CHAPTER 29

After cleaning some light dust in the corner of my white dress that contrasts with the white color and combing my hair that was a little messy because it was blown by the wind . After neatly combing my hair, Elis again put on a silk ribbon decorated with strands of pearls shining in the light of the sun . I did deliberately to dress up simple, because I thought Elis would not be too confused when tidying me later in the villa .

" Miss, it's done" Elis said slowly

I got up and turned to the right and to the left while looking at my reflection in the mirror, 'well it's beautiful again ' I thought curtly while giggling amusedly . Elis who saw me laughed to herself while looking at the mirror was a little confused, but she remained quietly waiting at the side .

After making sure it was neat again, I also invited Elis to go down .

" Come down" I said and walked towards the door

Elis who followed behind was reminded of his rejection earlier, he would open his mouth to talk but thinking about the moment seemed not right then he closed his mouth again while thinking ' later on ' then walk back following quietly behind me .

I walked down the stairs back downstairs, I saw Curtis who was talking to Mr. Lin on the large sofa of the living room . I walked towards them, when I was near the table I saw a lot of papers about the record of expenses and income about the plantation . I walked then sat down beside Curtis, Mr. Lin and Elis who were standing at the side looking at my actions with surprise but not daring to speak .

I sat next to Curtis holding a ledger in his hand and a manual calculator in his left hand, he was serious about the numbers in the ledger . I looked into the ledger held by Curtis and saw the numbers of income and expenses written there .

Mr. Lin and Elis were so shocked to see my actions that I was speechless, what was even more surprising was the response from their Young Master who seemed oblivious to my presence and was not at all disturbed by all my actions . Their young master who was always quiet, cold, and aloof was now not bothered at all with the presence of a girl who was sitting next to him with no distance at all .

Mr. Lin and Elis were still dumbstruck with their minds wandering everywhere, whereas I had no regard for what was with them or what they were thinking . I saw Curtis with his frown being at war with the numbers in the ledger in his hand .

I glanced at the picnic basket that was still lying as before at the end of the table, then glanced at the appearance of Curtis who was still wearing the same clothes, she said, it's just that now the buttons over the shirt and his arms are opened to make it more relaxed .

' did he continue to sit here from earlier ?? ' I thought in my heart

" His handsome brother, I've brought a lot of good cakes . Let's eat first "I said quietly beside him

" Uhm, you used to be "he said briefly without looking at me

" But I want to eat together, what a pleasure it is to eat alone" I said with a frown

Curtis stopped counting and turned to me flat, still pouting my protest sign . Mr. Lin who saw his Young Master being interrupted by me for trivial reasons became worried about me, because Mr. Lin understood very well the nature of his Young Master who could not be disturbed at all while working . So Mr. Lin was very nervous when Curtis stopped his work and turned his gaze directly at me with a flat expression, saying, Elis who was standing at the back was as nervous as Mister Lin but what was the power of the little girl could only lower her head in fear .

Curtis just looked at me silently, not caring about the little things like the swearing I made . His gaze softened as if looking at his little girl who was now angry with her funny, the corner of his mouth slightly rose as if pampering .

Curtis, who initially only wanted to tease his little girl but who would have thought he was now shocked to speechless when he saw Cleo flipping through the calculator smartly in his left hand and writing by hand right . It didn't even take 1 minute for her little girl to understand the accountant's book from the estate which Curtis said was enough to give her a headache every week . Now Curtis' expression is getting more serious every second accompanied by the sound 'no no no no no no no ' of the beads in the manual calculator colliding .

The last sound of the beads that sounded, signifying I had finished counting . I scraped the results of the last number and the supporting notes for the next evaluation at the end of the writing .

I put the quill pen back into the ink container on the table, then took a quick look at my work and turned proudly to Curtis who was still pecking beside me .

" Handsome brother, I'm done" I said with an arrogant smile

Curtis regained his shock and turned to look at me who was still smiling proudly and arrogantly towards him . Curtis grabbed the ledger on the table, and he checked carefully on the book's accounting work .

' I didn't think he could actually solve it, even more so the calculations were so smart and easy to understand ' Curtis thought

Curtis is still looking down on the results, and I can't wait for Curtis to come any faster . I grabbed the book again from his hand, Curtis frowning unhappily at my actions .

" Don't look again, until when you'll see her handsome brother . Didn't you promise to obey me if I help you, now you have to listen to me "I said directly

Curtis's hand was stretched out as if he was going to get back the book I was holding, but I immediately kept it away from him .

Mr. Lin who had seen me that counted so quickly and easily was so shocked that his mouth was wide open, he had not yet recovered from his shock now he felt his heart stop beating from my sudden scream . Elis was not much different from his reaction with Mr. Lin, he did not expect Miss Cleo would finish the Young Master's job so easily . Elis felt that Miss Cleo was not only very beautiful but also smart, it was appropriate that she spoke arrogantly before but of course Elis felt that it was not wrong .

I just giggled at Curtis's word .

Curtis allowed himself to be pulled to the dinner table by Cleo, Mr. Lin consciously carried the picnic basket lying on the table and followed Miss Cleo and her Young Master to the dining table . Curtis was sitting in the main position while I was sitting to his right, Mr. Lin lifted the heavy basket onto the table with both hands and placed it in front of me .

Elis consciously brought 2 sets of cutlery and put it in front of us . I opened the cover of the picnic basket, and began to bring out one by one my favorite pastries, sandwiches, and snacks onto the table . In an instant the simple dining table had been covered in various types of light snacks that looked beautiful, delicious, and expensive . I took out 2 flower tea flasks and the fresh fruit juice would serve it with tea sets when I saw the table in front of me was already full of cake plates .

" Is it full ??! " i wonder

Curtis sighed while looking at the table had now been filled with various types of light snacks that were clearly visible coming from the upper noble class .

" there's more ?? " he asked slowly but was very astonished in his mind

" there is only 1 set of tea and 1 flask of fruit juice" I said, showing it in my hand

Curtis got up to arrange a little cake plates on the table, and stacked a few small jars of snacks in the corner . I put a teapot and tea cup set in the room Curtis provided, and I poured the tea in the thermos into the beautiful and quality ceramic teapot I carried .

After serving all the food I brought, I sat back in my chair followed by Curtis sitting in his chair . I pitched a gaze at Mr. Lin who was standing politely on the edge with Elis beside him who was looking down politely, but I can see that once in a while he would steal a glance at the cakes on the table with his eyes sparkling with curiosity .

" Mister Lin, Elis, come sit down, let's eat together" I said with a friendly smile

Curtis was quite surprised when he heard me say that, he did think that his little girl was different from the other nobles but he did not think that he would be willing to eat together with the low-status maids .

Old man Lin and Elis who heard my voice were immediately confused and a little scared because of my words, they had never once thought in their lives to be able to eat such luxurious food in front of him now let alone to eat together with their Lord of honorable status at the dining table together . So when they heard the invitation from Miss Cleo who said to come and eat together they were very confused about what to answer .
