definitely be described as some of the top experts from the wastelands. But that's not enough. The man's body suddenly seemed enlarged, almost as if all of his muscles had instantly become several times larger than before. He instantly unleashed 120% of his full strength!

Immediately after Slyfox fired his weapon, the mysterious man jumped into the air, using one long blade to block the bullet, then once again stabbed with the other towards Slyfox, using one long blade to block the bullet, sending that cold sword straight into his heart!

Everyone is overwhelmed by this. Not only was he able to block the attack, he was even able to counterattack in mid-air?

Slyfox is out of bullets. Mantis was in no position to stop the attack.

A hint of a mocking smile appeared on the mysterious man's face as his cold blade inched ever closer to Slyfox's chest. He would eventually kill this dangerous shooter, once and for all. A thin and unattractive little figure suddenly appeared from behind Slyfox's back. The child held a rifle in his hand, and the black barrel was aimed directly at the mysterious man.

Slyfox let out a loud shout. "SHOT HIM!"

When the mysterious man's attention had been focused on the two experts in front of him, the ordinary-looking Cloudhawk had taken the opportunity to hide himself right behind the Slyfox. Cloudhawk knew that if he wanted the opportunity to shoot and kill this person, the position he had just chosen was the right one. And now, his chance has come!

The mysterious man's body was in the middle of the air. No soldier, no matter how strong, would be able to find the influence to dodge while in the air. Moreover, the two of them were very close to each other! The mysterious man's knife was about to kiss Slyfox's clothes, which meant that he had sent himself directly into the waiting gun barrel.

Cloudhawk pulled the trigger.

Countless steel pellets exploded. A scattered rifle explosion was hard to avoid in any situation, let alone in the air. The mysterious man's black robe was completely torn to shreds as he himself was thrown three or meters back from the force of the punch. He fell to the ground, rolling a few times before he stopped face down as a stream of blood started flowing from his body.

They've finished him off! Everyone revealed expressions of excitement and excitement!

“Not bad, Son!”

"Good job!"

"Beautiful!"

All the mercenaries shouted in celebration, and even Woola let out some howls of congratulations. As for the sweepers, strange expressions appeared on their faces. They never imagined that there would be anyone who could defeat their boss!

In fact, less than a minute had passed since the cloaked figure had first started his attack on Slyfox. This all happened so quickly that it was impossible for ordinary people to respond. As for the mercenaries, there was clearly no way they could plan for this beforehand. This all happened purely from a silent and instinctive relationship.

If Mantis was just one heartbeat slower, Slyfox would be hacked to death. If Slyfox did not leave one last bullet for the end or hesitated just half a second after Mantis launched his attack, then his shot would not be able to force the man to jump into the air to dodge. And if Cloudhawk was a little slower in firing his rifle, all his previous efforts would have been in vain.

Thankfully, they have all worked together smoothly, perfect coordination. In the end, they ended up dealing with that dangerous enemy.

Cloudhawk gasped for breath, his tense nerves finally calmed down. He could hardly believe what had just happened. Did the shot that killed the sweeper leader really come from his hand?

This feeling of life and death was separated by a thread .. This feeling was extremely overwhelming!

But Slyfox and Mantis were completely calm. "The Mad Dog once hailed your combat instincts as extraordinary!" For once, Slyfox said a few words of praise to Cloudhawk. “It looks like he's telling the truth. I'm just glad you didn't waste all the hard work I did to train you.”

“Not bad at all.”

As everyone was celebrating, a relaxed cold voice suddenly sounded from the ground. Countless astonished gazes were instantly attracted to the mysterious man's 'corpse. "But in the end, you didn't quite get the job done."

The remaining six maneaters and dozens of thugs had charged forward, stopping right in front of their leader. As for the outpost troops, they also retreated. The two sides once again stared at each other from a close distance.

This is really weird. Cloudhawk must have hit the man directly! The man was not wearing any steel armor or other defensive equipment; otherwise, there was no way he could move with such speed and agility. How then? How did he survive? Does he have an immortal body?

The mysterious man got up, his tattered robe barely hanging from his body. His face was previously as pale as paper, but now many snake scales appeared on its surface. Recalling his strange eyes being completely pitch-black, he actually looked like an ominous creature.

The mysterious man threw away his tattered robe, revealing his entire upper body. Although he was not as muscular as the Mad Dog, his muscles were extremely toned and flat, and seemed to possess strength like an explosive panther. His skin, however, was almost abnormally pale .. and his pale skin was completely covered by slender scales that looked like snake scales.

The shotgun pellet had blown a huge wound into his chest, and the dozens of steel pellets had clearly penetrated deep into his body. Yet ... although the wound was frightening to look at, it was actually nothing more than a superficial flesh wound. The muscles around the pellets slightly flexed, and one by one the blood-stained pellets started to come out and fall to the ground.

Cloudhawk finally realized that these mutant scales served as a form of protection for him. He also had an extremely high level of control metapower, and had near-perfect control over his strength. As a result, as soon as the pellets exploded through his scales, he immediately tightened the local muscles around each pellet, ensuring that none of them were able to attack his heart or any other vital organ.

Cloudhawk had hit him with a perfect shot, but that was meaningless. Wounds like this are not wounds at all.

The defenders of the outpost had rather unpleasant expressions on their faces. How much strange power did this mysterious person have?

The mysterious man's gaze remained as calm and serene as ever. “It will be useless to kill you. I suggest you leave Blackflag Outpost and work for me instead. The whole desert is ours. And together, we can achieve something big!”

Now, everyone knew that he still had not used his full strength, even now! There were still more than 150 sweepers; their main battle power had been maintained. The outpost, however, had suffered terrible casualties and did not have much combat power left. The current situation looks very bleak.

Another shot? Cloudhawk knows his own limits. They had once managed to catch the man off guard; there was no way the man would let that happen again! But right at this moment, a voice that Cloudhawk had never heard before suddenly sounded from afar.

“You want to hunt down the guards from Blackflag Outpost? What makes you think I'd approve?”
