ALINEA LOVE

ALINEA LOVE
36

A man dressed in light blue koko, with a black sheath was running small towards the terrace of the mosque. His smile broadened when the santri greeted him, even occasionally he patted the shoulders of some santri to return their greetings.

"Itsr...,"

Sora's heart beat faster when he mentioned the man's name, although the man was now invisible because he was in the male shaf line and blocked the white curtain barrier.

Allaahu Akbar, Allaahu Akbar Asyhadu allaa illaaha

Iqamah's voice restored Sora's concentration. He continued to wear his delayed face and prepared to perform the prayer. He took a breath and prepared to face the owner of his life.

Four raka'at prayers after he performed, dhikr and do'a did not forget he said at the end of his prostration. Not too many do'a that he asked for, because he knows God knows better for him.

One by one the congregation of the mosque had come out, Sora immediately took off his face, folded neatly and put it in a bag. He tidied up his hood and stared out the window waiting for Almeer to come out of the mosque. He could not wait to greet the man and tell him if he was also in Malang.

Sora had to wait a long time, until Almeer came out of the mosque by holding a kyai who had entered the age of twilight. The santri who were around the mosque immediately pulled over, stood up and looked down not to speak a word. They behave ta'dzim when Pak kyai and Almeer walk past them.

Sora's intention to approach Almeer was not up. He realized, this was not a place that he could casually meet, talk even just to greet him.

Now, in this place, Sora felt really small. This time he felt imperfect. Seeing Almeer here is so highly respected because of his religious knowledge, while she is just a woman who is too busy taking care of her worldly until late to improve herself and her religious knowledge.

Sora stood up and came out from inside the mosque. While walking out of the pesantren yard, he still continued to look at Almeer who patiently irrigated the old kyai back into his house.

After finding the man disappeared behind the door of the house, Sora continued her steps out the boarding gate and immediately returned to the residence oom and tantenya.

"Assalamu'alaikum.," Salam Sora when he entered the house.

"Wa'alaikumsalam..," said the occupant of the house.

"Eeh, Kinan's brother has come home from school." Sora approached the girl who was still in a red and white uniform was sitting on the middle room carpet.

"Yes, Brother Sora." Kinan kissed Sora's hand and went back to watching TV.

"Tante," Sora who was sitting on the carpet called out to Lala who was sitting on the sofa.

"Yes, Ra. Why?" ask Lala.

"Schedules of study at the next pesantren mosque when? if you want to take the list to whom?"

"Monday, Thursday and Friday. You want to go to school?"

Sora nodded, "Sora is still lacking in science, Auntie." Sora.

"Later with the help of Kinan naji, Aunty asked permission to the graduate who led her studies."

"Ready, Aunt. Thank you, yes." Sora hugged Lala's leg and leaned her head against Lala's lap.

"Lunch first, there. Aunt is ready."

"Sora change clothes first, Auntie. Same as you call Mama." Sora stood up and went to his room located on the second floor.

He took his cell phone and called his mother.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Ma." Sapa Sora when her phone call was already connected to her mother.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, darling. Until the house of Malang, did not immediately tell you mama, anyway? Mama put Mita in contact with me."

"Yes, Ma. Sora prayed dzuhur in the front mosque. Don't take hape."

"At the pesantren?" ask Dusk.

"Yes, Ma." Sora was silent for a moment, "Ma...,"

"Yes, Honey? Why?"

"Sora saw Almeer at the boarding school. Does papa know Almeer's in Malang?"

"You talked to Almeer?" Twilight asked.

"No, Ma. Sora just looked at it from a distance."

"Yes, you better keep your distance from Almeer, baby..."

"Ma.o...,"

"Yes?"

"Does Sora deserve Almeer?" ask Sora.

"Why suddenly ask like that?"

"Newly this time Sora saw Almeer in the pesantren neighborhood, Ma. And he was different from Almeer whom Sora had known all along. Here Almeer looks a lot different to Sora."

"You and Almeer are different, baby, but that doesn't mean you don't deserve each other. What is the point of marriage if both are equally great or equally deficient? if God had betrothed you, you would have filled each other."

"What's true like that, Ma. Sora really feels small at the moment."

"Learn to improve, baby. It's never too late to fix yourself."

Sora just nodded his head without answering.

