WOMEN IN GROUP SHORT STORY

WOMEN IN GROUP SHORT STORY
#SP-3

I'm alive and trying to open my mouth wide to get all the air into my lungs. Samar I heard Sayid's angry chatter and the sound of a booming-gedebug. Then my sister's scream echoed in the blind night, restoring my near-missing consciousness.

“Amaaaak ..!”

The second time Sayid calls, makes me really sit down and look for Amak. A little surprised, aware of our brightly lit home.

“Unni! Take Amak out. Home burned!” shouted my sister.

The shock caused me to lose my response. I just silently stared to see my sister having trouble lifting Amak who was not moving.

“Unni!” Sayid's shaking hands resuscitated me. “Please take Amak out!” my sister said again.

My weak and still body has not recovered from the shock, making something unable to nimbly bring Amak out of the house. Just one meter from the door, Sayid ran inside again.

“Sayid!” shouts horrified.

Our wooden house is old. Older than the age of marriage Amak and Father. Because it is the heritage house of Amai, the mother of Amak. Very quickly the fire raged devouring the weathered wall wood.

“Sayid!” I panicked and stood up. My sister had to get out of the house before the roof pole collapsed.

“I'm here!”

Sayid emerged from the side of the house. In his hand was a place of rice whose contents did not reach a liter. There was a school bag on his back. He spread the long cloth which belonged only to Amak. Both of us moved away from the house that was now completely burned.

I looked at our only place to live. Then I remembered father. “Where's father?” my many.

“He strangled Uni and pushed Amak down. Sayid hit his fist with cambuang. Repeatedly hit new Union released. Run her now!”

My sister is very angry. I hugged him and checked on Amak. I'm worried again. “Abtain water!” my orders are with Sayid.

My sister ran straight to the water rope in front of the house and snatched the water with her two-handed butt. The water was poured into the face of the rampage, hoping that he would come to his senses soon. Amak did not respond. My panic appeared again.

“Amak, wake ...” call me with a growling voice. Sayid was crying.

“Amak why?” tanyanya did not understand. I can only shake.

“Go to Datuk Soleh place, call here!” my orders.

Grandparents are the closest to our house. It was only two hundred meters away. My sister has sped fast like a gazelle.  I hugged Amak with tears, illuminated by the light of our house which was now completely engulfed in flames.

The crackling of wood burned, like the air of the crackling of wood as I cooked in the kitchen. But this rattling sound did not make me happy at all. “Where else do we live with family?” my mind is tired of thinking about all that.

“Amak .. wake up. Don't leave Reno alone ...,” lamented me sad. I cuddled up to her wrinkled face.

I've got a pitch-black street that's not lit by electric lights. Sayid and Datuk Soleh have not been seen. I felt like I was waiting for centuries.

Before long the voices of the people sounded very crowded. They must be families and workers at Datuk Soleh's place. Because the house can no longer be saved, so I called “Please Amak!”

People come closer to see. They were all men, no one dared to touch Amak to check. “Why amakmu?” ask Datuk Soleh.

“Tadi Uni strangled the same Father. Amak and I broke up. Mr. Amak encouraged until he fell. I beat him with a cast iron, just ran him.” Sayid recounted what happened with anger.

“We no one understands anything like this. Should take it to mantri in another hamlet!” said those people.

“You, go to surau, where the people of the city are staying. Maybe they know how to check out Amak the Reno's.”

I could only cry and continue shaking Amak's body in my arms. Amak did not make a sound, did not sigh or moan. I'm really scared right now. My mind is bad.

“Shortly Datuk notify Asrul of this incident.”

Datuk Soleh took his phone out of his pocket. Raising it on his head in circles, even walking more and more here with a cell phone pointed up. Uda said, in the hamlet we are very difficult to signal. That's why I don't need to be equipped with such tools, free! Whenever there's something I'll ask Datuk Soleh for help to inform Uda Asrul.

I heard the sound of a motorbike coming and before long more people came. “Please walk, let them check,” command Datuk Soleh.

Some of the students of the city approached. Someone squatted. “Sorry, Uni,” said. I'm nodding. Let the man take the mother's hand and check on her wrist.

I could see a small frown between his two eyebrows. My heart was more and more troubled to realize the young man's concern.

“Amak why, Uda?” I asked with a face that was full of tears mixed with snot.

He didn't answer. Her hand slid into her neck to convince herself. Then shake.

“Try Uni put a head on her amok chest, is there a sound of a beating heart,” her advice.

The man's hand pulled one of his friends. Show me how I should check Amak's heart.

I followed his words. The place is now silent in tension. Only the crackling of wood engulfed in flames could be heard. I pulled my sister to compare her chest voice to that of Amak's chest. I came back crying.

“Try the little sister who listened,” I said with tears in her eyes.

Rigidly, Sayid crouched down on the side of Amak who kept silent. Her tears are spilling. But he tried to listen to the sound of Amak's heart and soon growled with a loud voice.

“Do not leave Sayid, Amak ..”

I hugged her and cried together.  Then my sister's body twitched. His eyes glinted in anger.

I heard people say Innalillah.

“I'll find you until I can and kill him. He killed Amak and fled!” I could see the flames of vengeance in my sister's eyes. I can just hug and hold it.

“Sabar ...,” I whispered in a choked voice.

“What patience! He also wanted to kill the Union earlier! If I hadn't hit him in the head, he wouldn't have let go of Uni!” Sayid is still emotional, there will be no words that can calm him. I hugged him without speaking.

But then people wondered between them what was the problem of our family, until the father killed Amak and wanted to kill me too.

“We should take it to the nearest doctor to make sure,” proposed one of the city's students. His friends nodded.

“I take a car,” say another.

“Do you know where the nearest doctor is here?” ask the student who squatted in front of me.

“I know the nearest mantri. If the doctor, we have to go to another village far away.” said Datuk Soleh.

“Then we take it to mantri first. Look what he just said.” Answer the student.

“Let me show you the way there. Wait I grab something at home.” Datuk Soleh left without waiting for anyone's approval.
