The Part 44
After saying goodbye, Yudha walked towards the campus parking lot without looking back. Her heart and mind are in turmoil, plus Sofia refuses to go with her.
Yudha drove his bike back home, in vain had his struggle to get Sofia. In the end, he had to leave his girlfriend.
Arriving home, Yudha entered his room with shaky steps. Protests were no longer useful because Bagas would not change his decision.
Bagas appeared at the door of Yudha's room, he stood observing the figure of his sister who looked desperate. However, as much as possible to hold back and remain calm even though actually in his heart was also sad.
"Guard your things, we're leaving tomorrow morning." Bagas opens the sound.
Yudha only glanced at him without saying anything, dashed his hopes and there was nothing else he could do but surrender.
"Sir, can you give me a few days?" yudha is weak.
Bagas walked up to his brother, and sat down next to Yudha.
"The ticket is ready for Jud, there's no way you can cancel it."
"Should be, brother also thought about the situation of uncle Herman's family there," Yudha said again.
"Uncle is old brother, their lives there are also mediocre. I don't want to be a burden to them later" he continued.
Bagas sighed then said, "that's why you brought you there, so you know how hard it is to live in the region let alone have to hitchhike with you."
Yudha's feelings grew increasingly violent, he imagined how he would be if far from Bagas.
"You just rest, brother wants to pack because early in the morning we have to be at the port."
Bagas gently rubbed his sister's head, had Yudha been able to fulfill his promise perhaps Bagas would not have taken his sister away from him. However, Bagas' affection is very big on his younger brother.
Before dawn prayers, the brothers were ready and Bagas ordered a taxi to take them.
The distance of their home and the port is quite far, it takes an hour to get there. They must arrive earlier than scheduled.
Bagas checks all corners of the house, making sure doors and windows are locked and safe to leave.
Before long, the taxi Bagas ordered arrived, both boarding and the car moved from the house to the port.
Along the way, Yudha remained silent only occasionally rubbing her face in frustration. While Bagas sat leaning while closing his eyes and pretending to sleep.
They had reached the port, Yudha got off the taxi while carrying a bag. Bagas paid the taxi fare and then went down following his sister with his clothes bag.
"Come, we'll go to the counter for registration" Bagas asked.
Yudha followed in her brother's footsteps, the young man remained silent a thousand languages like a mute man.
Whatever Bagas did, Yudha simply followed without saying a word. It hurts too much, when he has to be forced away from the life he lives.
The sirens of the ship have sounded, the sound of an announcement is heard from a hardener asking passengers to board immediately.
Yudha turned to the waiting room, hoping that Sofia would come to see him and ask to come along. However, it was only wishful thinking, due to the fact that he came out of the waiting room the figure he expected was never seen.
Yudha walked gontai in the footsteps of Bagas, both of whom climbed into the ship and searched for the room on the ticket.
"This is our room, come in" said Bagas glancing at his sister.
Yudha opened the door, looking at the bunk bed that was available inside. Then he put his bag into any place while Bagas stood behind him observing Yudha's behavior.
"For the next three days, we'll occupy this room until we reach Uncle Herman's town."
Bagas gave information about the length of the journey they would take, because the city they would come to was indeed across the island far from their city.
Yudha sighed, it would be very boring three days being inside the ship she thought.
"Sister, I'm hungry" he said suddenly, as neither had breakfast.
"All right, wait a minute. Brother order some food first," Bagas replied then turned his body and walked away from Yudha in the room.
Shortly after, Bagas appears while carrying a tray of food.
"Fried rice" murmured Yudha lirih
Bagas handed the tray to his sister, Yudha took it and put it on her lap.
"Eat," said Bagas.
"Sister didn't eat?" asked Yudha raised her face to look at Bagas.
"Later on, I'm still tired. When you're done, just put it there," point Bagas at the nightstand near the bed.
"Hm."
Yudha nodded, then ate the fried rice that was in front of her voraciously.
While enjoying the food, Yudha reached into her bag and took her cell phone from inside. Carefully he lit the flat object.
Ting.
Just now the phone is on, suddenly the incoming message goes off and the name Sofia is on the phone screen.
"Goodbye baby, good luck to the destination."
As Yudha's appetite disappeared, she glanced at Bagas who was lying on the bed closing his eyes.
The young man looked back at the screen of his phone, reading a second message that had not yet opened.
"As I promised, I will wait for you to come home whenever you return. Promise me to stay faithful and keep your heart for me."
Yudha's hand shook, the heart-wrenching message Sofia sent seemed to tear down her defenses.
If only the ship was still leaning on the dock, maybe Yudha would come down and cancel her trip.
Yudha typed a reply message, unfortunately the signal was not available so the message failed to be sent.
The young man squeezed his hair, then glanced again towards the bed. Bagas is still in his position sleeping on his back even very soundly.
It was like Yudha was shouting loudly venting her frustration. But, he was afraid that Bagas would wake up. Finally he could only hold back the anger in his heart.
The second day on the way, Yudha came out of the room and walked towards the economy passenger deck. There seemed to be a lot different from the rooms they occupied.
Yudha approached one of the passengers sitting, the young man tried to greet and ask the person next to him.
"Where are you, sir?"
"To town X," the passenger replied with a smile.
"Oh, our goals are the same," continued Yudha.
"Dad's from there?" ask The Passenger
"No, just visiting the uncle on duty there," Yudha replied with a faint smile.
The man looked at Yudha's face carefully, then he asked again.
"How many times has it been there?"
"New sir, it's my first time there."
The two also talked for a long time, even getting familiar and discussing many things until their conversation stopped when Bagas came to look for Yudha.
"You are here Jud, brother looking for you everywhere" said Bagas.
"Yes, brother. I'm bored in the room so play here and it turns out it's a lot more exciting here."
Yudha got new acquaintances and new experiences from the passengers she was invited to talk, after Bagas came to pick Yudha up bidding back to his room.
For a moment, Yudha forgot her grief. But, as soon as entering Sofia's shadow room comes back to haunt her.
