Ai No Koe's

Chapter 1

Today is the first day of school. This morning Kaito was awakened by his smartphone alarm. With her lazy face Kaito takes a bath and wears her school uniform. In a neat uniform, Kaito takes instant noodles in his refrigerator and cooks them.

After breakfast Kaito left only the bowl and glass scattered on his dining table and rushed off to school. After coming out and locking the door of his house Kaito slowly walked on the road he used to pass.

Well, the school day has come when I feel like it was just yesterday that the class holidays started. I can only live this day according to my destiny. Someone patted my shoulder.

"For Kaiito"

"Hm ... Morning"

I was just trying to respond to Mina's greeting. Every day we go to school by walking together because our school is not so far away.

We both often thought of lovers. Because since Elementary School we always walk together towards school. And the two of us never left together with Raku. Because the house is far and opposite from the direction of our house. Raku always takes the fast train every morning. And get off at the station that's right across the street from our school. That's one of the reasons why Raku went to Asakura High School. Because Raku doesn't like to walk too far.

When the two of them got in front of the school gate, they deliberately stopped to wait for the usual Raku to come out of the station opposite the school. And sure enough, before long Raku walked up from the station and approached them with a lazy look that emanated from his glasses. The three of them entered the school building just in time .

The three of them entered the classroom 2A, according to the announcement of the class increase. As the three of them stood in front of the class Kaito said with an annoyed face.

"Kok his seat mate anyway .. I even want to be alone."

"You just found out? From the beginning it was like this and also your partner must be the opposite sex," said Raku.

"Hmm ... bodo I very much choose the front bench near the window!" Mina said then sat on her bench of choice.

" Where are you sitting Kaito?" Ask Raku.

"Hmm .. I'm in the back corner by the window as usual." Answer Kaito while stepping on his bench.

Like the year before Raku sat on the bench in front of Kaito. Shortly after that the school bell rang. Students begin to meet their own classes.

The boring day begins. As usual, I just sat there and looked out the window. As expected, the seat beside me was empty. Because I don't like sitting next to a girl I don't know. Soon there was an incoming teacher who seemed to be the homeroom of this class.

That's Mr. Kakegawa. The neat hair equipped with glasses on his face made him look dignified. After we saluted and sat back, Mr. Kakegawa said.

"Today there are new students present .. welcome to enter"

Because the classroom atmosphere suddenly became noisy, I who stared out the window was curious and saw who the new student was.

Suddenly I was glued to the girl standing in front of my class. It turned out that the girl was the same girl I met when I wanted to buy school supplies.

I finally understood why the girl wasn't talking to me at the time.

"Ai you sit next to Kaito in the back corner is yes ..," said Mr. Kakegawa as he pointed his finger at me.

The girl seemed surprised when she saw me. He walked slowly to the bench next to me. Unlike the other students, I just try to be indifferent and keep looking out the window.

The lesson begins as usual. Mr. Kakegawa is a teacher who teaches English. It just so happened that in yesterday's test I was the one who got the highest grade, even though I didn't study at all. As the lesson went on I just listened and my gaze was always on the clouds I saw through the classroom window right next to me.

I occasionally looked towards Ai who had not uttered a word from earlier. My heart grew curious as to why Ai would not speak even when asked. When taking notes arrived, I did not take notes at all and although Mr. Kakegawa saw me he did not scold me at all.

As my eyes were fixed on the clear blue sky, I heard the rustic sound of a pen friction from my right ear. When I turned to look at Ai, she rubbed her pen hard on her book, but it seemed like the pen ink had run out.

I grabbed her hand with my elbow and gave her the pen I was holding.

"Nih ... wear it"

Ai looked at me with slightly glassy eyes, then picked up the pen in my hand. I know how he feels, he panics because he's a new kid, plus he doesn't want to talk at all.

A few hours later, the lesson was over. We thank Mr. Kakegawa and prepare to wait for the break bell. I just kept quiet and looked at the clouds from my seat. The sound of paper tearing took my attention. It turned out that Ai ripped out the paper from her little notebook and wrote something down.

Then the paper was given to me. I read it too. "Thank you, I borrowed it?" he wrote. Then I looked back at him and said.

"Hmm .. yes".

As her cheeks began to give off a slight red hue, Ai turned her face away from me and took the novel out of her bag, then read it. When the break bell rang, other students began to die in class.

Ai also stepped out of the class. I don't care either. At rest I just put my bag on the table as my headboard to sleep. Raku and Mina have memorized my habit. They occasionally annoyed me while sleeping in class. Since it took a long break of approximately forty minutes, it was more than enough to slightly relieve my laziness.

I thought about going to the toilet and washing my face so I wouldn't look tired. While traveling in the hallway to the toilet, I passed Ai.  For some reason Ai patted me on the shoulder, I stopped my steps. I looked up and looked at her face that looked red. Ai just shook her head then ran towards the classroom. Then one of the group of girls who was in the hallway said .

" it seems the mute likes Kaito's sister."

I just continued my steps towards the toilet. My heart is a little uncomfortable hearing someone say that. I don't know why my heart feels pierced by fine thorns, although it doesn't hurt but still bothers.

The school day was ended by a bell that rang. Some students go straight home, some head to their club room. This year Kaito chose the literature club, before he did not join any club in first class.

Kaito stepped with his lazy face towards the second floor of Asakura High School used for the Club room. When Kaito opened the door of the literature club room, Kaito saw Ai who was standing facing out the window looking at the afternoon sky. The literature club room is like unkempt. The two large bookshelves flanking the large table in the middle of the room looked dusty.

When I heard the sound of the door closing, he looked surprised and immediately sat on the bench he had prepared next to the large table in the middle of the room. I don't know why he always acts weird when he sees me. I also took a bench located at the end of the room and I put my bag under the chair and sat opposite Ai. I also took a random novel from the bookshelf in the club room. And sit back to read it.
