Hualing and Yuan Qing arrived just before the tomb was opened. The two stood on high branches, standing side by side. Looking over the thousands of cultivators who were full of anticipation, gathered trying to gather opportunities that might not be obtained from elsewhere. Among the thousands of cultivators, most were disciples from large sects and the rest were wandering cultivators without sects.
In front of it was an elongated high cliff, surrounding the Hua city area with a natural fortress. Vibration again felt, cracks formed on the stone wall. From the base rises to half the height of the cliff, forming a giant door on the stone wall.
The tremors were again felt, this time stronger than the last one. The cracks spread out like spider webs, then collapsed one after another into large holes, forming a real entrance on the cliff wall.
"Go now!" Yuan Qing said then slid down, immediately entering the door formed when others were still fixated. Hualing followed not far behind, and the two disappeared as if swallowed up by a cliff wall.
For a moment, Hualing felt panicked. He really did not expect to fall from a height upon entering this secret realm. Hualing immediately mobilized spiritual energy, reducing the speed of the fall.
A huge lake filled his vision, bluish water seemed to sparkle under the sunlight. It looks like a crystal grain that is stretched out. A huge spark was created as his body fell, crashing into the calm lake water. Form large ripples that widen to the edges.
Cold embraces the body, not freezing but rather providing a sense of comfort.
Hualing immediately swam up. Even though he was an early cultivator of the soul odyssey, it didn't mean that he didn't need to breathe.
Hualing was stunned when he reached the surface.
A chest of fields existed right before his eyes. Hualing slightly looked up, neckline and bones a step in sight. Raising his gaze was the face he met every day in front of him. Instantly Hualing felt his face heating up, for a moment his brain was empty. Unable to think of anything, and only after his brain was able to return to work did Hualing quickly close his eyes with both palms. "Ah Qing, I'm sorry!" the thrill while moving away from the pool which turned out to be a bath.
"Aah!" He panicked too much, moved in a hurry and ended up slipping. His knee hit the edge of the rock. "Damn!" Hualing hissing annoyed.
"Ah Qing, I'm really sorry!" Hualing again apologized with his eyes tightly closed, not seeing the figure behind him had stood up. Walking towards the edge then grabbed the white robe, wearing it carelessly.
Hualing was so embarrassed, especially when the edge of the cloth swept over his shoulder. He really wanted to dig a hole and bury himself.
Not getting the slightest response, Hualing slightly lowered his fingers. Looking around with narrowed eyes only to find emptiness, it seemed that Yuan Qing had come out. He heaved a sigh of relief, then moved out of the bath. Only to find his clothes dry even though he had gone into the water.
Hualing frowned, "is this an illusion? Or is my ability open?" he spoke to himself. Reluctant to think further about the uncertain thing, Hualing walked out and found a bedroom with familiar furniture.
The Yuan Qing he had just seen was now lying on the bed. Hualing walked over, looking at the figure that closed his eyes.
"Your majesty." He called lirih. The person he had just met was not Yuan Qing, but rather the war god Xue Yuan Qing. The man lay with his eyes tightly closed and his forehead wrinkled, looking agitated.
Hualing cupped his sturdy fingers tightly grasping the bed, he grasped it gently. The skin under his palm felt cold, colder than the grasp he remembered.
A black fog billowed out, dancing around Xue Yuan Qing then split apart when the two eyes of the phoenix god opened. The grasp of the two hands slipped off, Xue Yuan Qing woke up resting on one hand and then got out of bed. Walking towards the study table, he took something from there.
It was a small jade bell, connected with a tosca-colored tassel.
"That bell, why have I never seen it?" Hualing returned to monologue and then walked closer, about to see more clearly the object in the grasp of the god.
Hualing felt the bell was very pretty, made of white jade connected with tosca-colored tassels. He could not resist the urge to bring his finger closer, touching the object that the god kept watching.
"Aah!" Hualing screeched softly, quickly pulling back his finger. There was a shock sensation when his finger came into contact with that jade bell. And as if having no sense of deterrence, Hualing again reached out a finger. This time the shock sensation was no longer felt but all of a sudden turned black.
That event, Hualing remembered correctly if he should have been standing behind the man. Followed him after passing through heavenly tribulation. But why in this event did he not see himself standing there?
"Congratulations to the war god Xue has managed to create a heavenly artifact" the sentence was uttered simultaneously. Hualing turned his head, looking at the gathered gods.
He could also remember this event, but what heavenly artifact had the god created?
"How would the god of war call this artifact?" the sky emperor who was standing at the vanguard asked.
"Fate-breaking bells. Made from white jade, dragon horns and four nature cores. It was forged with phoenix flames and perfected by ninety-nine purple heavenly lightning."
For some reason when he heard that sentence, Hualing felt a sense of pride of his own.
Time moves back, events change. Hualing saw his master enter the war god palace with open wounds in several places. Once the purple clothes were undone, there were more wounds there.
Hualing also remembered this event. His master had just returned from the border, tasked with dispelling the demon army that was trying to invade. At that moment he who had been waiting for the arrival of the god in the doorway was so shocked. But now, he did not see himself in the past standing in wait for the arrival of the god.
Hualing frowned, how did this event differ in his memory?
He turned around with full thought, following Xue Yuan Qing into the inner room. From the threshold of the barrier, he saw his master tightly grasping an object. The tosca tassels hang down, swinging gently as the wind blows from the open window.
In his memory, what was in the grasp of the war god was his hand and not another.
"What's wrong?"Hualing asked himself. "Why is it so different?" Hualing retreated one step, watching the war god's wounds slowly recover at a speed that could be seen with the naked eye.
He shook his head in disbelief. What's wrong with his memory? What's wrong with this incident? Could it be that he had not seen the past but rather opened up a different space of time?
Hualing gripped her hair tightly, a piercing pain suddenly felt in her head. He felt his world spinning, and coldly hugged his body. Hualing opened his eyes, dimly meeting the view.
He was still in the lake where he fell.
"Ohuk!" Hualing coughed, his chest hurt. He choked on water.
The light looks so far away.
Hualing tried to move his heavy legs, as much as possible to paddle to the surface. Something that felt cold snared his ankle, pulling him further and further to the bottom.
He lowered his head, a pair of red eyes looking at him from the depths. Then turning her back on something on her ankle, it looked like an enormous squid tentacle.
"Emph!" Hualing flinched, the thing pulled him further and further inside. He was trying to mobilize spiritual energy, only to feel emptiness.
Damnit damnit! Don't tell me this thing is a water ghost!
He cursed repeatedly. A water ghost is a demonic beast that lives in the water, shaped like a giant octopus with squid-like tentacles. The mucus he expelled could block the rate of a cultivator's spiritual energy.
