MARRIE STROLLS WITH OSCAR

A warm smile that from morning had painted Marrie's face. It slowly disappeared, changing with the sadness he felt when he saw his parents fighting. Marrie was still struck by Julien's slap on Beatrice's left cheek. The slap was quite painful physically and mentally of course.

Sometimes Marrie had to dry her eyes that kept shedding tears, when she recalled the incident. The quarrel was triggered by the desire of Marrie who wanted to go with Oscar. But it became a great quarrel involving many parties in his extended family.

So deep was Marrie rethinking the plight of events. The phone call from Oscar was just missed by him. Though Marrie's phone is next to his body sitting on a mattress. Just called the second phone, Marrie realized there was an incoming phone call on the phone.

Again trying to dry the tears that kept falling soaked his face. Before finally, Marrie picked up a phone call from the Oscar.

"Hallo Marrie." A greeting from Oscar.

"Hallo Oscar." Marrie replied in a sad tone.

Heard Marrie's voice sounding like someone who had cried. Oscar was immediately panicked. He immediately said if Marrie was okay. Or something bad has happened to him.

But Marrie didn't tell him everything on the phone. Marrie wants to tell Oscar the story as they travel around the city of Nice in a new car from Oscar.

Oscar is at the gate of Marrie's house. She waited for Marrie to get out of the house. Marrie who is ready to leave, does not have to make Oscar wait long. He's ready to go with Oscar today.

"What's up Marrie. I thought you were different today?" Ask Oscar so gently.

"Why not, I'm now your best friend. So I should have been there when you were as bad as today." Oscar answered so wisely.

"Wait.... You mean, now your father has two wives. So that young lady in your house is your father's second wife?" Ask Oscar so curious.

"More or less like that." Marrie answered so briefly.

Oscar spoke in his heart. Of course this is important information that Oscar must convey to Thomas. Given Julien's having two wives which in French culture was strictly prohibited. "Wouldn't you have ice cream?" Ask Oscar to tease Marrie.

"less anyway... Because it's just one doang." Replied Marrie no less tempting.

"Don't eat a lot of ice cream. Your teeth will hurt." Advice Oscar.

"You think I'm a little kid, after eating ice cream, it's a toothache. I often know eating ice cream. But never a toothache." Marrie was so sure.

"Maybe not yet. Later if more often, you will have a toothache." Tempta Oscar is back.

Then immediately replied by Marrie with a fist.

"But from just that ice, we can learn the meaning of life." Oscar said convincingly.

"meaning?" Marrie looked at Oscar's face.

"Yes, I think ice cream is just like life. When we leave the ice cream at room temperature. Then the ice cream will just melt away. But when we put it in the refrigerator, the ice cream will remain frozen and delicious to eat. It's just like life. We may always think we feel useless. Even though we are in the wrong place, where no one can appreciate the slightest effort. Until we feel ourselves as failures. In fact, we fail to choose a place to stand." Oscar is so detailed.
