3 Perfected Decades

3 Perfected Decades
Rania in the hospital

I was in Grandpa's nursery with Shogun's uncle and Sari's grandmother. The doctor had just told about Grandpa's condition which often forced his old body to work. I know that Grandpa likes to use himself to keep working in the fields.

My father finally came too after coming home from his daily service. Mother did not come because the Sultan was not feeling well, his body was hot. I told you all about Grandpa's situation. As a doctor, I know what kind of disease Grandpa has and how to treat it.

Time doesn't feel like it's night and Grandpa isn't conscious yet. I sat in a chair by the gurney. I looked at Grandpa's very old face. I saw Grandpa's eyelids move. As soon as Grandpa came to his senses, I immediately approached him and asked him if there was anything he wanted.

Grandpa opened his eyes and looked at me. He opened his mouth, but no sound came out. I also took water in a glass on the nightstand. I guided Grandpa to a drink. It seemed like Grandfather was very thirsty, as the water in the glass was instantly depleted.

When I put down the glass, it turned out that my father was standing next to me.

"Dad, do you feel good?" ask my father to the grandfather who is now back lying weakly on his bed.

Grandfather simply nodded his head in response. Then Grandpa's hands extended toward Dad, and rubbed his face. Maybe this is the first time I've seen Grandpa touch his son so affectionately. Because all my life, Grandpa was an arrogant old man who would not listen to his children, or ask for his son's opinion.

I saw him crying, in front of Grandpa. It's a rare thing in my life that I've never seen you cry like this. I don't know what happened between the two. Since then, no one has spoken between them. Just look at each other, all I see. Maybe only the two of them knew what they wanted to say.

At school, I used to play and joke with my friends. Doing silly things with my friends. Helping friends who are after the younger class, even though they were rejected as well. I also give tutoring to my classmates, after school. Because we want to graduate together.

Actually I did this, because I thought there would be some of my classmates who did not pass the national exam. Those who do not graduate, experiencing mental deterioration due to shame, eventually they choose to become anti-social people in the community.

After I finished giving tutoring to my classmates. I headed straight to the hospital where Grandpa was still being treated. The plan, today Grandpa will be brought home. Because his condition has improved. I'll take Grandpa home, so we can take care of him easily. At home there is a mother who can watch and take care of her every day.

Grandma Sari too, always come every day to the hospital, even though the ends will argue with grandfather. If Grandma Sari hasn't come yet Grandpa always asks her. Perhaps the fussiness of Grandma Sari is the form she cares for and cares for grandfather. So is stubborn Grandpa because he wants the best for his family, according to him.

However, the two brothers loved each other in their own way, but were not understood by both of them. Grandfather did something for the good of Sari's grandmother, but according to Sari's grandmother what he did was an authoritarian act against him.

Grandma Sari also always worried about Grandpa, once something happened to Grandpa, she would nag him, like a mother scolding her child. Not enough one or two times to talk, he will continue to talk until bored.

"King help you bring Grandpa's purse!" Grandpa's orders to me.

"Good, Dad!"

I also reached for Grandpa's bag, while Dad pushed the wheelchair that Grandpa had occupied. Shogun's uncle was heating his car, which had been parked in the hospital yard for two days.

As I walked down the corridor of the hospital, I saw someone I knew. The girl who was a few days ago was always on my mind.

"Rania?" Mumbles.

I saw Rania in the hospital, I don't know what she's doing here. Rania entered a hospital room opposite the courtyard of Melati's ward. I'd love to go to him, and find out what he's doing here. My eyes could not be separated from the room entered by Rania earlier.

"King, let's take the road!" I heard my father's voice calling, so I ran towards him.

The next day I went back to the hospital. Wondering what Rania was doing yesterday. I went into Melati's ward too.

Rania happened to be there. I approached him who was sitting on his back to the direction of my arrival.

" Rania," I said in a soft voice because I didn't want to bother the patient.

Rania was so shocked when she heard my greeting, she turned her body towards me who was standing behind her. I smiled when he saw me.

"King?!" He called me with his voice slow but full of emphasis.

"Who's sick?" I asked when I saw a middle-aged woman lying in a gurney.

"My mom" he answered briefly. There was a line of sadness on her beautiful face.

"What pain?" Ask me again while looking at the patient.

"TBC," Rania replied with a trembling voice clearly heard by me.

Currently, the drug for TB patients has not been produced too much. Only large hospitals can handle TB patients, especially if the patient's disease has long been suffered. A small chance of healing. Unlike when I was a doctor, at that time the cure for TB disease was widely produced. Patients should participate in a treatment program if they want to recover.

"What did the doctor say?" I asked while measuring the pulse in the patient's hand.

"Mom can recover if you get intensive care from a larger hospital. Because here the cure for maternal illness does not exist, must go to the central hospital. Moreover, the drug for mothers is very expensive.

"If you want, I'll ask you to get help from the hospital for medical expenses to subsidize the price of the medicine" I said, looking at Rania.

"REally?!" I saw Rania's face covered with hope, her eyes twinkling and her lips smiling widely, she was delighted.

"Yes, I'll ask you to do it."

I nodded my head as a sign confirming what I said just now. Rania smiled at me and held my hand. She held my hand tightly, and Rania continued to express her gratitude. His actions made my heart beat so fast.
