29. Mommy's sick

Max clasped Alina's hand as soon as he got out of the car, jitters printed clearly on the girl's pretty face. Max is very understanding.

" Take it easy, baby, there's nothing to worry about" Max tried to provide support.

They're in front of Max's parents' mansion. Moments ago Max got a call from Adrian asking him to come home because his mommy was sick.

Max does not force Alina to come if the girl feels not ready but Alina insists. Alina has met Max's family before. Still the worry came to Alina's heart, maybe this time because their status has changed, not just colleagues but lovers.

" Welcome, sir, "what a man in a black and white suit opened the door of the house.

" Thank you Tyas, where are papi and mommy?"

" There's in the master's room, dr.Edhy is examining the state of the madam," the middle-aged woman replied with a polite smile. Tyas glanced at Max's side, maybe in his heart he asked about the girl who was with the handsome man.

Over the past few years, only this time has Tyas seen Max return to the mansion, secretly admiring Max's choices. The girl was beautiful and also friendly, visible from the smile that could not be separated from her lips exuded an alluring sincerity.

" I went straight up, then" said Max disperse Tyas observation, the woman nods to please.

Entering the room on the first floor, Alina increasingly tightened their grip indicating her nervousness was already at the peak level. Max slightly squeezed Alina's hand signifying her support.

Orion and Adrian were also there, they were standing some distance away from the bed. Near the sofa waiting for dr. Edhie finished checking.

Realizing that someone was coming, the attention of the two men who were talking slowly was diverted.

There was a shock on Orion's face seeing Max enter with Alina and what made him even more anxious were their two fingers intertwined.

Alina nodded her head greeting the two. Orion replies with a thin smile in contrast to Adrian featuring a row of white teeth.

" It looks like you've lost, my boss won this battle" whispered Adrian heating up, hearing that Orion tightened his jaws, he was ignited by the flames of jealousy but tried to act calm as if not provoked by the confrontation that was thrown Adrian.

Orion felt sad just a few days he was touring out of town, the situation has changed. She shouldn't have ignored one fact that Alina loves Max too. But she already liked the girl despite being aware of the consequences as she now accepts.

" How's mommy doing with me Edhie," said Max.

" Thank God Max you came, mommy just kept asking for your whereabouts, son, " said Hardi with a relieved smile. Max relinquished his grasp on Alina and approached her papa then hugged the middle-aged man for a glance. Alina went to Hardi.

" Aunty Widya is just exhausted Max, I've prescribed medicine and vitamins for her" explained the bespectacled man who wore a doctor's distinctive white coat while stuffing his medical equipment into a black bag.

" Is she doing okay, Edhie?" Max looked pityfully at Widyawati who was still closing her eyes. The face of the woman he loved looked pale.

" There's nothing to worry about, it's just that you have to force him to stop working, he's not young anymore" Edhie said.

" Hey who said I was old, uhuk-uhuk," Widyawati protested opening her eyes.

Edhie cengengesan, "I'm sorry aunt, I didn't say that, just that aunty needs a little me time lah, the term children today," he reasoned.

Edhie is a family doctor at Mulia Jaya Group, and he is also Max's best friend, naturally they are familiar as they are now.

Widyawati rolled her eyes, "That's how young you are, you think I don't hear,"

Widyawati's furious rout turned into a smile when she saw Max did not come alone. The woman tried to wake up from sleep, Hardi immediately helped the wife by putting a pillow behind Widyawati's back.

Adrian cleared his throat "So someone called you dear, it looks like we missed the news,"

he glanced deliberately at Orion who had been silent.

" What news? about Max being normal?" timpal Edhie while pointing fingers formed a quotation mark signal.

Max immediately snapped Edhie's head "Fuck, you think I'm gay,"

Edhie laughed, of course he was not serious about what he said.

" Congratulations then, I wait for the good news. I have to rush back to the hospital, don't forget to take the medicine and vitamins" the man said, handing Max a piece of paper.

" Thank you bro,"

Edhie nodded then patted Max on the shoulder. They are like two old friends.

"You're very smart to choose, hopefully this time it doesn't disappoint" whispered Edhie. Max responded with a smile.

" I'll take you to the front" Orion took the opportunity to escape from there as Edhie said goodbye. He did not want to see the new couple's affection any longer. For the first time the thirty-year-old man felt hurt. Maybe this is called karma, all this time he has always made many girls hurt because of his rejection and now Alina has indirectly rejected it by becoming Max's lover.

Adrian also took part because he wanted to make up for the prescription drugs he took from Max's hands.

" Mom, why is this?" Max sat on the bed while Alina chose to sit on the sofa, giving the mother and child space to talk to each other.

" You know how stubborn your mommy is, it's been said not to go to the office, just stay ngeyel," complained Hardi

" How can I let you alone baby, you also need to rest, right?"

widyawati is not to blame.

Max was wracked with guilt, because he was his parents to have to work extra like this.

" Next week I will return to Mulia Jaya," Max broke up later, not because he had become Alina's only lover, a few days ago he had spoken to Mr. Leo about his decision. Fortunately the man did not bother because their agreement was only temporary.

Max followed mommy's point of view, "Not yet, but I'll talk about it later, he'll understand mom,"

Widyawati breathed a sigh of relief "Mommy hope you are happy with Alina,"

"If it can be hastened, why not just get married, papi think you are ready," Hardi gave an idea.

Max and Widyawati looked at the middle-aged man at the same time. Hardi nodded making sure his words were serious.

" If you agree, mommy is also blessed. What are you waiting for, son, introduce us to Alina's family, "

Max is happy, his family is very supportive now lives how he convinces Alina. Max does not know for sure if Alina will agree considering that the girl still holds Bryan's memories in her heart.

On the other hand he also still has an unfinished appointment, helping Alina to uncover Bryan's case. Although Alina herself had not asked but she had to get certainty soon, so that after marriage there will be no more burden that lingers in Alina's mind and they can focus on arranging their future without the shadow of the past.
