BOOOM UP!
The bomb fell from a height of thousands of feet to hit the land of the Windmill. On May 10, 1940, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg were the food of bombs dropped by the Nazi army. The Netherlands, just like West Sumatra, was devastated by bombardment by the German Air Force.
Magnificent cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam, Breda, Leiden, and Amsterdam were all destroyed by tons of bombs that were accidentally dropped by Nazi soldiers. The beauty of the centuries-old Nederland vanished in a matter of seconds, no more giant bridges, merchant ships, luxury buildings and the beautiful port of Rotterdam. Seeing her land destroyed by Nazi forces, Queen Wilhelmina the number one man in the Netherlands fled to London.
Anxiety began to hit the souls of the colonial people, the country was already in the clutches of Germany. The pressure of the Indonesian people to be free is getting stronger. The motion Thamrin who wanted to change the designation Nederland indie to Indonesia, the call Inlander changed to Indonesier was immediately granted by the Dutch.
Faced with a difficult situation, for the first time the Netherlands gave training to the Indonesian people, this was done solely for its sake, because the Netherlands began to falter in its position in Indonesia. In the condition of the colonialists squeezed, the advocates of the struggle of women instead they began to gain a place in politics.
Entering 1941, the Netherlands was increasingly threatened by Japan, which sparked the Pacific War by bombarding US bases. It took only five hours for Dutch East Indies Governor Tjarda van Starkenborgh Stachhouwer to declare war on Japan. But the Dutch who joined ABDACOM could not stop the Japanese imperialists.
In the new year 1942 Japan actually managed to enter Indonesia. This further clarifies the increasingly desperate condition of the Netherlands. Van Berg as a KNIL soldier was pensive in the corner of the chair accompanied by a native girl who officially reigned in his heart.
"Why are you so upset?" ask Sri Utami.
"How I'm not agitated Sri, Nippon is getting into the Dutch East Indies," said Van Berg while peeking at the niche of his nose.
Sri Utami just fell silent, she did not know what to say if there was her lover. Sri Utami just tried to calm the anxiety of his lover by stroking his back then leaning his head against Van Berg's arm, seeing the spoiled behavior of Sri Utami, who was very sad, Van Berg finally embraced Sri Utami's shoulder to tend to the chest of his field.
"Sri, I'm afraid to part with you again!" van berg.
"There is no need to worry about what has not happened" Sri Utami said as she looked at Van Berg's grey-colored neutrals.
"I hope we can defeat Nippon's army" Van Berg said.
Sri Utami does not budge, honestly in his heart he does not want to lose Van Berg but that means his country remains colonized, on the other hand if the Netherlands loses then Van Berg will not be beside him again.
"Sri?" ask Van Berg.
" Yes," answered Sri Utami still in Van Berg's arms.
"I love this country so much and I love you too!" van Berg said.
"Me too" said Sri Utami.
Van Berg changed position facing Sri Utami towards him, he looked at the sweet face. He holds both his shoulders.
"Sri, don't marry anyone but me!" van Berg said.
"Why?" sri Utami replied with a smile.
"I can't stand to see you with another man!" van Berg said.
"Hm... If you don't come back after the war is over, do I have to be an unmarried woman for life?" sri Utami said with a smile showing off her teeth.
"It's not so! As long as I live, you're only mine!" van Berg said he landed a kiss on Sri Utami.
"All right! then promise me you won't kill my people!" sri Utami.
Sri Utami was pensive with her own words. Does this mean I am changing my life to free the suffering of my people? the Inner Sri Utami.
Van Berg looks silent for a moment, weighing the request of Sri Utami. Of course it was a difficult request for Van Berg who was a KNIL soldier.
Seeing the look on Van Berg's face, Sri Utami realized the topic was too sensitive for Van Berg, he chose not to talk about it anymore. The two enjoyed the afternoon in silence.

In February 1942, the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies fled to Bandung with government officials. Hotel Homan and Preanger crowded with high officials of the Dutch East Indies.
Beyond suspicion after the war in the Java Sea, Japan fielded its troops at three points, namely in the Gulf of Banten, West Java and Central Java. Even Colonel Shoji managed to occupy Subang at that time.
KNIL soldiers are on standby with all their weapons, to block the Japanese soldiers who will be present to Bandung. Van Berg in his uniform dredged a bullet. Sri Utami learns that the night may be the last time he meets Van Berg. He ran towards the Nedeland army barracks.
"Sri, why are you here?" van Berg was shocked.
Sri Utami just silent his gaze filled with anxiety, he rushed to hug Van Berg.
"Sri, pray for me to be safe." said Van Berg as he returned Sri Utami's embrace.
"Please promise me you'll come to me after this!" sri Utami.
Van Berg stretched his arms and now cupped Sri Utami's face with both hands.
"I'll remember this face!" van Berg said with a smile.
"Calm down, the Netherlands is great, we definitely won!" continued Van Berg.
Sri Utami simply nodded her head, looking at Van Berg, both hands holding Van Berg's chest, her tears streaming down. Van Berg pulled Sri Utami back in his arms. He was equally worried about this war. The voice of the army leader broke the intimacy of the two people.
"Sri, I have to go!" van Berg said.
Sri Utami also slowly released his hold on Van Berg. Van Berg's smile was engraved there. Van Berg hastened to leave Sri Utami. But Sri Utami again called him who made his step stop.
"Van Berg!" sri Utami said as she ran up to him.
"Why?" ask Van Berg.
Sri Utami with all her courage to tip kissed Van Berg's lips, which immediately made him surprised, He immediately pulled Sri Utami's waist back to the kiss. Van Berg could not linger anymore because the army was waiting for him. He gave his last smile to Sri Utami. The truck carrying soldiers moved away from Sri Utami.
DOR'S! DOR'S! DOR'S!
The direct exchange of fire occurred not far from the existence of Sri Utami. His heart immediately beat violently, every blast of the bullet felt like it was hitting his heart. Sri Utami quickly walked on a wheel train leaving the location while shedding tears.
When passing through the road Braga conditions are much different, Sri Utami witnessed the Dutch East Indies officers were so calm, still dancing cheerfully while looking at alcohol. Sri Utami was stunned to see this.
