Bloody Weekend

Bloody Weekend
Chapter 33

”Why Papa shot?”

”It was an accident, Honey. Mamma... Mama can't

talk about it.”

”It wasn't an accident. Why is Mama saying something that is not true? Papa killed people. As it is written in the letter

news.”

”Rudy, how did you get su ⁇ rat

the news? I told Miss Robert.”.

Rudy simply nodded his head repeatedly strangely.

”I went out and bought it. I know there must be

something in that newspaper that you didn't want to tell us. I wonder why Miss Robert sounded it.”

There's no point in hiding the truth from Rudy. His great curiosity.

”Why was Papa killed, Mama?”

Natasha's defense was destroyed. It becomes

hysterically.

”Don't ask me that! Don't talk about it. I can't talk about that.”

”But the police will find him, won't they?

I mean, they have to investigate. That

editing.”

It makes sense, until Natasha does

they want to scream, laugh, and cry. Thought, ”He didn't care. There's no way he cares. He just wants to keep wondering. Yes, she doesn't even cry.”

Then Rudy left, avoiding Aunt Alice. His face was thin and stiff. He always felt alone.

But before this, it was okay.

It's another situation now, he thought. If only someone could answer the question sensibly and in a clever way.

Nora Robert knocked on the bedroom door, then

go in. He looked pale, but calm and efficient.

”Inspector Larkspur is coming,” he said.

Natasha was shocked and

looking at him with a heartbreaking look. Nora quickly said again, ”Say she doesn't want to trouble you. He just wanted to say something to you, before he left. But he said it was just a question of routine questioning, about Dr.'s practice. Hamilton, and

I can tell you everything she wants to know.”

”Oh, thank you, Nora.”

Nora quickly came out. Natasha sighed and said, ” Robert is really efficient.”

”Indeed,” says Mrs. Ricardo. ”I'm sure she's an amazing secretary. But his face is ordinary, huh? But I think it's better.

Especially with a guy as handsome as Peter.”

Natasha said angrily, ”What do you mean, Alice? Peter would never have.he never did. You would have talked as if Peter would have cheated on him had he had a beautiful secretary. Peter is not at all.”

”Of course not, Honey,” said Mrs. Ricardo.

”But, we know, right, how men!”

Inside the check room, Inspector Larkspur faced Nora Robert who was staring at him with a cold and unfriendly look.

The panyangan was really not friendly. He saw. Well, maybe that's natural.

”A not-so-beautiful girl,” she thought. ”I don't think there is

nothing between him and the late doctor. But maybe he loved the doctor. It's like the situation.”

But, when he leaned back in his chair half an hour later, Inspector Larkspur

he concluded that this time it was not so. The answer Nora Robert gave her was very difficult. He could answer smoothly, and he seemed to understand very well everything related to the doctor's practice, down to a matter as small as it was.

Larkspur then diverted direction

his question, and subtly began to pry information about the relationship between Peter Hamilton and his wife Natasha Hamilton.

Nora said, their relationship is very good.

”I think once they fight too

”I don't remember any quarrels as you mean. Mistress Hamilton is so devoted to her husband as to adore someone.”

There was a faint scornful tone within

his voice. Inspector Larkspur heard it.

But he said, ”Did he never fight back at all to defend his rights?”

”No. Everything revolves around Dr Hamilton.”

”Semena mena too, yes?”

Nora thought for a moment.

”Not really, I can't say that. But he

you can call him a very selfish man. It is normal that Mrs Hamilton always receives all her opinions.”

”Is there a problem with the patient's patient ? I mean, which woman?”

”Oh, about it!” norabernada's voice mocked. ”Dr

Hamilton was equally good at handling such matters. She's very kind to all her patients.” Added again, ”He really is a great doctor.”

There was an incredible tone of admiration in his voice.

”Is she involved in a dark relationship

a woman?” ask Larkspur.

”Don't cover up secrets for loyalty, Miss Robert. This is very important for us to know.”

”Yes, I understand that. But as far as I know, there is no.”

The answer is a bit too short, Larkspur thought. He doesn't know, but he probably guessed.

”How about Miss West?” ask Inspector Larkspur sharply.

Nora pursed her lips tightly.

”She's a close friend of this family.”

”Is there no... trouble with Mrs Hamilton, because of her?”

”Samely no.”

The answer is given with pressure.

The inspector turned the question over again.

”How about Miss Karen Clark?”

”Karen Clark?”

There was a surprised tone in his voice.

”He's Dr Hamilton's friend, isn't he?”

”Entahlah. I don't know. I never heard of him. But, it feels like I know that name..”.

”She's a model.”

”Oh, yes! I wondered why it felt like I knew that name. But I didn't know that Dr. Hamilton knew him.”

He seemed very confident about it, to make inspector Larkspur immediately leave the matter. He continued his question about Dr Hamilton's attitude on Saturday.

This is where Nora's confidence in giving answers is somewhat shaky.

He said slowly, ”The attitude is quite different than usual.”

”What's the difference?”

He looks a little dazed. There is a time lapse

it was a while before he pressed the bell to call the last patient. He was always in a hurry when he was leaving. I reckon...

yes, I'm sure there's something he's thinking.”

But he couldn't be more certain. Inspector Larkspur was not very satisfied with the results of his investigation. He did not succeed in getting the desired motive. Though the motive must be obtained before a case can be filed with the prosecutor.

She had her own conviction that Natasha Hamilton had shot her husband. According to her pain, it is the feeling of jealousy that is the motive. But, so far he could not find anything as evidence.

Sergeant Wood has questioned the servants,

but they all tell me the same thing. Mrs Hamilton adored her husband.

Whatever happened, he thought, must have happened at The

Blosom. And when his memory returned to The Blossom he felt somewhat uneasy. The people who were there were all strange.
