Chapter 117: Before the Battle

Snake.Lizard had told Xu Zetian before he left that he would have Yun Jian replace him for the fight tonight.

When Xu Zetian heard the news, he was completely dumbfounded but he finally agreed.

He had no right to deny the decision of a higher ranking superior of the Gu Sha Paying Army. It's been nice that they've sent someone to help her.

“Nona Yun!” Duan Lei greeted him respectfully when he saw Yun Jian.

Yun Jian was young but he respected him. It was implied that he was capable enough if he dared to fight in the knockout match today.

Yun Jian nodded weakly and told Duan Lei in a soft voice, “I am with my friends. I will come again when the game starts.”

He then turned around to go alone. He was only here to show his face and tell Duan Lei that he was already here.

On the other hand, Gu Hao and his companions looked at Yun Jian in astonishment.

They were unable to hear the conversation between Yun Jian and Duan Lei but although it was far away, they could see that the latter respected Yun Jian.

"Do you know him? He's the assistant mafia boss!” Representing everyone's suspicions, Gu Hao asked Yun Jian with a sideways glance.

“Tsk, why is the girl acting so mysterious? Does he think he's someone extraordinary? Does he think that he's better than a mafia boss? What losers!" A girl could not resist punishing harshly to please Gu Hao, when she saw Yun Jian ignoring the boy. He also quietly rolled his eyes towards Yun Jian.

When he reprimanded Yun Jian, he was very loud, almost worried that Yun Jian would not hear him. Even Duan Le who was standing very far away heard the girl's voice being amplified. He could not help frowning but remained silent. When the girl saw that Yun Jian was not bothered with her after grumbling again, she shut her mouth realizing that there was no benefit.

Yun Jian had already returned, sitting between Chen Xinyi and Zhang Shaofeng while beaming at them.

Gu Hao and his friends sat down after choosing their place as well. The interest of the excited youths was clearly visible on their faces.

It is clear that today's ring matches represent their anticipation, aspiration or ambition.

After a long sitting, Yun Jian saw Duan Lei waving at him from afar, immediately understanding that this was a signal that the match was about to start. He turned to Chen Xinyi and said, "I'll go to the restroom."

He did not directly tell her that he was going to fight in the ring. Although Chen Xinyi and the others would find out sooner or later, she knew that they would not believe her if she told them now. In closing, he might as well let them see it with his own eyes.

"It's okay." Yun Jian shook his head while grinning, showing off his pearl white skin.

After which, he jumped off the low platform and walked around the ring quickly to the back of the arena.

No one saw that Duan Lei also entered after Yun Jian entered the backstage.
