Born to Disappear

Born to Disappear
Chapter 48

Chen Qinyang gasped, she leaned against the cold cave wall and closed her eyes.

Not expected even though it looks calm, but this river has a strong undercurrent. Chen Qinyang had to fight for half an hour before he was finally able to ascend ashore, albeit with a humiliating appearance. Her clothes were soaked and black hair was stuck to her cheeks.

Although the physique of a cultivator was stronger than mortal humans, somehow the water of this river made him shiver.

Between his teeth, he performed a simple spell to dry his clothes and tidy himself up.

"Sister Chen!"

Chen Qinyang's two closed eyes instantly opened when she heard a familiar voice calling out to her.

"Sister Chen!"

The familiar voice called back. With fatigue still hanging on his face, Chen Qinyang tried to stand up.

A chill crept from his palm resting against the rough wall he ignored.

"Brother Liu!" Chen Qinyang enthusiastically. 'Liu Xing Sheng must have fallen into this cave too!' thought. Chen Qinyang was very familiar with the voice of the male protagonist he was after, so there was no way he would have mistakenly recognized with those two calls.

'Liu Xing Sheng is the protagonist! There would be rare treasures on any path he traveled. And I as the female protagonist it's time to perform!'

Chen Qinyang could not help but cheer. After a dozen years of being airborne around the protagonist, he will now soar. Exploring secret realms together, sweeping up precious treasures together and cultivating feelings.

Chen Qinyang felt her cheeks were extremely hot and overwhelming excitement filled her heart. Completely forgetting that even Liu Xing Sheng had fallen into this cave, it was unlikely that Liu Xing Sheng would have appropriately called out his name while the two did not meet.

On the other side of the secret realm, a young man wanders down a dark, damp cave. In his hand was a night pearl that broke the dark with dim light.

Echoes of steps break the silence. So light, so thrilling.

The more he enters, not the moisture that greets, but the warm that embraces.

In the distance was a speck of golden light, Liu Xing Sheng felt something extraordinary was waiting for him in the distance.

He walked faster, echoing rhythmically as steps were taken. His heart couldn't help but beat faster, anticipating the shock that might be waiting for him.

Just three steps away, Liu Xing Sheng knew where the golden light was coming from. It was four torches mounted on either side of the wall. The resulting fire is not red, but gold that carries pure energy.

Suddenly the cave shook. Small stones fell from the ceiling of the cave. The carved stone doors of clouds opened on both sides, revealing a dark room. One after another the torches in the room lit up by themselves, revealing an empty room with golden-coloured circular dragon pillars.

Liu Xing Sheng pulled out his sword and took a step closer. Although instinct says there is no danger, but caution is still needed.

BAMM!

The loud thumping sound accompanied by a light tremor was felt shortly after his two feet entered the room. The newly opened stone door was now closed again, as if it was fused with the wall. Liu Xing Sheng grew even more vigilant, his body stiffened slightly and the grip on his sword tightened even more.

Looking around, there was only him in this vast space. Liu Xing Sheng took another step back, the four large pillars with circular dragon statues caught his attention. It looked majestic with golden-coloured scales, as if looking at it with a pair of proud golden eyes.

These statues not only look amazing, but also look alive. It was as if those golden eyes were always following his figure.

Ignoring the golden dragon statue, Liu Xing Sheng stepped back. Tidal vigilance descended, especially when he felt the intense gaze of his back. He turned around quickly, only to find a void.

With his eyebrows linked, he turned his head back. His heart skipped a beat, cold sweat soaked his back while both legs seemed to be fixated.

With the corner of his eyes he watched the dragon statue that was supposed to circle the pillar now stick out its body. The golden scales looked even more dazzling as the movements were supple.

A warm wind blew over the side of his face. Liu Xing Sheng turned his gaze forward. The dragon statue that was circular on another pillar now stuck out its head, looking at it with golden eyes.

...****************...

Chen Qinyang followed the direction of the voice that called out to him. The hallway he entered felt cold and damp. He rubbed his right arm with his left palm several times to reduce the cold, while his right palm carried a night pearl.

"Sister Chen!"

Liu Xing Sheng's voice calling out to him grew louder.

Chen Qinyang approached, the voice was like muffled. It was as if someone else was talking from behind the cave wall.

Going further is a dead end. Chen Qinyang raised a hand, palpating the smooth wall that it shouldn't.

He shifted his palm from side to side, a pattern measured in the corner. Approaching the night pearl, Chen Qinyang found an intricate carving that looked like an array.

Looking from one side to the other, down an uneven surface. He found this array a little familiar. He's brain-twisting, digging up buried memories.

"Sister Chen, help me!"

Liu Xing Sheng's voice sounded like a groan, as if the one speaking was in trouble and only he was able to help.

'Where have I seen this array?' He thought harder. 'Isn't this the ancient array in the book?' Chen Qinyang could not be happier than this, he remembered where he had seen her.

It was described in the kono book that he found in the library. The record of it was incomplete and there was only a method to open the array, so he immediately ignored the book.

However, who would have thought that the book he had seen at a glance would lead him to become the savior of the protagonist!

With great heart and extreme excitement, Chen Qinyang pierced his fingertips and dripped blood in the eyes of the formation. Then rotate the engraving slowly, adjusting to the method he had read.

After a light 'click' sound, Chen Qinyang heaved a sigh of relief. He took one step back when a rumbling sound opened.

Little by little cracks formed, the bone-chilling coldness felt increasingly stronger. Black fog seeped from the crack, but Chen Qinyang was too caught off guard to notice it.
