~BAB 18~
In the morning, before meeting the members. Dominic asked Kenard for breakfast together. There was Jack and Xavia also there eating elegantly like princesses, secretly stealing the attention when the man came.
Dominic is in the last seat. Kenard and Xavia in positions opposite each other across the table. The two looked awkwardly at each other averted their eyes not daring to stare.
“You must be proud that Kenard won the fight last night, Xavia. You didn't choose the wrong person,” Dominic said. Break the silence between them.
Xavia was confused as to what to say, she just stared at Kenard at a glance while smiling in embarrassment. And vice versa.
“I picked him because I saw he was always training hard, Papa. Compared to the others, Kenard was the most prominent,” replied Xavia after a long search for answers.
“I train also because of your support, Xavia.” Kenard hooked up making Xavia's lips move but did not speak.
“But by the way, have you given Kenard a gift, I think you need to appreciate his victory, even if it is small.”
Xavia and Kenard look equally nervous, their cheeks met red when Dominic discussed the gift.
“Hem I've-“
“No need, Mr. Dom.”
Dominic is confused when the two talk together. Moreover, now they are equally awkward.
“All right, you guys just continue eating it, I have a business for a while.” Dominic left the dining table first.
They all finished their breakfast.
Xavia went to the training area, he held a knife and threw it against the target board. The woman smiled with satisfaction.
“Good, Xavia. Must be improved again,” Kenard said as he passed beside him.
Xavia turned her head with a smile without answering, Kenard walked past her just like that.
Jack Hudson who was standing beside Xavia squinted, glancing at the girl, He had considered himself to be Xavia's future fiancee.
Upon seeing the awkward attitude between Xavia and Kenard that was clearly visible before his eyes, made curiosity flare up and his heart uneasy.
Jack switched the topic of their previous conversation.
“So like this, Xavia. Your father and my father are planning to marry us both. They thought we were both compatible. I think it was a good plan, I totally agree,” he said suddenly discussing marriage.
Xavia turned his head, ears like buzzing instantly upon hearing Jack's discussion. He nodded without hesitation.
“I don't want.” Three words can make Jack flabbergasted.
“You refused to marry me? What's reason?” jack asked the subordinate's son asked. Xavia's words had just hurt her.
Xavia shook his head again looking at Jack's eyes boldly. “Karana, now married is not in my mind. The plan doesn't exist at all. Believe me, there are still many goals that I want to achieve, and I want a wedding to interfere.” He replied firmly and straightforwardly, but it did not reduce the smile on the face at all.
Without Xavia knowing Jack's jaw tightened. His two hands clenched his face turned slightly redder. Jack held back the anger in front of Xavia, so as not to be fiery and make the woman dislike.
After successfully making his emotions slightly subside. He asked, 'em,
“Then, how is the relationship between you and Kenard? If the person in my position was him, would you also answer as you said earlier?” tanyakanya.
Xavia nodded. He thinks Jack has gone too far in his affairs, upsetting him.
“Alright, if you want it like that.”
“Yes, it should be.”
“From now on I won't take care of you anymore, because I resigned!” Jack with reddened eyes emitted a flash of anger he walked away from Xavia just like that. He no longer had any interest in being the female bodyguard.
Xavia rushes to meet Dominic who just happened to finish hanging up with someone.
“Papa, Jack just talked about marriage with me. I thought she wouldn't discuss it this soon, but it turns out she said that you also agreed with our marriage,” Xavia explained directly.
“What did happen, did you accept his invitation?”
“I turned it down.”
Dominic who put the phone on the table suddenly raised his eyes.
“Indeed why did you reject it?
Even he is a good man.” In the eyes of Dominic Jack is a very nice young man, he is patient and looks to love his daughter.
“Because at the moment, I don't plan on getting married, Papa!” answer Xavia firmly.
“Oh, so it seems.” Dominic sat with his legs resting on each other, nodding in understanding.
Dominic understands the situation of his daughter's heart, Xavia had a difficult time first and made it quite difficult to rise from his sadness.
He knew for a fact that his daughter had met a man who had changed her.
“Xavia, who is the man who has made your life vibrant every day?” ask Dominic.
Xavia immediately recalled yesterday's incident when she kissed Kenard's cheek. The man's cold, slightly rough touch of skin was shaved off, like it still felt.
Unknowingly, his cheeks flushed in light of the incident. Then when he realized the father was paying attention, he immediately shook his head, pretending to complain.
“Do not know why, suddenly I am very thirsty, it is better now I immediately take a drink, before getting dehydrated.”
His face sheltered under the unraveling hair, he left Dominic alone on the sofa. Such a rush even one leg kicked the leg of the table that made him almost fall.
“You all right, Xavia?” ask Dominic to worry.
“I'm fine, just calm down, Papa. Yes, I'm fine.” Without looking Xavia went straight away.
Dominic shook his head inexhaustibly with the mere behavior of the princess. She knows that her daughter has fallen in love with someone other than Jack. It's just that Xavia chose to hide it rather than bluntly.
However, at least Dominic is happy because if that happens, Xavia will now be free from the painful memories he once lived. He deserves to have happiness.
On the other hand, Dominic also feels anxious because he knows, someday his daughter will leave him after marriage later.
He turned his head to the side, taking a photo in a frame that was always placed on a small table beside the sofa. The photo of his wife posing sitting in a white dress looks graceful. He was very similar to Xavia, only his eyebrows were not.
Gently and lovingly, Dominic stroked the photo of his wife in his hand. “If you were here now, it would all feel more different,” Dominic said slowly.
While continuing to wipe the glass frame, as if he was rubbing his wife's cheek.
