Chapter 27: I Don't Care About Rumors
Yun Jian went home to make lunch for Qin Yirou after a consensus was reached.
He will set up the business sooner or later, maybe also do it as soon as possible. After this, he needed another trip to Longmen City and had to stay there for a while to complete the task.
The next day, Tuesday morning, Yun Jian woke up early to run off early in the morning. He then put some books in his school bag and went to school.
He only took a day off, so he had to attend class today.
Just as he reached the classroom door, he saw Lu Feiyan waving at him from his seat.
Since this was not yet the time for a self-study session, Lu Feiyan left her seat to jump up to Yun Jian and asked, “Xiao Jian, why were you not present yesterday? Your teacher is sick. Are you okay now? Why don't you rest longer if you feel unwell?”
Lu Feiyan's worried tone shocked Yun Jian as he recalled that the reason for yesterday's homeroom was because he wasn't feeling well. He had not expected that it would make Lu Feiyan worry all day.
Sensing a burst of warmth, Yun Jian replied, "I'm fine."
“Your health is your most valuable asset. You should take better care of yourself!” Lu Feiyan clearly did not know what was happening within the Yun Jian family as he told Yun Jian excitedly.
“Mm.” Yun Jian nodded and entered the classroom with his friend.
As soon as he did, the noisy classroom suddenly became quiet.
"Look! This Yun Jian returned. I don't think he would dare go back to school again. He brought the principal's daughter to the hospital last Friday! One of Lin Mengyu's ribs even broke!” A mischievous child in the classroom speaks as if he is a witness to the case.
A classmate immediately encouraged him.
"Yun Jian might have been destroyed!"
“It was his own fault. Who can he blame?”
...
No one knew about the incident on Friday but as time went on, rumors spread when someone received the news.
They did not even care not to be heard by Yun Jian.
Yun Jian did not mind listening to them. Lu Feiyan was even angry.
“Xiao Jian, don't be angry. They have a loose mouth and only know to spit out nonsense! ” Lu Feiyan comforted Yun Jian before stepping on the gossip group and speaking even louder. “Stop saying nonsense! Lin Mengyu who bullied Xiao Jian first! I can be a witness!”
“Hah! The witness? Wh-wh-what for? Is there any point? Precious daughter of principal Lin Mengyu!” A mischievous boy who crossed his legs high up on the chair looked at Lu Feiyan, chuckling as he answered her.
Lu Feiyan had never been the formidable type. Stabbed like that he was extremely frustrated but had no way to retaliate.
"Are you unrelated?" Yun Jian who had been silent suddenly said as a group of students pointed at him, as their words grew uglier.
"Aah?" The crowd was stunned for a moment.
"Bored? Lonely? Feeling empty?" Yun Jian spat and grinned. “If yes, continue chatting. I don't mind.
In other words, they have nothing to do but get bored, lonely and feel empty if they continue the topic.
