Gwen frowned. He seems to be confused by Mervin's explanation. Did Grandpa Ethan deviate such an antique?
Looking at his confused female face, Mervin explained it simply.
“I found this thing somewhere else, in the past. I was thrown there,” obviously short.
Mervin even showed Gwen the urn.
“See this eye symbol, Egyptian pharaoh eye,” he said pointing to one big eye symbol in the middle of the urn.
Gwen looked at the symbol and felt even stranger, where maybe what her man said was real.
“Mervin, you said you went to the past?”
Mervin immediately nodded in response. He knew it made no sense and was hard to believe. Even he did not believe that before.
Gwen touched Mervin's forehead, her body temperature was normal. His son was not in a fever. Then why stir it up like that?
“Mervin tell me honestly, did you take that stuff from someone else?”
It's not that Gwen doesn't believe in her husband but she's worried that he's doing something negative, like stealing and claiming to find the item.
“No, I don't steal. I found it in the past. You can think I'm crazy or hallucinating. But it's real, Gwen.”
Mervin denies it and goes back to explaining where he got the urn.
“Wait, I also brought a gold coin in the era of Queen Elizabeth II for you,” sure again, then reached into his pants pocket.
“O-oo...” It turned out that the gold coin had disappeared from his pants pocket. There's nothing there.
“Which coin do you mean?”
“The coin is gone. Maybe I can only take one item,” he lamented.
Gwen increasingly did not understand the explanation Mervin. He looked back intensely at the tired face of the man. Also his stern, reassuring eyes were no lies there even though everything still sounded absurd to him.
“We go in and sit inside. I'll tell you everything,” Mervin said.
He took her hand and invited her inside. After locking the door tightly so that no one could hear her talk, she sat down with Gwen.
“So Tell me how can you get a high value gold key like this?” tanya Gwen now holds the antique urn.
Mervin then told a complete story from beginning to end how he could suddenly be thrown into the past after repairing Grandpa Ethan's watch until he returned with a gold urn.
Gwen occasionally nodded to listen to the story, even to the gawking of hearing the story about Mervin seeing a pile of abundant gold coins.
“Do you trust my story now?” ask Mervin after he finishes the story.
Gwen nodded even though everything felt unreasonable to her before. But he knew his man never lied or lied to him.
“Then would you like to do this urn?” ask Gwen.
Mervin suddenly remembered the words of his father-in-law earlier who counted all his needs during this time as debt.
Gwen agreed to that. He said there was no harm in giving money to his father, regardless of paying debts or not. Maybe it'll change his father's view on Mervin all this time.
“Cute me now.”
Mervin hurriedly takes Gwen from Ethan's Grandpa's house to an antique collector.
Moments later they arrive at Mr. James's house, an old man and an antique collector there.
“Excuse me, Mr. James. We want to sell this antique,”ucap Mervin after pressing the bell button of the house, and the man with glasses only in the left eye out welcomes him.
“Oh, Mr. Eric Floyd's son-in-law apparently.”
The man immediately found out when he saw Gwen with Mervin. Then he brought her in.
Mr. James is a professional collector. He was used to working fast and deftly at a young age no longer.
The man then took Mervin's urn, and examined it carefully. He even used a magnifying glass to see its authenticity.
He also tapped on the urn with a light iron stick to hack into its authenticity, due to the large number of counterfeits circulating lately. And he doesn't want to be fooled.
“This article is original. Ancient jars from Egyptian civilization. I appreciate it $ 700,” he said after finishing testing and stating the item was indeed genuine.
Mervin and Gwen smiled broadly at the dollar price mentioned by Mr. James.
“Ya, Sir. I agree with that price.”
Mervin just agreed on the price offered. For him the nominal is very large and enough to live the next few months.
After receiving the money, he and Gwen went home. It just so happened that Eric was sitting in the living room reading the newspaper.
“Mervin where did you just come back from? Again, why are you smiling so brightly?!” hardik Eric, don't like to see his daughter-in-law smile.
“Dad, I got the money. And this, to pay off my debt to Daddy.”
Still with a smile, Mervin took out $ 100 and gave it to Eric.
But the response he received was not expected but beyond his expectations.
“Mervin! Where did you get this much money?! There's no way money from the sale of your newspaper this much. You must have stolen!” the hardship is higher than before.
“But Dad, this is really my money and not the loot,” denied Mervin.
Eric did not receive the money, and the legend rebuffed him. Made him fall on the floor.
Bugh! He even kicked and hit Mervin right then and there.
Akhs! Mervin grimaced and then rose while wiping the blood on the corner of his lips, after the departure of Eric.
He stared at the money on the floor with a hot heart.