"Don't be discouraged, dear. Remember, Almeer is currently trying to get papa's blessing. Do not lose your spirit because of this. Okay?"

"Yes, Ma. Thanks, Ma. It's Sora's spirit."

"Yes, Honey. Inget order mom yes, keep your distance with Almeer. Let Almeer concentrate on his Office business."

"Yes, Ma. Sora hang up the phone, Ma. Say hello to Papa too. Assalamu'alaikum...,"

"Wa'alaikumsalam,"

Sora disconnects his phone call and puts his phone on the nightstand.

Although he has received encouragement from his mother, but he has not been able to increase his confidence. At the moment he is like losing himself who is always confident in what he does and has. Is this perhaps the so-called enjoyment of the world that will never be brought to death?

The cold air of the city of Malang made Sora wake up late to perform dawn prayers. Luckily the sun had not peeked out from behind his complaint and he immediately cleaned himself up and then performed the dawn prayer.

The sounds from the kitchen caught Sora's attention. After making his face, he went down into the kitchen. There's Mita and Aura in the kitchen helping the tantenya cook.

"Eh, is tumben awake?" Lala was surprised by Sora's presence.

"Yes dong, Auntie. Masa' girls wake up in the afternoon." Sora replied, he sat on the dining table chair while looking at Aura who was chopping vegetables.

"What girl? you're grown up, it's time for marriage." Tempted Lala, her hands were busy slicing onions.

"Do'ain yes, Te...,"

"Yes, Auntie do'ain ponakan aunty can marry her grandson Kyai Abdullah."

"Kyai Abdullah who, auntie?" ask Sora.

"Well, yes, my brother is the one you often look to the boarding school for."

"That's how I am, Auntie." Sora Sahut.

"Aura, here! I'd like to try chopping up the vegetables." Sora asked.

"Don't, Miss."

"Udaaah, here. I also want to learn to cook." Sora snatched the knife and vegetable from Aura's hand.

Aura gave her talent in front of Sora, she prepared to cut a carrot there. "Ahead like this, Miss." Sora showed the results of the carrots he had cut.

"Yes yes, I know." Sora Speaks.

A piece, two pieces...

"Sorry, Miss. It's too thick" Aura said.

"Yes.., beware..," Sora was even more careful.

A piece, too thin. Two pieces, too thick. Three pieces, three pieces,

"Aarr!!" Screeched Sora.

"Miss!!" A sprightly aura took out a tissue and and closed the blade-sliced sora finger.

"Tuh, kaan... Wounded your hand, Ra." Lala went to get the medicine box.

"Douuuh, her blood is aunty..," Sora frowned fearfully at the sight of her blood seeping in the tissue wrapped in her wound.

"Let's wash the wound to clean." Lala took Sora to the sink and washed Sora's left index finger with running water.

Sora scratched his face, hiding behind Lala's back for fear of seeing her own blood.

"It has to be stitched, Ra." Lala.

"Huh!!" Sora was surprised.

"Bercandaaa..," Lala laughed.

Mita helps dry Sora's hands and fingers with tissue and then wrapped in plaster.

"Hmmmh, the royal princess once entered the kitchen makes a scene." Said Lala. he pinched Sora's cheek.

"Where if later Sora can not masakin Sora's husband, Aunt." Grumpy Sora.

"Then the time will be alone." Lala's back in the kitchen. "You mending get ready to make it to work, later if Aga pick up—"

"Wait-wait!" Sora slashed his tantic sentence, "Why should Aga pick me up?"

"Trus what do you want to go to work with?" ask Lala

"His motor, aunt." he looked at the car garage in front of the kitchen.

"Trus aunty if you take your adek shuttle how? after all, just go with Aga until your car comes."

Sora just stayed. He returned to his kmarnya and prepared to go to his mother's place of business.

The hour hand was pointing between the numbers seven and eight, the vehicle in front of Lala's house had gone back and forth to drive the riders to their respective destinations. Aga's car was parked right in front of Lala's house, the man who was now wearing a maroon shirt and black cloth pants got out of his car and approached Sora who had been waiting for him since on the porch of the house.

"Old, uh!" Sora Speaks.

"Be careful, Ga." Lala said from the door.

"Yes, Aunt." Answer Aga.

"Stop!!" Sora stopped Mita and Aura who were preparing to follow him.

"Why, Miss?" ask Mita and Aura.

