WOMEN AND GRAVES
CALLED G. KUMAL AKSARA AND HE'S NOT A LOSER!

Name's G. Kumal Aksara and he's not a loser!

***

From childhood Kumal lived together with father—Anggi Kusuma— at the public cemetery. As far as Kumal's memory goes, the public cemetery was indeed their home. I had no idea before that I lived and had a house where. He also never knew what happened to his father in the past.

They live in a small building where the coffins are located right in the corner of the public cemetery. Inside the small building, there is a kitchen and a room. The bathroom is outside the house. The funeral has provided everything they need, and there are also children and fathers living happily.

As a father, Anggi Kusuma worked hard for his son. In addition to being a grave keeper, he also worked as a grave digger. Not much money he could, however, was enough to meet a simple need. For the sake of the child, slam bones, slam the hoe, even slammed was Anggi Kusuma willing.

“we will all die, son, and the grave is our last home, hoho. Therefore, son, have fun because we have lived in the last house, hoho. So we don't have to be afraid, hoho. Since we're used to it, hoho.” That is what Anggi Kusuma said to the child, every night when Kumal was frightened because he was surrounded by a row of graves.

Anggi Kusuma also used to talk with his typical heavy laughter. It makes the figure of Anggi Kusuma funny. A lot of people like the way he speaks and behave. Sometimes they imitate the way they speak. He will always laugh, even if he does not want to laugh.

Anggi Kusuma affirms and teaches the child to be a tough child, to not cry, always be gentle with women, and never be a loser. The third teaching is indeed quite strange, ‘always be gentle on women’. Maybe because I love my mom so much. Maybe because of his love he did not intend to marry again after a long time mother died. Hoho, you're not a loser.

However, it took time for Kumal to understand the teachings of the father. Little mums are still often frightened and often cry. Just like that time, for Kumal, the night seemed to be the other side of hell and the grave like a dark shadow lurking everywhere.

That night, little Kumal is forced to fall from his dreams only because of the insistence of nature. He woke up even though he still wanted to continue his dream. He tugged at his pants, forcing Anggi Kusuma to wake up. When you open your eyes, he also shows a clear look with sparkling eyes, “Pak..., Kumal wants to pee.” He gripped the front of his pants, a sign that he could not hold any longer.

“Bathroom is outside, hoho. Go alone, hoho, don't be a loser, hoho. You are very sleepy, hoho,” reply father as if not care, then he closed his eyes again. Actually you could have withstood the drowsiness and drove Kumal. However, he teaches the child to be a tough child, so that the frills of the word loser will disappear.

“But, Sir...,” Little kumal keeps begging. However, he also realized there was no use in begging the father who had snored hard enough. He held the urge of nature longer and longer. He wanted to finish the celebration when it was just morning. But can't, a drop of pee has been dripped off the tip of the bird.

A small mustache jumping because it can not stand anymore. There was no other option, he had to get out and go to the bathroom as quickly as possible. He ventured, slowly stepping out of the house. He has a plan, once outside he will bow his head so as not to meet the row of graves.

But nil, because when Kumal opened the door, he was immediately confronted by the graves. The wind quietly slipped into the boy's shirt, and Kumal glanced at the old gravestones. Oh, even a cold sweat rattled Kumal's frail body.

He imagined, someone came out of the grave, with the body of a caterpillar and the mouth torn filled with blood. Someone came out from another grave, now his head is no longer a man, but a poisonous snake with a licking tongue. From the other graves were also the same, one by one a monstrous figure appeared, with a ugly and terrifying look.

The next day, I smelled the smell of piles outside the house. When he came out, he found Kumal's body lying in front of the door. “Hoho, this child may faint from fear,” muttered Anggi Kusuma. He wiggled Kumal's body to wake him up, so that he didn't look like a tramp.

“Why are you sleeping here, son? hoho” asked when Kumal opened his eyes.

Kumal was surprised, he was flabbergasted because he was on the ground and he was also surprised to see the face of the father right in front of him.

“Why are you getting stuck here, son? hoho” repeated his question.

Kumal tried to remember the incident last night, after waking up, he hugged his father's body very tightly. “I'm afraid, Father. Kumal really scared.”

“Why are you scared? hoho what really happened last night? hoho”

“Ha.. ha... ghost,” says Kumal stutters because he is still afraid. “I saw a ghost last night, Father. They come and will eat me raw.”

“That ghost doesn't exist, son, hoho. The ghost you saw last night, is the ghost in your mind, son, hoho.”

“What did you say, Father?”

“True, son, the proof is that you are still alive today. If that ghost existed, maybe you were eaten alive last night, hoho. You're just still too much of a loser, son, hoho”

“I don't want to be a loser, Father!” sontak Kumal replied enthusiastically.

“Hoho, then no more fear and cry. Remember, boy, hoho abstain men to cry!”

His last words seeped into the child's soul. I don't want to be a loser, so I practice not crying or being scared. He acted like a child in general, running around between graves, and doing rough movements. He acted like a warrior every day. He did not realize, that there was secretly a little girl with hair braided in two, was giggling to notice his funny behavior.
