CHRISTIAN POV

It's currently showing at ten in the morning on Thursday, and someone is knocking on Christian's door.

"Lake in."

Nadya walks into Christian's office, and Christian smiles. Nadya is my sister's personal assistant. Nadya kept me and my brother organized. "Chris, the apprentice candidates are all here, and ready for the interview."

Christian stays focused on his pc. "Okay, how many people?"

"with all the tests that have been done and the two previous interviews that they did, there are three candidates who made it to this stage."

"okay, which candidate do you like?" ask Chris.

"i like Tiara," replied Nadya. "i think, he has something necessary."

"well, to get to this stage, they all have something we need, but let's see who's the best of this interview." every year our company receives the best internship candidates from all over the region.

"let's go in for the first candidate" Christian asked Nadya.

"alright."

Christian prepares a question sheet that must be asked to each candidate. I've prepared a notebook and a pen.

There was a knock outside the door of my office.

"enter."

Christian's office door opened, and looked up. Then I glanced down.

Therehewas.

the culprit who attacked me with underware. Our mouths gaped in shock at the same time.

"you . . . Christian Miles?" Jeandra surprised.

"are you kidding me?" christian snapped. "i can't even walk because of you, and now you're here to apply for a job?"

"trust me. I don't know if it's you." Jeandra snapped back.

"or won't you attack me?" Christian gasps.

"no, I will still attack you; I will not come today."

Christian raises his head back in disgust. "are you effing kidding me?"

Jeandra strangled and scrunched her net. "so. . . You're lying."

"about what?"

"you don't know my mom from the office."

"i know your mother because of this job, and why are we talking about your mother?"

"why did you come to my house to see my mother? Why don't you just come to his office?"

"first. . ." Christian pointed to the chair in front of him. "sit down!" I snapped as I picked up the crutches and moved them. Jeandra sat in front of me.

"second, last time I knew, it was your mother's house. Third, it's none of your business the reason I wanted to talk to your mother.by the way my ankle was pitched completely broken. Thanks for asking."

"do you think this is funny?"

"no, I think you're lying. It's really your underware, and you don't have to waste time interviewing me about this job. I'm not interested anyway."

Christian shook his head. Christian was not surprised by Jeandra's attitude.

Christian and Jeandra looked at each other.

"don't tell my mom I came here today."

Christian scrunched his forehead. "your mother doesn't know?"

"no, and I really appreciate it if she doesn't know it."

"why didn't you tell her?"

"i'll give you a surprise if I'm accepted."

Christian looks at Jeandra as Christian processes Jeandra's words. "why don't you tell your mother if you want this job? this job application has been going on for months.

Netra Jeandra stared at the carpet below her. "I don't want mom to be disappointed if I don't get this job."

"your mother won't be disappointed if you're not accepted, I know that's a fact."

Her jaw locked hard as Jeandra stared at the carpet.

"why do you want this job?" ask Christian

"i want to learn what to do and take over Anderson's Media company." Jeandra paused for a moment. "so, my mother doesn't have to work too hard."

Christian looked at Jeandra.

"He's done enough." Jeandra swiped her shoes onto the carpet. "I don't want her to worry anymore."

Christian's heart was filled. "you think you should protect your mother?"

"i don't think; I know that." Jeandra stood up, "it's okay." Jeandra exhaled deeply. "i won't waste your time."

he was right; he had to protect his mother. Clara deserves protection. I watched her for a moment, and I had to admit, but strangely I was impressed by her loyalty to Clara.

"sorry about your ankles." Jeandra.

"really?"

"no." Jean looked at Chris. "don't tell me you wouldn't do the same thing if you found an underware in your mom's bag."

"no, actually I won't do it." I muttered flatly. "because. . . I'm not psychotic."

Jeandra rolled her eyeballs around. "whatever." Jeandra walked towards the door.

"the interviewee usually shakes hands." Christian called.

"not this time." Jeandra turned and left. The door reads "click" quietly behind him.

Christian looked at the door Jeandra had passed by a moment ago. And then Christian calls Nadya through the intercom. "Nadya, please send the next candidate yes."

"alright."