"You're at home, don't follow me." Pinta Sora's.

"But we have to follow you everywhere, miss." Reject Mita.

Mita and Aura looked at each other, both of them disagreeing with Sora's opinion.

"What's wrong, you guys were here while I was in Malang. If I'm in Surabaya, you can follow him anywhere." Aga.

"Udah, at home yes mbak mbak beautiful." Sora delight. "Aante! Sora is leaving. Daagh Imo, beautiful sister is leaving." Sora waved his hand at his aunt and nephew.

"Why fingers?" Aga pulled Sora's left hand.

Sora tried to pull back his hand, but Aga held it too tightly. "Pass, Ga!"

"So Sora wanted to learn to cook, but that's what it was." Lala try to explain.

"Don't do what you can't, so be yourself enough." Aga said, typical with his cold face.

Sora forced his hand, "I'll have to learn to cook for my husband later!" Said Sora.

"Quiet, aja. I'll give you a professional housekeeper to help you cook at home." Aga said while opening the car door for Sora.

"That's a big pede? who would want to be your wife." While getting into the car, Sora looked cynically at Aga.

Aga closed the car door after making sure Sora was sitting well. She smiled at Lala before getting into the car. Then he drove his car to Lala's house.

"Take care of yourself, don't let any wounds on your body." Said Aga.

"Body of my body, why bother you. Take care of your own business." Sora said, "Get out the door slowly, Ga!" Pinta Sora's.

Aga did not answer, he slowed down the speed of his vehicle because there were police sleeping right at the exit of his housing. Instead of obeying Sora's will, Aga actually accelerated the speed of his vehicle when passing through the Al Mukmin boarding gate.

"Ga!!" Sora hit Aga's arm hard. "Nyebelin really, really! Look at people getting upset."

"If I slow down, you will see the pesantren and remember your love story. I don't want to get upset because you think of another guy." Answer Aga.

"Oh, my brain is just Almeer doang! Don't worry about you." Sora turned his face out the window.

Aga gave a small smile, "My pants will try to take over everything."

"Diem, Ga. Don't make me badmood."

Again, he went back to silence and focused on driving his vehicle.

It didn't take long for Aga and Sora to get to the Dusk business. Not much has changed from the last Sora there a few years ago. Visitors are still always crowded, although the store is still not open, but the queue has occurred in the store.

Sora enters the store with Aga through the employee's door. Several employees have stood up to welcome Sora. That made Sora so sad.

"Welcome to Oriana Advertising, Sora." Said Mia welcoming Sora.

The Dusk business place that originally used the names Sky and Sora, now changed to use the first name Mina because Sky does not want the name to appear everywhere. The guy is always busy with little things like that.

"Tante Mia, why make ginian anyway? sora's here just to help." Said Sora.

Mia smiled, "Tante is not sure if this girl here is gathering because she welcomes you, surely they are standing here to meet Sky if not this Aga." Mia smiled insinuating the female employees there.

"We welcome Sister Sora, Mom..." Someone's crooning Mia's jokes.

"Haduuh, you guys don't like Sky let alone him." Sora glanced at Aga, "They're banana trees, have a heart that doesn't exist."

"I have Sora's heart, you are insensitive."

"Wuuuuuuuuhhhhh..," Sahut employees heard Aga's words to Sora.

"Crazy, you!!" Sora cursed without a sound, he stared dejectedly at Aga. Not that he felt guilty, but the man smirked instead.

"Yep, up." Take Mia to Sora. "Come, get back to work. Look at the handsome guy already, won't be glimpsed by you." Mia told her employees.

All disbanded and returned to their respective positions.

"I'll go to the office first, Ra." Pamit Aga's.

"As much as you are!" Sora said unconcernedly and left Aga.

The man only smiled slightly looking at Sora's behavior. He leaves the store and Sora follows Mia to go up to her room.

In Mia's room, Sora gets a lot of explanations about how her work is. Today Sora really went on tour at her mother's workplace. Mia herself explained every detail of each position, the task even to the tools.

As usual, Sora's limited abilities make Mia have to repeatedly explain whatever Sora doesn't yet understand.

"If below is indeed for the place of design and customer consultation. To the right of this part of the customer who still want to make a design, to the left of it for customers who already have a file ready to print." Mia explained from the stairs.

"God willing!" Screeched Sora.

