CHAPTER 40

Slowly Alex approached the spot where Keyla was still lying. Alex dared to touch Keyla's hand, but Keyla quickly pulled her hand and looked at Alex sharply which means he really did not want to be touched by Alex.

"Dear I'm sorry" Alex said hoarsely.

"A sorry word from you doesn't change anything" Keyla replied flatly. He tries not to look weak in front of Alex, because he believes he can even be with a man who can only hurt him.

"Don't torture me this way. Please give me a chance to be together."

The defense that Keyla made was destroyed, he could not hear Alex's plea. "What about the child I'm carrying, do you believe me if I say this is your child?" ask Keyla.

His eyes again stared intently at Alex who was standing beside him.

"I love you guys" Alex replied with confidence.

Alex's words had torn down the defensive wall that Keyla made, his heart was also beating so fast. Unknowingly touching her chest, the space of her heart was filled with warmth.

What she heard was so sincere, Keyla could not deny she was so happy to hear the confession of Alex that would make her and their future child happy.

Ana, who had been standing and watching their conversation, was moved to hear Alex's confession. One pearl had already escaped from his eye patch, but with a flash he wiped away the trace of his tears. He hopes Keyla can repay Alex's love. During this time Ana can only hear the chatter from Alex when she is under the influence of a drink, but this time Ana hears clearly when Alex is conscious. Hopefully Keyla can forgive Alex and give him a chance to correct all his mistakes.

"Do you believe this is your son?" keyla asked once again who wanted to hear Alex admit the boy was her son.

The answer from Alex will determine whether they will be back together or not, Alex who wants to admit that his son will make them together again. And vice versa, if Alex does not want to accept that his son means Keyla also does not want to accept Alex back.

"It's too late, go to sleep" said Alex, who did not want to continue their conversation, himself confused by Keyla's pregnancy. Alex was so convinced that she never touched Keyla until she became pregnant. How did Keyla get pregnant?

"True sister-in-law, now sister-in-law rest huh. Honestly, I'm so sleepy" said Ana, who was tired from standing up.

"You sleep first, I don't want to get an answer to my question yet."

Keyla is still waiting for Alex to answer about her pregnancy. He looked at the confused face of Alex about the child in his birth. It's not really Alex's fault, but it was his dishonest self from the start. But still Keyla wants to hear how Alex responds.

"I confused Key," Alex replied after a long silence. "Love me to you has no effect on the child in your womb. I promise you, I will accept you completely" Alex continued.

"That's not the answer."

Alex is confused by Keyla, isn't that enough? Actually the answer is what else to give him.

"Well, you can't argue. I want to take a nap" Ana comments a little annoyed with the couple who are unceasingly arguing.

Not silence. Keyla said, "I don't care. A lot of questions Alex has to answer, so I don't want to know if you're upset or not."

Alex looked at Keyla's face from the side. "You've been very close to Nicholas" thought Alex.

No way! His wife could not have done that, all this time she also knew Nicholas. Among his friendship with Nicholas, Alex never once heard Nicholas do such a thing.

Alex is completely confused, Keyla's question is like trapping himself.

"Why?" Keyla asked again because Alex did not answer the question either.

"Have we ever done that?" ask Alex to make sure.

"Oh yeah, when? Why can't I remember the sweetest thing in my life?" Alex tried to tempt Keyla not to keep asking questions.

"Dear, I promise I won't hurt you again."

Alex walks to pick up the knife on the nightstand near Keyla's bed.

"What's that for?"

"Take this Key, cut off my hand that slapped you. If you need to be able to slash my entire body, I want to feel how painful you have been all this time."

"Alex don't be crazy, Ana is good," call Keyla.

"Well," cried Alex in pain, he hurt his own hand.

"Sister Alex," cried Ana who saw the incident.

"Hurry up and call the sisters!" exclaim Keyla.

He wakes up quickly to snatch the knife that is still in Alex's hands.

Not long after, several nurses entered the room. They walked quickly with P3K boxes.

"Please nurse," said Keyla who was crying worried about Alex's condition. Keyla looked at Alex's face, he didn't show any expression at all. Doesn't he feel pain?

"It has to be stitched, the wound is quite deep" said the nurse who saw Alex's hand.

Keyla stared in disbelief, how could Alex hurt herself? There is no more pain. Alex really hurt himself just, Keyla felt guilty for what Alex did. If only he had not continued their debate, perhaps it would not have happened. Alex just ran out of ways to apologize, until he could hurt himself.

Just like Ana, she also does not believe in Alex who dares to do such a stupid thing. The stupid thing Ana had seen, and with how dare Alex hurt herself because of Keyla who was afraid of being hurt again by Alex. The way Alex took instead of gaining trust, but even made Keyla more afraid of him.
