Episode 71

My friends woke me up and Alex fell asleep really fast. We woke up, we saw on the phone already at 6 pm, it turns out want magrib so friends wake us up.

Irene and I decided to take a shower for a while, after which we all finished the afternoon shower. Tasya and Anggi prayed magrib, and we all sat in the living room waiting for Tasya and Anggi to finish praying.

I want to tell you a little bit about all of our beliefs. Me, Alex and Jonathan, we're Protestant Christians. Ruth and Irene are Catholic. Tasya and Anggi Muslims. We who are Christians never worship on Sunday in this village, because in this village there is no church because all the residents in this village are Muslim. So we Christians worship through our smartphones online.

Even so, the people in this village have a high tolerance for us. Like the village chief who knew that we were Christians, every time he wanted to say something he always started with a Muslim greeting "Assalamualaikum" and greeted us by saying "Shalom". We are very grateful to be welcomed in this village.

As we sat in the living room, we saw from the side of the highway a crowd of people heading to our house.

"Who is that??" my many.

Ruth, who was close to the door, opened the door.

"We-wewe were the students who were there." Answer Ruth.

They finally arrived at our doorstep.

"Who are you looking for, brother??" ask Ruth.

"You're looking for Alex, Alex is at home, aren't you??" ask one of the women.

Yeah right, Jane's Alex.

"Where the hell does he know our cost." I murmured in my heart.

Alex stood up.

"What's up Jane??" ask Alex.

"Now.." Said Ruth.

I immediately picked up the mat in our room and we all so sat down below. But the one that came was not only Jane and her friends, there was Jesica and her friends as well.

"Oh well, he knows, same Jesica anyway." My inner.

"Jes, why didn't you come here and tell me first??" ask Jonathan.

"Jane wants a reunion with Alex, he says he wants to have dinner with you I brought him here." Answer Jesica.

I just shut up and play with the phone, Alex keeps glancing at me.

"Lex, dinner with yok yok at the cafe near here I saw earlier in front of your car was long ago we did not eat both." Say Jane without burden.

"Jane I told you I have a boyfriend now, I can't eat with you. If we want to eat with you here we all eat together." Answer Alex.

"Oh, if that's the case, but there's no food, let's buy." Jane said as she held Alex's arm.

Alex takes Jane's hand off her arm.

"I'm the one who's looking for food." Answer Alex.

I looked at the woman's hand, wanting to break it.

"You didn't ask." Answer Alex.

"Yes, tell me cake." Jesica said back.

"That's my privacy should I share with you??" ask Alex.

"Now, no." Answer Jesica.

"Yes already." Answer Alex.

Tasya and Anggi had also gathered in the living room with us. Alex stood up to walk into our room, grabbing the car keys he had placed on the pillow. When Alex came out of the room, Alex walked up to me.

"The company I'm looking for food yuk." Alex said softly to me while patting me on the shoulder.

I nodded my head, Jane kept looking at me. Alex and I went to get food.

Inside the house, Jesica asked.

"Well, Jo, Alex and Joana, what's their relationship?? I see Joana's finger on Grandma's ring." Ask Jesica.

"They're dating." Answer Jonathan.

"Kok grandma's ring is the same Joana??" ask Jesica back.

"Grandfather gave it to Joana." Answer Jonathan.

Jane understands very hard to be able to get along with Grandpa Alex, when they were dating Jane did not manage to melt the heart of her grandfather Alex. Jane, Jesica, Jonathan understand that Joana's already wearing a grandmother's ring means she's been accepted by Alex's entire family.

Because the ring that Joana wears is not a ring carelessly, but a hereditary ring for the daughter-in-law in the family before marriage, if the ring has been given a great hope of the family for them to unite in marriage.

When Alex's mother was dating Alex's father, she also received the same treatment as Joana. That's why Alex keeps Joana feeling so much, the Ring is also an antidote to bad things because their families believe if lovers want to be together there will be many bad things that will tempt them.

The ring is a relic of their ancestors so it is no wonder the ring looks ancient and antique, but the ring is believed to have power by the Alex family.

When he found out that Jane's face turned into a jutek, not as bright as before. While waiting for food to come they chatted casually but not with Jane who became quiet instantly.

On the way, Alex and I were just talking about the food and choosing the food we bought. We buy heavy food in the form of noodles and snacks at wholesalers in the village.

Alex and I finally got home. Tasya, Anggi and Ruth I saw taking plates and preparing ice cubes for the drinks we had bought. We also serve food, drinks and snacks.

As soon as Alex and I sat down, Jane moved into the seat next to Alex. I tried to restrain myself from causing a commotion. Honestly, I'm a very irritable person but not for things that I think are too low to respond to.

Jesica and Jane's friends look at Jane and see their faces confused about what to do with Jane acting silly in front of Alex.

Jane opens the food for Alex, pours Alex a drink.

Because I was afraid of being provoked by emotions, I just looked down and ate and didn't want to see anything, but somehow the food I ate I couldn't swallow.