"Why, Sora?" ask Mia.

Sora sees an Almeer discussing with one of the employees at the computer desk who has a file ready for print. Sora hid behind Mia's back.

"Why the hell, Sora?" Mia is getting curious.

"Sst, aunt bentar."

Sora watched Almeer who was already standing and left his seat. After finding Almeer gone, Sora approached the officer who was serving Almeer just now.

"Sister, what did that guy do?" ask Sora.

"You print the brochure, Ma'am."

"Look at dong." Sora stared at the monitor screen in front of the man's employee. Researching one by one writing to meet Almeer's office address.

He took his phone and photographed the screen of Almeer's office address. "Thanks yes, Brother." Sora said then he went back to Mia's place.

"Like that guy?" Temptation Mia.

Sora smiled shyly, "Yuk ah, Auntie. More office tour."

Mia smiled, and she continued her explanation to Sora.

***

Sora came home from the office right before the adzan magrib, Aga did not stop by because one of the homeowners was not willing to accept a visit from him.

"Sora, after all, there's a lecture at the pesantren mosque, would you like to come?" ask Lala.

"Can you, auntie come?" ask Sora.

"This is for the Muslim women who are still girls, Ra. A month only twice. The speaker is also young, a graduate of Cairo. You must like."

"But shame, Aunt. Sora has no friends."

"Ih, not what. There will be friends there too. Aunty had told me to go to Umminya Kanaya if you want to study at the mosque."

"Who are you, auntie?" ask Sora.

"That's the talk of later studies, Ra."

"Oooh, okay okay, Auntie. For the sake of science, Sora is unashamed."

"Yes, take a shower. Prayer trus eat yes, aunt ready."

"OK, Aunt. Sora to the room first yes...,"

"Yes...,"

Sora went to his room, took a bath and performed the Maghrib prayer and continued to eat with Lala, Mita, Aura, Kinan and Imo.

After dinner, Sora prepared to go to Isya's prayer at the mosque as well as continue the study.

As usual, the atmosphere of the mosque is crowded when entering prayer time. Sora glanced at a house that was between the building of santri putra and daughter. Trying to figure out what the man she'd really like to meet is there.

"Assalamu'alaikum.., Ms Sora who is from Jakarta, yes?" asked a young woman in a pink hood, beautiful and sweet smile with a tooth.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, how do you know me?" ask Sora to the point.

"Soal mbak face I've never seen here, so must be mbak the person I meant ummi me."

"Kanaya?" ask Sora.

"Yes, Mother. Right, I'm Kanaya." He reached out to Sora.

Sora welcomes Kanaya's hand, "Sora." she said.

"Let's go in, Ma'am." Kanaya invited him into the mosque.

The two of them sat side by side inside the mosque, opening a small conversation before the iqomah was heard.

Kanya is two years younger than Sora, she has just completed her education at one of the leading Islamic universities in Cairo and only returned to Indonesia this past year. Now he is practicing his knowledge in Al Mukmin's school and is a speaker of Muslim youth studies.

Their conversation stopped during prayer. After the prayer Kanaya mangajak Sora went to the second floor of the mosque where the study will begin.

About twenty Muslim teenagers were sitting there, all listening to material from Kanaya. Sora was amazed by the way Kanaya spoke the word, especially when Kanaya chanted one of the verses from the Qur'an. MasyaAllah merdunya, Inner Sora.

The study was completed at about eight p.m. All came down except for Kanaya who was still discussing with one of the Muslim women. Sora came out of the mosque, he still glanced at the house of the owner of the boarding school hoping to see a glimpse of Almeer's face. But unfortunately, he still did not get another chance today.

He also rushed out of the mosque. His memory returned to the figure of Kanaya who conveyed his material without patronizing. Can he study religion with Kanaya? thought.

Sora stopped his steps right before entering the entrance of his housing. He returned to the pesantren, meeting Kanaya so that he could become his guide to better know his religion.

His steps suddenly came to a halt at the gate when he found Kanaya talking to a man he knew very well, Almeer.

Kanaya conversed with continuing to develop her wide smile even though she lowered her gaze, and Almeer also smiled kindly in response to Kanaya.

There was a strange feeling in Sora's mind. He was not happy to see their closeness, but he also felt unworthy if he wanted to be jealous. The woman in front of Almeer was more, more and better than him.
