WOMEN AND GRAVES

WOMEN AND GRAVES
DISTANCE BETWEEN KUMAL AND ARIN

The distance of the contract with Bu Yunit house is not too far away, only blocked by two houses. However, Arin's relationship with Kumal stretched, like there was a wide gap without a bridge. They don't greet each other even when they cross paths, they don't laugh and cry together like they did in childhood. They both did not have the strength to build a connecting bridge between those wide ravines.

After finishing college outside the city and becoming a scholar, Kumal returned to the public cemetery. Memories are still scattered there. The money from writing he used to rent a rented house to Bu Yunit, of course he did so that he could see Arin's smile again.

But even now, he did not have the courage to meet face to face or just greet Arin. Arin grew up to be a beautiful woman. It is a village flower that many men fight over. Kumal does not have the power to get close to Arin even though it is a bit. He was too afraid, if Arin no longer recognized him, and it added to the pain in the heart. It was just a poor poet who had nothing in front of a blossoming flower.

Similarly, Arin, since Kumal set foot in this village again and contracted a house to his mother, he can only wait and wait for Kumal to say his name again. However, it did not come and may never come.

He wants to greet Kumal first, but as a woman the shame is always haunting. Moreover, the degree of Arin has been much different from Kumal. She was just a High School graduate who later became a village woman in general. Kumal, meanwhile, is a scholar who is said to have now become a poet and is revered by many women.

Oh, what an innocent they both are, they're both waiting for each other, don't know where to go and don't know how to go.

Kumal is always looking for reasons and opportunities to meet the corners of Arin's lips that love a smile. Strange things he often does. Sometimes he goes to the market, as if to shop, which is nothing but to follow Arin who walks through the streets muddy.

Sometimes, he pretends to exercise again in the morning, pacing in a small alley, just to cross the house of Arin, and see his disheveled face that just woke up. And now, Kumal was lurking in broad daylight, with Beautiful Ghosts following, towards Arin's bedroom window.

“Why do we have to sneak around like we're about to storm?” asked Fana Ismi curious to see the strange behavior of Kumal.

“Hus, don't be noisy! Didn't you yourself say, that you want to know who the woman I like,” whispered Kumal. He lied about meeting Arin just because Beautiful Ghosts are curious, he just just misses, and longing can be a pretty perfect reason.

“But still, why do we have to sneak around? Are you guys fighting again?

“No, it's just that we haven't chatted since I went to college outside the city.”

“Why?”

“Maybe because of distance.”

“But now you are here, why are you even keeping your distance.”

“Once you know, I'm just following my conscience.”

“That's not a conscience, Kumal. You guys are just naive.”

‘Naif’ may be the word it does fit for both of them. “Already, I don't want to argue with you in this stressful situation,” Kumal replied indifferently making Fana Ismi upset half to death.

The two of them reached the window of Arin's room. Unlike the Beautiful Ghost who was blatantly looking into the window, Kumal raised his head slowly and carefully, just like a pervert peeking at a bathing woman.

Fana Ismi jiggled to see the true nature of Kumal. The young man's feet trembled, he felt guilty seeing Arin in such a state. However, Kumal's body was unmoved, his eyes as if reluctant to go from the current beautiful gaze.

And incidentally, someone just crossed the place and saw the incident. He was a farmer who wanted to go to the fields. He saw a suspicious subject and tried to reprimand, “What do you see there, Young Man?”

Sontak Kumal jerks. He quickly dodged and stuck the body to the face of the wall so as not to be caught by Arin. “A... a... annu, Uncle ..” said Kumal stammered in this tense situation.

“Wah, Kumal Naughty,” the farmer recognized the face Kumal “What are you doing there, Kumal Naughty? Peeping yes..” todong farmers while crying. Beautiful Ghost giggles to see Kumal caught red-handed. And in the room, Arin quickly scooped a blanket to cover his body, when he heard a commotion from the window.

“Ti.no, Uncle,” replied Kumal quickly. He was also somewhat annoyed at Fana Ismi who instead of helping was even mocking. “Di.. she, Uncle. I'm dropping him off, uncle!” Kumal pointed towards the direction Beautiful Ghost was.

“Introducing? What do you mean, Kumal Boy?” ask the farmer in wonder. I forgot that the farmer couldn't see ghosts.

Fana Ismi is giggling.

“E... I mean.. I drove the rent money to Bu Yunit. Yes, I was about to drop him off,” Kumal found one reason. But the farmer remained suspicious.

“Introducing money kok through window.”

I'm sorry, he's really been caught off guard. He was afraid that Arin would come out and find him peeping. There was no other choice, Kumal thought. He pulled over little by little, then quickly pulled out the thousand foot.

The farmer looked back and saw Kumal's cat-like behavior being caught stealing fish.

“I didn't think it turned out you were a perverted man,” taunted Beautiful Ghost while holding back a laugh.

And in the contract, Kumal still huffed because of running too fast. “Stupid! I just accidentally saw him change clothes.”

“But you enjoyed it, right?”

“Indeed Yes. But..”

“But what?” cut Fana Ismi makes Kumal can not find any more excuses.

“Already, I'm dizzy!” pasal Kumal later. It was like he had no power to just walk. It was afraid that Arin would hate him even more and regard him as a perverted man.

And as if not to know about the unrest of Kumal, Fana Ismi even scattered in the air.
